Thank you for this video! My young daughter was wanting to cook something. I had the stove lid propped up to soak the underneath to clean. When I got back up to finish cleaning after it had soaked...she walked up to me with both lid support rods in her hand! Out of habit, I never paid much attention to HOW they worked so I couldn't remember how to put them back...after an hour of trying to figure it out...I found your video. i work at an apartment complex (110 apartments), we have hotpoint and whirlpool stove/range's i go through these terminal block kits like candy, replacing at least 6 (or more ) blocks every month, some are repeatedly the same aparment over and over each month. is there anything to help them last longer? someone has recommended applying a conductive thermal paste ("Ox-guard") to the terminals inside the block which could help the connections from arcing, heating up, and damaging the plastic block. any thoughts would be great.

Do you HAVE to use the heat shrink tubing? If you just use the ceramic wire nuts will it be ok?

Flames shot out of my terminal block, and naturally that stove eye does not work. Can I just replace the terminal block or is it possible the firey response done more damage?

You're welcome for the help! Start with testing the igniter for the oven and see if it's faulty. After that check the gas supply valve and make sure it's working properly.

In troubleshooting why my smaller burner isn't working, the Kenmore site says I need to replace the element switch. Is the element switch the same as the terminal block? The terminal block you show looks like the connection I have. I can't seem to locate the anything that looks like the "element switch" they're talking about. Would truly appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

+Jennifer Lively The element switch is also called the infinite heat switch or control. This is the part onthe control panel that the dial or knob attaches to and that you rotate to the desired heat setting .

I have a LFEF3011LWD. The other night I heard a pop, now none of the elements work and the digital display stays off. The breaker did not kick and I have flipped it several times but nothing works. What do I need to do?

If none of the surface elements work, the first thing to check is the input terminal block for presence of 240 volts. This is a live voltage test and should only be attempted by a qualified person.

Hi , Thanks for the Video. My Range , I cannot find the model number , there is no sticker anywhere , no model number mentioned on the user manual too, but it looks exactly like the one on the video. So here is my story , both the big burners were not working, so after watching your video , I ordered and replaced the terminal blocks ( PN 530935058) , now one burner works , the other burner when I switched it on it shorted, heavy sparks, I think element is faulty, I checked the terminal block , it looks fine , but the switch does not light up and there is no power to the terminal block , what do you think could be the issue , is there a fuse or should I go ahead and replace the rotary switch? Appreciate your advise. Thanks.

Problem solved it is the switch, however I am confused , what is the difference between surface terminal block part number 5301167733 and terminal block 5303935058? I found the model number of my range it is CFEF357AS4 and as mentioned I replaced the terminal blocks for both 8" burners with part number 530935058, could this be the wrong ones? Also the wires going into the original terminal block have a fabric heat shield , the wires of the terminal block from PS have normal black insulation, is this insulation heat resistant - Thanks.

A mouse made its home in the insulation blanket between the stove top and top of oven. I had to remove all of the insulation. Anything special I need to consider when replacing it? Is there a video? Do I need to use wire to secure the blanket? Model number is 790.72402013

+Tom Lilly Installing a retaining wire would make reassembly easier, but it is not necessary. Use only the manufacturers insulation.
