Right to me her and Apple had the best character development on the entire show. Briar legit went from taking her story and her time with her friends for granted and not taking her situation seriously to taking it very seriously and realizing just how fucked up and terrible her story is. And I love Apple’s development, I loved how she seemed so perfect in the beginning we were shown that she isn’t just some princess that her actions are understandable she loves people her subjects, her friends, and family, and she doesn’t want anyone to get hurt-now while no one agrees with how she handled it it’s understandable why she did-she doesn’t know if she, Raven, or anyone else will go poof if someone didn’t sign (and tbh we still don’t know what could happen if they don’t sign). I love that she slowly started seeing Raven’s side of things in Thronecoming but didn’t completely because her ideals still heavily outweighed Raven’s in her mind and she was still so desperate-understandably so-for her happily ever after we also see that Snow White is a loving mother, but also....a kind of controlling mother not that different from the Evil Queen when it comes to parenting, we see or it’s hinted at that Snow White sort of tries to live through Apple once she says “ *Our* Happily Ever After “ seemingly forgetting that she’s already living hers while Apple is barely even close to starting her story-she pressures Apple to push Raven towards Evil and Raven doesn’t seem to mind this either telling us that 1. Apple has done this tons of times before or 2. Raven also knows about Apple’s relationship with her Mother and relates to her on that and knowing Apple it could be both her pushing Raven towards Evil tons of times before because her Mother told her too. I love that part of her character it shows that she is nothing like Snow-that she is her own person. It’s very human how she goes right back to her ideals in Dragon Games-that’s a very human characteristic to me because Apple is 15 I believe and for the past 15 years she was told of how her story would go and how she would get her Happily Ever After through Raven those were her ideals and no human is going to just change their ideals just like that after 15 whole years! That’s literally like breaking a habit you’ve had for 10 years, it’s literally impossible to break a habit you’ve had for THAT long so quickly. Not only that but I loved the whole Holy and Poppy scenario where Poppy is the next Repunzel, I feel that that might’ve went somewhere in the actual series despite being one of the short episodes on KZbin, it had a lot of potential to go somewhere but now it’ll never go anywhere because the show is discontinued. Apple at first was my favorite character because she was a princess and I immediately attached onto that since I was in Elementary at the time, but after I grew up I didn’t like her ideals, so Raven became my fav characters because I loved her powers, her character, and her style, I loved what she stood for and her ideals matched mine “Be who you want to be!” Also I loved the whole Darling kiss thing, I wonder where they might’ve taken that, would Darling and Apple ended up becoming a couple or what???? And what about Raven and Dexter would they have stayed a couple or would they have broken up and Dexter would have gotten with Cupid 💘 cause we don’t get anything on their relationship after their Date episode, and I want more on Daring and Rosabella their a cute couple, she turned Daring into a better person.

For me personally I wasn’t bothered by how the show introduced “Disney characters” because a lot of these fairytales, quite literally everyone, existed before Disney. All these fairytales were made popular by Disney by eah intention was to stray away from the Disney classic for marketing purposes and other reasons. Also Justine Dancer probably always knew she was going to be the 12th dancing princess, but probably didn’t know she’d have the gift of eternal dance or sleep dancing basically. Considering how in her story she’d be awake during the night dancing.

Dexter's destinty is basically supposed to be Raven's King. In one of the Dolls, (either Raven Queen or Evil Queen, not sure.) A story was written there, basically saying how Raven was born. Raven's mom had met a king and fell in love, so I assume if Raven went the evil route , Dexter would have been that king.

Actually, duchess wants someone else’s story bc in the original tale of the swan princess, she ends up dying to a curse. So ig she wanted someone else’s story but she would only settle for a princess’s story

In the books, Duchess is considered a Royal because of her princess status and the fact that she’s not really supposed to be evil in her story. It mentioned that she is the only Royal to not have a Happily Ever After and her jealousy grew towards the other Royals hence why she wants to steal theirs.

I always thought that Dexter Charming is the 'Good King'. Daring Charming is the Beast (obviously), and Darling Charming is the Prince(ss) from Snow (Apple) White. Mira Shards is the Wicked Queen... Cheshire Cat didn't 'go evil' so much as she pulled a prank that had very sever consequences. Mostly to teach Kitty how to consider the more chaotic elements of long term results, as opposed to short term meanness. Pranks are not about mean. They are about the stories that can be told after - and there should Always be an out. Kitty didn't quite get that at first. I think of it like a well fed house cat teaching a kitten how to stalk prey. They don't kill it, they play with it. Which can seem cruel to the outside view even though to the cat it's simply keeping up a skill set. When you said "Snow White's son and daughter going to school" I immediately thought of that ill-fated TV show The Charmings. Very boring. This made your point about Raven Queen stand out quite a bit. A story needs a good villain, even if the only thing they do 'wrong' is make you think about the status quo and how that affects others. This was quite a good video. Well done.

