Ranking ALL 271 Taunts in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

The super smash bros series is filled with taunts and super smash bros ultimate is no different. Each taunt in smash ultimate is used to express the character in so many different ways whether they be funny, toxic, or whatever else. With so many, however, 271 taunts total, there were bound to be some taunts that were not as good as the others. So in today's video I’m going to be ranking each of the individual 271 taunts in Super Smash bros ultimate from the worst to the best! I’ll also be placing the taunts in a tier list and at the end we’ll look at every smash ultimate character’s average to discover who has the overall best taunts!

I really wish they kept Sonic's "You're too slow!" for his taunt. I used to annoy the heck out of my opponents with it in Brawl, which gave me great pleasure.

Yeah. Basically they cut Sonic's personality entirely after brawl. He used to have those angry and impatient idle animations which fit his character perfectly and referenced his angry idle animations in Sonic CD, but it got changed to just happily waiting, which makes him look more like an innocent character, rather than an angry, impatient and egotistical one

Thing is, idk if Roger Craig Smith ever said that specific line for Sonic (ever since Smash 4, they reused existing RCS lines from other Sonic games) I know this voice actor is kinda divisive when it comes to playing as Sonic, but Smash (usually) tries to update voice actors if they’ve changed between games

I saw Bowser Jr. use his (I think) down taunt in Beefy Smash Doods’ Smash Review to fake out his opponent by tricking them into expecting a Side-B. It’s the rare taunt with some potential competitive use.

@@cheese5551 Yeah. I played Alot of the 3D Games, and 3D World is probably where he is very goofy. Beginning cutscenes he pops out of a clear pipe, the bottom of him is squished. Also he magically pulls Jars out of no where. And Meowser, sure he was serious, but come on how can you take this adorable guy seriously. This guy also had a pretty cool car. I just hope he had Car Insurance on that. Speaking of the Car battles, when you beat him the whole bridge falls and he just floats for a few seconds cartoony style and falls. During his car boss battles if you don't move or try to get close to him, he's like, "Hey Come on let's fight" yeah 3D World has a bit of a cartoony approach which is pretty cool.

Mario Odyssey, at the ending, he tried to get Peach with him over Mario, then Mario and Bowser start arguing and Peach rejects both of them. They both are sad with Mario comforting Bowser, which is pretty hilarious.

Just wanted to point out, Dr. Mario's "worst" taunt, where he's grinding his foot into the ground, could be a reference to Mario Power Tennis. Where during Luigi's celebration, Mario congratulates him by stepping on his foot and grinding it in. Not saying that makes the taunt better, or whatnot, but it does at least have a potential origin.

It's nice to hear somebody who enjoys the current "Sonic Speed!" taunt. While it's no "You're too slow!", I personally just really dig Sonic's delivery in that line. As much as I enjoy the thumbs-up Mario taunt, I do slightly miss his Mega Mushroom one from before. Obviously, it wouldn't work in the context of Ultimate and how it shortened taunts, but I like seeing Mario turn huge even if it makes him a giant target. For Bayonetta and Wolf, I like the up and side animations respectively. Wolf's "Are you scared?" fits his intimidating vibe well, but the line from Brawl, "What's the matter, scared?", was cooler. Likewise, Bayonetta's up taunt looked more elegant in Smash 4 with the long animation and the voice line was much better synced. Even so, the idea of taunting is fun. I like breaking them out while brawling against the AI or family. Very nice video.

Something you didn’t mention about the inkling taunts is two of them are references to the actual in game communication methods in splatoon :) being “this way” and “booyah” both having a unique animation based on weapon but the ones in smash line up with the splattershot the inkling uses! Corrin (and maybe some other charecters) have different voice lines depending on which gender you chose. Example: Male Corin Up Taunt: "My path is clear." Female Corrin Up Taunt: "Let's DO THIS!"

Honestly, Byleth doesn’t deserve the hate. It’s just that the last time we got a Fire Emblem DLC character, it was Corrin, who sucked as a character, was only in the game to advertise Fire Emblem Fates, and said game was really bad. Meanwhile, Three Houses was great, with great story and characters, and sold very well. Byleth just got saddled with being the last character of the first DLC pack, and was a huge letdown in terms of what the pack was. If Byleth were introduced at a different time, their inclusion wouldn’t have been so divisive.

Byleth got done dirty in this video, this might have been one of the only times I’ve seen Byleth have a worse score than Corrin, as much as I love the 2, they don’t do well for most people, in fact I main these 2 along with Chrom
