The pass to Wright was over hit, and was about 75 yards from the Rangers goal. We had 4 defenders unable to deal with 3 attackers and Butland was also at fault.

Spot on Archie! Wright failed to control a simple pass from Dio, that was the cause of the goal. The guy is MINCE, and while everyone was sprinting back to defend Celtic's attack, he is literally jogging back, making zero effort to correct his mistake. The tims' official YT page has a 'Unique Angle" video of the goal, and shows it all clearly.

I know he's league top goal scorer this year, and would likely be an improvement on Dessers, but i really don't see Shankland as the answer. If brought in as 2nd or 3rd choice fair enough. But as the number 1 striker? I don't see him being quite good enough. Hearts his level. Should have had a hat trick against us last week, but some pretty terrible touches prevented it. It can't just be a marginal improvement on Dessers, it has to be a significant improvement

I think we are over complicating things there is a lot of Scottish players out there that’ll break down Scottish teams and a high percentage of being a successful rangers player is doing just that. However it doesn’t work if you try that in Europe. We need a good variety of players to cover all the basis. It’s not an easy task. Look at Celtic ok they’ve swept the domestic honours I’ve the last decade but have been deplorable In Europe. And when we were on top in the late 80’s and 90’s we maybe had 1 good season in Europe and there was many a bad one.

Maybe this was the best result we could have hoped for. Had we won the cup maybe the exodus might not have been as clear cut as we look at 2 cups as being a good season. The goal against is criminal by wright but matando and wright jog back as poor raskin who is burst is trying to chase the Celtic player back . There were so many opportunities to avoid conceding that goal. 1. Wright should be controlling that pass. 2. Once the ball gets away from wright, he can't get there before the defender so he should have just held shape instead of chasing it down and getting caught out of position. 3. Raskin just needs to hold Bernardo up in the midfield, instead he dives in and is then caught out of position. If you're going to dive in like that then take the man down as well. 4. Centre backs just allowing Bernardo to bear down on goal and have a free shot. 5. Balogun & Tav caught ball watching allowing Idah to run between them both and tap it in. The ref was dire but nothing he done really swung the game in anyone's favor, The push on Hart was a foul and one that Raskin didn't need to do especially when he knows VAR check every goal. There are no VAR checks for the Sterling push because it wasn't a clear and obvious error or lead to an incident (Penalty, goal, red card offence etc). The issue for us is the complete lack of creativity in the midfield/up front and the abysmal defensive errors. We had 2 clear chances for us through Silva and Sima and they both hit absolutely tame efforts.

Both our full backs were poor. At the goal we had 4 defenders with Celtic having two up front and Bernardo attacking with the ball. We needed Davies to step forward and tackle Bernardo. Balogun lost his man Idah and Butland messed up also and it was pure luck it fell to Idah. So 3 mistakes led to the goal. Raskin could not keep up with Bernardo who had not been on long. Overall two poor teams and not much between them.

Look … in this seasons OF games Rangers have, on average, to score twice to get a goal that counts. I have long stopped trying to view the VAR calls against us on their own basis, the real metric to use is ‘would that call gone against Celtic’ and the answer is generally no. Every time we score against them there is a forensic process in the VAR room around ‘how can we rule this goal out’. What is that now, 4 disallowed goals in 5 games?