I forgot which story was The Good King from...isn’t he Raven’s and Snow White’s dad? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He’s always been this clumsy cute nerd type of Prince that’s always been so kind hearted, the Good King if I’m not mistaken has Raven with the Evil Queen and Raven is suppose to be the next Evil Queen and he and Raven are together so far as we know after their date episode. OMG Who is the Wicked Queen???? I’ve tried looking her up but it only shows the Evil Queen, is the Wicked Queen ever actually mentioned in the series???

I've always been really sympathetic towards Apple. She's not a bad person, she was scared of dying, and of having an uncertain future. She grew up genuinely believing that her friends would "poof" if anybody didn't sign the book. Also, there's a great scene in the book where Apple says that even if she was destined to be an evil witch, she would follow that destiny wholeheartedly (and the narrator and Raven confirms she's telling the truth).

Heck Apple said in Thronecoming that she wanted to fulfill her destiny to take care of the people she loves including Raven, the only downside is that she's been so opposed of the Rebels that she failed to realize some of them might rather go poof than follow the horrible path which is made for them, Apple in general is just another flawed character whom has good intentions but does hurtful actions and I think the hate is just like a train tbh

@@swirl..9727 Exactly. Apple isn't bad or anything. It's understandable to see why people think she's incredibly selfish for not wanting the others to not follow their destiny. At the same time, she doesn't know what will truly happen if they don't follow their destinies and she wants everyone to be safe, while also having a family and people around her who constantly tell her how important her destiny is. It's also easy to follow that when you have the best happily ever after while other people have worse or bad destinies and like you said, would rather take the risk of going poof instead of following that.

I also love them both! I love Raven because she’s a sympathetic character who gets joy out of helping others, and was scared that she would become corrupt if she signed the book. Her flaws are the reasons I like her, which says a lot considering I like characters based off of the positive things I love Apple because she’s one of the most loyal characters, only wanted everyone to sign the book so they wouldn’t go ‘poof’, and had faith in everyone. Though, she was a little naive and selfish

Yes I agree that she made a mistake by letting Raven's mom out of the prison, but everyone makes mistakes. And at the time Apple's mom was pressuring her to do better, and the Evil Queen saw this and took advantages of her insecurities. At the end of this season Apple told the Evil Queen that she made a mistake and didn't want her destiny and that she just wanted her friends back. Then she admitted that she was wrong (which is a hard thing to do) to all her friends and also apologized for her actions too. Then she help save everyone from the Evil Queen. I think that Apple has flaws and made mistakes but that she gets a lot of unjust hate for a few mistakes that she helped fix in the end.

EAH could've been amazing but then it had to screw itself over with half-assed plotlines like with the Storybook of Legends being destroyed so easily and storylines like Cerise and the O'Hair siblings being erased due to it, instead of actually exploring them and creating a more compelling narrative.

The royal vs rebel thing actually isn’t that hard for me. You’re lucky if you were born into a life where your ending is a happily ever after. But aside from having to be forced into a role, i would never expect someone to be forced into their destiny if their destiny is just them being punished, imprisoned and in despair, while you get to be happy. It’s not really fair. And no one of those characters should ever be called selfish for wanting a better life for themselves cause they deserve is as much as royals do.

YAAAASSS. Darling is soooooo good. And especially the fact that she is Apple's True Love was such a shocker. And it's such a shame they didnt get to explore that. Because they could have gone two ways about it and both involve either Apple or Darling switching what side of the royal/rebel conflict they are on. First way the story could have gone is that since Darling is Apple's True Love, that makes her the Prince(ss) of the Snow White story and thus is no longer stuck in the damsel role she was expected to play(her reason for being a Rebel) and therefore has gone from being a Rebel to a Royal. The other possibility is people like Headmaster Grimm focusing on the gender specificity of it being a Primce Charming and disregarding True Love's Kiss. Thereby having Apple be labeled a Rebel for dating Darling. Logically, having Darling just becoming a Royal because of her being the snow white Prince(ss) thanks to True Love's Kiss make more sense than Apple being labeled a Rebel; because everyone in Ever After talks about how practically sacred True Love's Kiss is, so I can't see them ignoring that. But at the same time, the royal vs rebel thing feels like Conservative vs Liberal/Progressive ideals and therefore they might treat heterosexual relationships more important than True Love's Kiss. Basically, Apple being labeled a Rebel is the more cynical outcome in that her mom and Authority might not approve of her relationship with Darling; while Darling being accepted as a Royal is the more optimistic outcome for how their parents and the authority might react. Both options have positive and negatives in the story for how EAH could have gone.

