The only issues I ever had with my M57 was the Trigger safety (the model classic firearms had) and it treated my fingers horribly! And my M57 destroyed its guide rod, so I replaced both the trigger and the rod with TT-33 parts and it fixed the issues. I know that doesnt keep it original, but for something I actively and like using it seemed worth it to me.

I love my M57. It is such a fun gun to shoot. One of the issues I have run into with my gun is that it shoots very low. The groupings are consistent in terms of windage, but it is about 10 inches low at 7-10 yards. I suspected it was something I was doing, but even from a rest it is super low. It doesn't sound like it is a common issue with these guns. I guess it is just my particular pistol. I've thought about filling the front sight, but I hate to do it since it is such a clean example. I don't typically shoot that low with any other gun. Regardless, I still enjoy shooting it.
@TheBrassGoblin762 Жыл бұрын
I'd say it's still worth filing down. I filled down my Tokarev rear sights because it shot ridiculously high and was driving me nuts. I don't think modifying the sights really diminish the personal value to me.

@christopherconard28314 жыл бұрын
About 30 years ago, when they started coming into the American market I read that the ammo was loaded a little hotter because Russia didn't want separate loads for pistols and SMGs. So they split the difference. I don't know how accurate that is, but there is some logic to it.

I bought a polish one 2 weeks ago, first gun I ever bought and owned. I love the thing to death, I have a soft spot for combloc guns. I think the heavy, robust designs are so cool. I ran 100 rounds of S&B ammo in it and it ate it all with no issues. Interesting that you only shoot the surplus stuff, I know it would make sense that it's loaded the hottest, and it's hard to find a lot of numbers for the round, but I've heard quite a few people claim S&B loads it the hottest pushing 1600fps or so on average, even more so than the surplus. Just an interesting thought.
