Yes, I totally agree, a visual inspection first, and this video could have been way shorter... unfortunately I am not a wizard...
This Vogue Overfinch 3.6 turbo diesel V8, came to me with a couple of issues...
In this video will be tackling the issue that puts the car into limp mode when cruising at steady speeds...
A quick scan revealed a P023D
A bit of live data analysis, some visual inspection, and problem found!

I also like to log mass air flow, because in case of boost leak is easy to see that engine is pushing more air than what is normal, and is generating less boost, that means you have boost leak, that was easy but sometimes is not that easy to see and i use to log from mass air flow to make sure all the air is going to the the engine.
