Growing up a Suns fan my favorite 6th man had to be Leandro Barbosa. Faster player in the league some years and those backdoor cuts were almost unstoppable
@Cardb334 жыл бұрын
There are many great players on this list but something overlooked on Ginobili's part is that he had the skill set to be a Superstar in the League but sacrificed that for team success. Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford are amazing but outside of high volume scoring they aren't great at much else. Ginobili easily could have been the #1 option on a good team if he wanted to be. 24-26 PPG, solid Rebounding and top level 2-Guard Playmaking coupled with more than passable defensive skills would have been 100% attainable if he wanted to command a team of his own. He sacrificed Max Contracts, the Spotlight, the perennial All-Star selections and the recognition that comes with it all for the success of his team and in the end he won 4 NBA Championships for it. He's my choice for Best 6th Man in the History of the game.

I love Michael Cooper and Bobby Jones. The guys could shoot but I love dudes who play tenacious lock down defense. The type of defense that even gets their teammates hyped up. I'll always remember Jones in my mind tearing down the court and leaping to block a shot or throwing down a big ass power dunk on the opposing team. Great list man.

@NOYOUSHUTUP3.144 жыл бұрын
Before McHale broke his foot he was very athletic, during the 86' season Boston used to run the tallest line-up in NBA history with Parrish, Walton, Bird , DJ and McHale. McHale would usually play defense on the two guard or small forward in those lineups and when the Celts would play Atlanta or L.A. McHale would d 'Nique or Worthy when he and Bird were on the floor together pre-foot injury his quickness and reflexes along with his wingspan and deceptive strength made him one of the most unique defenders in League history. He should receive far more credit for his defense than he currently gets. I am glad I grew up when I did and I got to see everybody save Havliceck play. Those Bad Boy Pistons teams when they would run out 'Zeke , Joe D and Vinnie usually with Worm or Salley and Laimbeer and just demolish teams or when LA would play Coop, Magic, Worthy and Byron Scott with Cap or Mychal Thompson and run you to death or when Nellie would go with Pressey , Pierce and Moncrief, that's how the term "Point Forward" got traction. When Bobby Jones would get on the court with Dr. J and turn the passing lanes into fast break dunks, there is always a place for innovative coaches to get creative when they have a great sixth man. Spoelestra has been doing some interesting things with Dragic this year as well. Other honorable mentions: Thurl Bailey , Thunder Dan, John Starks, usualy any Don Nelson coached team would have a strong sixth man. The list could go on. Thanks for the vid and not succumbing to recency bias.
@makis73834 жыл бұрын
Eric Gordon deserves at least an honourable mention. Averaging around 16-18ppg coming off the bench while being one of the best 3pt shooters (he shoots so many that's why his percentage isn't eye popping) and a solid defender.