How does it mess up everyone else’s story if Raven decides to not sign? Wouldn’t it only affect The Snow White Story? Also wouldn’t Raven be ruining the stories anyways if she decided to go through with her destiny because her mom invaded all fairytales and the storybook said she had to do the same? Also if you think about it, Apple was the one who came up with the whole “we could all go poof” to try to rally the other royals. Headmaster Grimm said only Raven and her specific story would go poof. But then again is she connected to all stories since she’s destined to ruin them all? Raven herself _wants_ her terrible story to go poof, Darling doesn’t care as long as she gets to save people instead of being a damsel in distress, whereas Dexter is dating Raven regardless so probably nothing will change. Apple is the only one who isn’t getting what she wants, and to try so hard to push her own ideals on people is just wrong. Being the future queen of all doesn’t excuse you from not letting people write their own happily ever afters. Does Apple care that Raven is gonna get jailed and chained up for eternity after poisoning her? Does she care that Ashlynn won’t be able to experience true love with Hunter after signing the storybook of legend? Does she care that Briar is gonna fall asleep for 100 years and watch her friends all DIE? Right now, it seems to me that Apple is ignorant and selfish.

Apple's story is more in depth in the books. I feel like some of you would like and understand Apple more if you read the book "The Story Book of Legend". It explains why Apple wanted her destiny so bad not just because of selfishness, but something else. I highly recommend it.

But if Mattel hadn't done that, Crystal never would have existed to be honest.

Raven Queen will forever be my favorite character in EAH. She's bold and outgoing, but also sweet and sincere. And dont get me started on her outfits. She's the reason why purple is my favorite color 😁🥰 I REALLY hope that eah will return now that Descendants is over. There were so many dolls lines that Mattel created for EAH that we never got to see play out in actual episodes. Like just the other day, I saw that there was a Bunny x Alistair date pack where it looked like they were at a carnival. It was so cute! I also would've loved to see Dexter and Raven's relationship play out more after their first date, they're my OTP hands down, cutest couple imo

I love Kitty i love her mischievousness and I love that she finally learns that not everything is a joke that in life in reality you HAVE to take something’s seriously-you have to realize when it’s okay and when it’s not okay to take things as a joke, I love Kitty’s mom. I love the parents in Ever After, they actually all love their kids and I really love that it shines away from the stereotype that “bad guys don’t love their kids”, just because their bad or do bad things doesn’t mean they don’t love their kids-like how Descendants literally only Evil Queen and Ja’far only loved their kids no other bad guy did. I don’t like that just cause their Quote unquote “Evil” doesn’t mean they aren’t good parents. I also love Winder season-the winter princess and how she became independent which I feel every parent shouldn’t baby their kid for TOO long when raising them and should make sure they know how to do things on their own when the time comes, because every person needs to learn how to be independent in their life eventually and it’s best to start at least when you become a pre-teen One of my all time favorite plot twist was finding out that the Narrators daughter was the EAH logo, THAT WAS SO GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And now we’re finding out Brooke wants to write her own destiny too, I feel she won’t stray completely from her destiny but will just become the type of narrator that actually interferes when the story doesn’t go in her favor. Bruh I really wanted more about Brooke I really like her Right I don’t like Daring and Apple together they just never clicked to me, they never seemed into each other-they seemed to only acknowledge the fact that they’ll end up together purely because their destiny says they will, Apple even says they aren’t together “Blondie, Daring and I are still not a couple, this is high school! We have forever after to be together” (literally remembered that quote from memory 😂) showing that they don’t even harbor feelings towards each other and prolly only see the other as a means to get their Happily Ever Afters, and when she has they have forever after to be together to me that hints that they basically gave each other permission to date other people until their Happily Ever After. And to me the Storybook of legends only reveals to them what THEY (the student) believes their Happily Ever After will be like which is why we see Raven’s so terrible and Apple is living the dream and vanishing Raven away despite the fact that we know that they care of each other so I’d like to see their story pages now and what would they look like now with all the new development 11:16 that makes sense now that you mention it like I admit their a cute couple, but now looking back at it it really feels like Ashlynn doesn’t have much of a character outside of being Hunter’s girlfriend the same for Hunter he doesn’t really have much of a character outside of being a “damsel n’ distress” saver and being Ashlynn’s boyfriend I like Lizzy’a strong willed but soft personality so much I love that Apple doesn’t wait for opportunities she’s makes one, she knows what she wants and she’s determined to get it and I admire that about her-to me it’s a very desirable trait Raven is the best and is one of the best characters she did create the chain reaction, she literally made the impossible possible, without her no one would have ever had the guts to rewrite their own destinies and him feel her most important role was giving others the courage to follow their hearts

I personally can’t stand Apple. She assumes from the start that Raven wants what she wants. She is selfish and tells Raven that she’ll ”come around”. She is the reason the evil queen took over EAH. I get that she threw the Apple, but everything else was her fault. Just for her happy ending, even if it could’ve destroyed everyone else’s. I thought she moved past all that in the wonderland season where she helped Raven overcome her new dark powers. I just… Apple isn’t my slice of pie (pun intended).

