Dembele is tampered with injuries and isn't a good finisher. Secondly if they wanted money they should've sold Messi for 200m to City. 100m Cash this year+100m salary cost reduction =200m money available this year and they'd get 100m next year. Thirdly, considering my bold second statement : Yes he is still the best player of their team however 100m a year, ever since he signed that contract he hasn't won something significant (coming close in 2019 with almost winning UCL) BDR 2019 I personally think should've gone for VVD' for his impact, however that's an whole other discussion. + he is going to be on a decline anyways (age factor affects every player, the discussion is at what rate.) If you have a 20m contract why would you renegotiate your contract? Now with the C-crisis Pique FDJ, Ter stegen got yelled on by others in the dressing room for their new contracts (lower salary for Covid19 structure). Others should just act by an example

As much as I love Ronaldinho, and I believe he was exaggerating when he was saying Messi was better than him while Ronaldinho was there, I think Neymar should be above him on this list, purely because Messi only played 2 seasons with Ronaldinho as a starting XI member whereas Neymar was always a starter during his time there. Personally I'd have a slightly different top 5: 1. Luis Suarez 2. Ronaldinho 3. David Villa 4. Neymar 5. Samuel Eto'o I feel like David Villa and Messi were destined to play together. Their chemistry together was apsolutely insane. An argument could be made that their partnership was even better than Suarez-Messi and Ronaldinho-Messi, but Suarez was at Barca longer and Ronaldinho being Messi's father figure was crucial to his success. The point is that David Villa gets overlooked so much, people seem to forget what a complete player he was. He could have played any attacking position, any role and could fit into any football system and philosophy known to man.

On his day Ronaldinho was UNPLAYABLE. Better than anyone ever on his day. Even Messi. Just a single game I'm talking, like Ronaldinho at his best vs Messi. What makes Messi the absolute GOAT is he can do it pretty much every game, his consistency is unreal. His numbers are ridiculous, Ronaldinho can't even compare. But when he was having one of his games where he was on fire, he was godlike. Apparently he was the greatest kid footballer of all time. Like no one was anywhere near as good as him as a kid. Like there has never been a better 13yr old player ever if you get what I mean, including Messi etc. His youth team once won like 29-0 I think, something like that and he scored ALL 29 goals. Mental. Sadly he didn't have that drive that Messi and Ronaldo have. He didn't really care about being as good as he possibly could. Party guy who often turned up late for training and was often overweight etc. Who knows how great he could have been with that mental drive to be the best at all times.
