This may be my favorite episode. What a guy. He seems like a loveable knucklehead but then just continually shows how sophisticated he is in his responses to the world. I laughed I cried. I learned a whole bunch about the very complex nature of modern warfare. This is one of those episodes that is better if you are familiar with this type of material. This guy can tell a story and you are just rooting for him the entire time. This guy needs a book with a movie tie in. Maybe limited series. Just an epic interview. The way Jack and Dave allow him the space to let it all out is so effective. This podcast continues to be an excellent resource.

Sandusky was my squad leader in HHC for a time. Hands down the most technical and smartest individual in the platoon when it came to the job. He may not have liked me too much but damn he was a excellent ranger.

That, IS the mark of a real leader. No one is in 2/75 to be "liked". You're there for a specific reason. 9th Infantry 1972-1982

I have been there- too many egos in one room. There is always petty squabbling. If he didnt get you throw off the platoon I'd bet he had less of a problem with you than you think. Maybe he is just an asshole sometimes. Nothing against him, just how some dudes are.

So finally finished this, despite the volume issues. His story illustrates the toxic command culture in much of the Army. Good men are screwed over for the smallest infraction. The Army owes this man $25,000 in legal fees, as does the State of Georgia for violating his rights to due process.
@LRRPFco522 жыл бұрын
The States of GA, NC, SC, FL, AR, AL, VA, NJ, DE, etc. have way too many of these types of incidents where corrupt or incompetent pieces of excrement with badges violate the constitution and their own local ordinances as a rule. The Army machine rubber stamps negative actions on career NCOs like this far too often, because of a combination of incompetence and laziness in the leadership.