I know there is a (semi?) popular theory that Duchess Swan is actually the daughter of the Black Swan aka Odile instead of the White swan aka Odette. And personally I hate that theory. Because Duchess being the daughter of the black swan kind of takes away the nuance of her character because if shes the daughter of the black swan OF COURSE shes going to be conniving and antagonistic. Those are the major characteristics of the black swan. And that's what Ever after high is against. Having to follow in your parents footsteps and pre-determined destiny. But the daughter of the white swan being antagonistic and cut-throat in her methods of trying to stop herself from having to surrender to a terrible fate is so much more interesting because those are traits not assigned to the white swan because the white swan is supposed to be innocent and kind. If you agree with the theory about Duchess being the daughter of the black swan that is fine, but personally I think it's less interesting than how she already is in the show.

@@Alisonsgachaverse Like I said, not saying you can't agree with the theory. But Duchesses' swan form being black *could* potentially just be a design choice and not actually mean anything. Although on the other hand, Apple is the daughter of Snow White, and Snow White usually has black hair while Apple is blonde. Now, I DO know this is apparently something addressed in the books (which I haven't actually read), so Apple being blonde could potentially mean something outside of just being a design choice. Though for Duchess, I still think it's just a design choice. Again, not saying the Duchess is daughter of the Black Swan theory is incorrect. I just personally disagree with it. :)

tbh ofc apple wants her happy ending but if you think about it that exact ending is only possible if her mother dies, Raven has to marry apples significantly older father, ban apple, try to kill her even tho they are friends, get banned herself and then get trapped for ever after. All that so that apple can marry that charming guy and have children. Apple is the most selfish in the whole show because she can achieve exactly that without Raven having to suffer. Apple is just an over-privilidged girl that cant accept that the world doesnt spin around her.

Actually you don't have to follow the damsel in distress trope to be a damsel in distress. Some damsels in distress figure out how to solve their own problems. They are not always reliant on a man to rescue them from their problems. A damsel is a young unmarried woman, so technically speaking any young woman that hasn't been married and is in distress fits the bill of damsel in distress even if they don't match the trope we often discourage.

I had this theory about Kitty's mom's version of the Cheshire Cat. What if, yes the Cheshire cat is meant to be a trickster and a chaotic neutral...but Kitty's Mom was one who tried to make their story more of a pure chaotic being evil rather than chaotic neutral? It would explain why she was trying to make her daughter go bigger and bigger, while Milton and Giles were perfectly happy with her continuing to play more childish pranks as her destiny.

I don't really like the story of the original Cinderella or the cannibalism of the ancient fairytales. I only like the Hansel and Gretel story because Gretel is the example of a strong woman. ( yes I know they are little kids In the story. )Since she saves Hansel and is the one two push the evil candy witch in the oven and burning the villain alive. Saving both herself and her brother. Charmings get to be anyone's prince charming. Like Daring thought he was the prince charming of Apple White (Snow White's prince) but it turned out he was prince charming of Rosabella (Belle's prince). So I guess if Dexter ever gets with Raven together he might be the The King of The Evil King. Like he could be portraying father of Snow White and later on married The Evil Queen. However Raven doesnt want to be the next Evil Queen so I guess maybe Dexter would choose also to rebel but idk. I think charming princes are confusing and have a hard time to find their destiny.

my absolute favorite characters are Raven ,Maddy and Lizzie. Raven is truthful and sweet ,Maddie is fun and kind ,Lizzie is rightful and honest (reminds me of Abbey from MH who is also one of my favorites) Apple is an important character who had become better and I kind of understand where she was coming from, her design is also beautiful but I cannot pick her as a favorite character, and as friendly as she is I can't imagine being friends with Apple for example ,way too "perfect" and shining (her character is flawed but you know what i mean) I loved CA cupid skeleton wings in MH ,but I'm glad she is a prominent character in EAH On the boys side ,i kinda started liking Daring the more we learned more of him ,Dexter is cute and I love raven x dexter ship ,I don't like Sparrow at all the sounds he makes grate my ears haha anyway all or most of the characters of EAH are really pretty and the dolls are beautfiul 'at least the earler ones) so I'm glad i don't collect dolls otherwise I would be so broke...I'll just..admire them haha
