10:56 when I was a kid and my dad showed me Transformers for the first time I immediately loved Soundwave's voice in the first episode and that scene of him commanding the "Tidal Wave" to RUMBLE cemented him as one of the GOATs in my eyes. He's got just such a cold and calculated facemask/helmet with a monotone voice yet is full of character.

One of my favourite episodes in the entire show had to be ‘The Secret of Omega Supreme’ because it really made me love the constructicons as a team due to their history as Autobot builders. It also gave an element of tragedy between Omega’s rivalry with Devastator as a whole.

Regarding AKOM, the one thing that I’ll say about that studio is that AKOM (Animation Korea Movie) was the first major South Korean animation studio, who cut its teeth taking on gruntwork like Transformers and other 80s and 90s cartoons in their early days as they honed their craft. They improved greatly, later working on the hand-drawn era of the Simpsons, and helped to establish modern Korean animation. So, as uggo as their TF work is, I would cut them a bit of slack for helping to give Korea a presence in the world of animation.

Yeah, it seems as though Nelson Shin was able to convince his bosses at Marvel that the cost savings that his own company (AKOM) could provide over Toei was worth the lower animation quality.

How does no one ever mention that Dark of the Moon has some homages to Megatron's Master Plan? Simmons in the wheelchair watching the Autobots be banished from Earth after a smear campaign, and returning after their rocket exploded. There are a few bits that nobody seems to have picked up on.

Things like the recent War for cybertron and the prime animated series both showed how you could modernise the designs without making them a jumbled mess of scrap metal. For example, it's a common joke in the TF fandom thatbayverse optimus is a psychopath who only leads the autobots because it lets him rip faces off.

Cybertron being a quintesson factory planet is an amazing origin story. I just wish they had done more with it. It just puts so much depth into things like Skyfire choosing to be an Autobot and Thundercracker being insecure about the war. But it also puts the periods of peace on Cybertron into a new light, both sides managed to have peace for long periods despite their programming.

Auto-bop is my fav g1 episode mostly because I simp for my boy soundwave and love him to pieces. The fact that he wins vs sound blaster 1v1 until sound blaster has to make a new weapon is amazing. Man the God Gambit was one of my favorite episodes in G1 because it’s basically Jazz episode which I love. Astrotrain got the spotlight and showed his command prowess. Seeing Perceptor doing his thing was fun. Thrust was a coward and Starscream was Starscream. I actually liked the aliens this episode. Plus I kinda got the message that there are people who will use religion as an excuse to subjugate and suppress the people. Plus this episode had some great jokes. Omega Supreme’s “sarcasm not appreciated” and Jazz’s “Don’t you just hate sore losers?” Overall was one of my favorite episodes and Jazz is my favorite

Yeah, "God Gambit" was one of the few episodes to do "sci fi as social commentary". When I was a young kid, it sailed over my head. When I was an adult, it felt heavy-handed. But I think if I had seen it from age 9-12, I would have found it really bold and deep.

My favorite episodes are, unsurprisingly, the rather screamer episodes. Jetfires episode is really good it gives a good thing with how screamer did at one point really value others. In the second season, red alerts one episode where he goes paranoid but trusts the one backstabbing guy around is hilarious to me. Though the triple changer rebellion episode almost beats it. Though I also really like the time travel episode where it shows off how rescourful screamer is vs. Megatron, who often has just brute force things. The third season, by far my favorite, is the episode Ghost screamer shows up both episodes show how much screamer is crafty at using others. Plus, when he does get his body from unicron, the immediate betrayal is also pretty in character, but also I wish that unicron could emote a bit better so they could do a surprise Pikachu face as screamer does the most obvious thing to do.

I already ready know my favorite episode. I think it was called “Heavy Metal War”, where we are introduced to Devastator for the first time and he takes on the Dinobots for the first time as well. I've never liked the idea that the Autobots and Decepticons could just build new Transformers from scratch. I'll excuse the Dinobots, since they have primitive brains showing the limitations of Wheeljack's ability to create life, but the Constructicons always should have been reinforcements from Cybertron. One of the strengths of "Beast Wars" is that the very first episode establishes how new characters will be introduced (via protoform pods). In G1, they never establish a consistent answer. Some writers apparently thought it was OK for new Transformers to be built from scratch with relative ease, while others wanted there to be more to it than that. What I both love and hate about Season 2 is that they had so little production time available that it feels like they just approved every pitch they got. And then Season 3 seems like they were deliberately trying to be bigger and weirder than what came before.

