Hi Jacob. Thanks man 😁. Yes the black body, tinted windows and cream interior really did it for us. We had seen an identical one that was not for sale and loved it, so we went on a quest to find a similar one that we could afford and succeeded in finding one just down the road. L322s of any finish are a pretty rare sight in France. So we were lucky. All the best

The sump breather is often missed during servicing of the M57 engine, on both of my 2001 530Ds I doubt whether they had eve been replaced., The earlier disposable filter should be replaced with the later washable filter. Always find it strange when people talk about clogged EGRs on these engines. My M57 engined 530D (170k miles plus on both) have impeccably clean EGRs and very little carbon in the intake manifolds. At least L322s don't have the dreaded swirl flaps as the BMW auto M57s have. Deleted them on my auto as part of the post-purchase service.

@@cogfuel629 hey Will, no worries thanks for getting back to me. Frequent issues at the moment seem to be…after driving for about 5-10 miles the dash throws up the HDC not available message and then “suspension lowered” straight after. The dash then lights up which going off the workshop manual suggested an ABS fault. Have plugged her into a diagnostic tool and after clearing out the historic ones and re-running it I’ve got 8 pulled back up all with anywhere between 1 and 16 faults attached to them. Ironically none of them are ABS related. Seems to be a voltage issue so I’m going to get the battery changed for a new one and check the connectors on it. Scratching my head a bit with it. I have to say she’s not in the best condition. The garage we purchased her from have done us over a bit. Broken rear light clusters, broken LEDs front and rear. Sensors hanging from front bumper. Loose wires in the bonnet. What on earth have I got myself into here 😂

@@Ecs90x Hi! Danm that does indeed sound like quite a headache. And I'm really sorry but I don't even have a suggestion. I have never had any of the issues you mentioned. Mine only gives messages about the suspension faults but the suspension is indeed faulty. I'm pretty useless with wiring issues even with my 84 classic... Mine has had a weakish battery for some time so I don't think that could be your problem. I'm afraid I would probably take it to a garage that knows these cars inside out. Best of luck with that one.

I have just had a thought. I know for certain that on a BMW X5 faulty tail lights can cause several error messages including gearbox issues. so possibly worth investigating

@@cogfuel629 Hey Will thanks for the reply. The lights are indeed faulty but that appears the be the least of my worries at the moment. Friday I took it to my local garage as I suspected the MOT was dodgy. Things have got pretty bad and I’m contacting the DVSA. The car dealer and MOT tester gave it a 100% pass with no advisories but my garage have found every ball joint has gone, suspension is broken, the sills are so rotten that the Jack points are non existent. The back wheels are hanging loosely from the arms and their words to me were “promise me you won’t put your kids in this! I don’t know how you’re all still alive”. It’s so dangerous and rotten that even the anchor points for seatbelts in the back are gone. My kids lives have been at risk every time I’ve loaded them into it. So now im going all out to get them shut down. Gutted is an understatement but thank god I got it checked out before anyone got hurt!

Hello there 🙂 Ah cool, I would love to see how another one drives one day for a comparison. The new sump breather helped a bit. Glad I did it. But the egr valve was not working even after the clean. I have since deleted the egr valve with a bypass kit. I will post a video about that soon.
