Some buffs I could see or want to see some of the lower ranked Pokemon getting -Silvally: give it a bigger move pool, buff the memory items, increase the power of the move Multi-Attack -Regigigas: it would be nice if there was a move that allowed a Pokemon to give the next Pokemon being swapped in it’s ability (but that would invite the horror that is Huge Power Urshifu) -Guzzlord/Regice: the only niche they have is having a single huge stat, so the only way they could improve would be adding “HP/Sp. Def version of Body Press” -Wo-Chien: I don’t know, add an item that reduces super effective damage that isn’t a one time use berry?

Sylvally should just get 630 BST and every stat at 105. All stats equal is a shit distribution so it wouldn't be banworthy-good but it could be OU. 600 BST if they want to play it safe IG Also it should have a move that deals extra damage to ultra beasts (including necrozma/solgaleo/lunala)

I kinda have a soft spot for Guzzlord. Love the thematics of it where it's like an Eldritch horror version of Snorlax. Game mechanics-wise though yeah I can take it or leave it. I could see it working decently as a bulky attacker stats were distributed differently. Either focusing the stats on one of the defences like Blissey or balancing them a bit more. Obviously making it a non-mixed attacker would be ideal, but I can see why they want to keep Guzzlord fairly even between physical and special attacks, since presumably with its endless maw it has a strong bite, but could also be easily imagined to exhale strong special attacks. Still though, I don't think even with these changes that Guzzlord would dethrone Xurkitree as my favorite Ultra Beast

Played a lot of Gen 7 Ubers myself (as I know you did too, Jim) and I regrettably cannot remember Naganadel being that powerful. It was absolutely great when it worked, and Dragon/Poison stab is insane for covering the fairy immunity and having Fire Blast as the final option was very strong, but I think in one of the highest power level Ubers formats we've seen, it sadly fell a little short. Still one of my favourite mons to use, so happy to see it rank so highly

There actually is a format where Poipole is good- Cross Evolution. In this format, you can nickname a pokemon with the name of another pokemon to gain the stat boosts associated with that evolution. Stat, typing, and ability changes granted by any evolution are determined by their respective changes from their previous evolution. So, for example, you can nickname a pokemon "Milotic" and have that pokemon gain the stats that feebas would gain from evolving into Milotic (which is very good since feebas gains a lot of stats when it evolves.) The reason why Poipole is good is because it is a tier 1 pokemon- in other words, it is the base form in an evolutionary chain. A pokemon is only allowed to gain the stats for evolving into tier 2 if that pokemon is a tier 1. Poipole has excellent stats for a tier 1, and it can gain a lot of stats for evolving into a tier 2, such as milotic. So I used it all the time to great success

I once went on a rant and am utterly convinced that someone at GameFreak absolutely loathed Guzzlord and gave him as little to work with as possible. Like the typing for example, good offensively good resistances and an immunity, but weak to one of the most common moves U Turn, weak to some of the most common coverage types in fighting and ice, weak to powerful nuke moves like Draco Meteor, and a quad weakness to debatably the best type in the game. Don’t get me started on everything else

Like Satattacka has a bad typing too but they a least gave them the tools to make the most of it, the speed being so low makes them perfect for trickroom and steel + rock is not a bad combo offensively but...Guzzlord its not strong enough on either end to be a great breaker, its bulky but really not that bulky with those low defenses, its typing works on something faster but is just a middle tier combo on something slow as guzz.

Glastrier was actually meta defining for a while in Gen 8 VGC. It has immense bulk when dynamaxed and great coverage. That alongside moxie made it one of the best trick room sweepers in a format dominated by trick room.

Doubles player here. Just popped in to say Glastrier was actually quite excellent in certain VGC formats in Sword and Shield. It was a trick room sweeper whose incredible bulk, solid movepool, and good ability more than nullified it's mono Ice typing. It was a common Dynamax Pokemon, since it learns Ground and Steel type moves that made it (and its partner) even bulkier. An all around solid Weakness Policy Pokemon. Calyrex Ice remains solid in Gen 9, but I basically haven't seen Glastrier all generation, so it's not beating the washed allegations, but it was a quite solid Pokemon while it had the option to Dynamax. You'd think the reworking of Hail into Snow and the ability to shed its Ice typing through Terastalization would help it, but with two Ursalunas to contend with on Trick Room and better Ice pokemon like Articuno on Snow it just hasn't carved out a niche.

Urshifu-RS's Uber status in Gen 9 is definitely the biggest visual indicator of how different Gen 9 OU and Gen 9 NatDex OU are. While the buffs Urshifu received helps, the big reason why it is broken in Gen 9 is that a lot of its best offensive and defensive checks from Gen 8 are either nerfed (Toxapex) or removed (Ferrothorn, Tapus, Kartana, Buzzwole, etc). Case in point: it is banned very early upon its release in Gen 9 OU, while it is still a perfectly legal mon in Gen 9 NatDex OU.

Imo I think Ogerpon Cornerstone and regular Ogerpon should switch places. Everything said is true for both, but one thing not mentioned is the 1.2x boost in attack that Cornerstone gets from its item. Cornerstone can consistently hit harder than regular Ogerpon without getting any of the drawbacks from Life Orb or Choice Band.

Honestly, whenever I see Munkidori, I end up comparing it to mons from the first few gens like Alakazam, Gengar and Latios and feel so underwhelmed by it considering that it's arguably worse than all three. Funnily enough, though, a team featuring it managed to finish in third place on SV's in-game ranked Singles latter (i.e., Battle Stadium Singles) on June during Reg G, supporting Terapagos alongside Whimsicott, Skeledirge, Ting-Lu and Galarian Weezing. Coming from someone somewhat familiar with that format, that's a pretty insane feat for it. That team was even first place at one point!

Everyone is looking at Wo-Chien wrong It’s a Choice Specs Pokemon…. It can outbulk a lot in 1v1s and with Tera Poison it can beat any Fairy types, run it with Tera blast, Dark pulse, Giga drain, and Leaf Storm… put enough special to OHKO Pelipper with Leaf Storm and put the rest in HP and Defense

I really think the Lake Guardians should have been made Fairy type back in Gen 6, would have been a huge boost to all three of them. Azelf would be so nasty, not only as a suicide lead but as a specs or nasty plot sweeper firing off huge STAB moonblasts, Uxie would be a valid alternative to Cresselia as a Trick Room setter or calm mind booster and Mesprit would be… still not great but definitely a more useful utility mon and could use its decent bulk and attacking stats more effectively while being a decent cleric. I don’t think the last two would step on the toes of Florges or Aromatisse much either, since Florges is a special wall CM guy and Aromatisse doesn’t exist in serious play anyways. Psychic really cripples them. Hell, even making them dual typing would be better than the current mono-Psychic but still I think mono-fairy would be a boon to all three of them.