Tornedron might be one of the most underutilized characters in the Transformers, hell in all of fiction possible. I think there’s something terrifying about a being of pure energy who can turn into anything and drain energy on a galactic scale and the fact that it could possibly rival Unicron in power if it got enough power is an interesting concept, I hope they use Tornedron in the future, cause power like that makes Kreemzeek look like a triple A battery.

One of the things about watching it back in the day is that when new characters appeared, you didn't know that they were going to get new toys. We didn't know anything about "diaclone" or any of the other Japanese toylines, so we had no idea that characters like the Insecticons and Dinobots would make their way onto the shelves. I swear in my memory I found the Arialbots gift set in the store within a few days of them debuting on the show. I was super excited.

'Starscream's Brigade' & 'The Revenge of Bruticus' for me a combo as my #1. Combaticons were my fav TFs & were a great toy/well written tv. Megatron & Prime teaming up to save the Earth from the Sun is classic, as is the utterly out of nowhere intro of the Protectobots! Cosmic flourishes foreshadowing The Movie & S3 to come also aged nicely. Bruticus' lifting up Megatron to his face is a fun visual.

I love how in Divide and Conquer Optimus basically has a bomb go off right on top of his spark chamber and lives, but later gets only a fraction of that damage in a less vital place further down his body and promptly dies. Either Ratchet was really skilled, or Perceptor was really inept!

Well it was never told that Optimus died exactly from the exact stab, that Megatron gave him. Optimus always "succumbed to his wounds" as like he died not being able to handle the damage he got through assault on the city and battle against Megatron. ( And to mention Ratchet and Wheeljack were dead at the point of repairing Optimus. And Jackie's time cline from Alternators's line didn't arrive yet. Even Sparkplug was dead, so Perceptor was the only and first go to doctor wreckers had )

Damn this was a good watch Take a good break man And btw, i believe when megatron was talking about "the ultimate weapon" in season 1, he was talking about turning cybertron into a cosmic dreadnought, you can see it in the comics. And i believe he may have also partially fulfilled this in the rebirth, when he built that massive rocket engine on cybertron, as a way to move the planet around. I was trying to tie together all the plot holes in g1 and personally, im pretty proud of this theory.

I was the same as you, as Transformers Armada was technically my first transformers series, but I also had vhs tapes of G1 show and The movie, and I rewatched them, especially the movie so much as a kid on vhs. And it was many years later when I started college that I watched all of G1 and I love it! I guess I remember armada foundry but I have only seen it once as a kid and haven’t seen it since. So I guess this is why G1 is one of my favorite/ and I will always prefer those original designs. I had my mouth opened so wide when watching the beginning of the Bumblebee movie in the Theater! Lol

I wished they could let Rodimus continue his role as Leader Optimus didn't work with the other characters? Rodimus regained Cybertron held peace conferences on Cybertron, inherited protecting earth and helping Melissa Morgan on earth space command, as well as fighting the Decepticons and the creators. I understand why Rodimus got burned out? He had way more responsibility than Optimus only had one battle front protecting earth from Decepticons trying to steal Earth resources? But he still let Megatron build a space bridge? As a kid you don't realize how much the Autobots capitalized in Rodimus campaign? As a kid you are biased to the characters you love?! But for me I could relate to Hotrod and as a adult with Rodimus Prime.

I loved this mammoth video. There have been a lot of pacafist Autobots in this series. I love all of them except for Cerebros. Perceptor is a scientist, Beach comber loved nature, first aid is a medic, sandstorm was from a fallen paradise. But Cerebros is selfish. He hates war, and doesn't want to fight, but joins the autobots anyways. He just bums off them and let's them do all the fighting. There isn't anything interesting about him besides the fact that he's a headmaster and Spike becomes his headmaster.

City of steel is my favourite episode. It’s just so stupid. The seekers flying into the building for no reason, prime’s line about his legs, the big and heavy line, the arm stuck on the Empire State Building, the autobots driving straight down a hole etc.

Fire in the Sky is an episode that stuck with me over the years. Starscream was always one of my favorite characters (if you’re reading this, and you haven’t watched the fanmade Starscream OVA, drop what you’re doing and plug that in the KZbin search bar right now, you won’t be disappointed), and Skyfire/Jetfire became a favorite in later incarnations. It’s the first time we ever really see a glimpse of the more nuanced differences between the factions, seeing Decepticons and Autobots switch sides. It’s also the first time we get to see a bit of Starscream’s “humanity,” or at least hints that it used to be there when he and Skyfire had been friends, and that’s something later series would explore a lot more. Definitely my favorite episode.
