You mentioned this band a number of years ago on your forgotten favorites series and I listened to and bought the debut which is incredible. Sounds like it could have been made today in 2025. Great album.

Recall the personal reaction when you mentioned this band and the debut on another SoT episode - Toad? But the album deserves all the praise you give it here. Thanks for the review episode, Pete, as had only listened to that first album. Now have the others on the SoT listening list. Thanks again.

Yes Pete covered them in the past and I think the youtube channel Noble Records has covered Toad too, Dillon is a big fan of them as well.

hey, Pete! First and formeost, I really like Toad, so this is a cool "ranking" show...and, please do not take this as a detrimental comment whatsoever, but I'm glad to see you finally give a mention, without part of the "ranking," of the live albums from the band you're "ranking"...something I wish could've been done in the past. Just a "shout out" to stuff like that to make viewers aware of their existence. Cheers!

Pete thanks for talking Toad. Discovered them 10-12 yrs ago. Surprisingly I like their 2nd record most, 8.5/10. 1st one good too…8/10. 3rd record 6/10. Cool band esp on those first 2 records.

I know and like the first two Toad albums, but never dug any further into the catalog, so thus should be interesting for me. I probably like the first one the best, but they're so different that it sort of depends on my mood. Thanks for the video, Pete!

Cool you are talking about Toad. I discovered them when Pig's Walk came up on Pandora. Great almost unknown band.

Pretty good band, I've got: B.U.F.O., s/t, Open Fire - Live In Basel, Tomorrow Blue, Behind The Wheels, Dreams, Stop This Crime, Yearnin' Learnin' - Live 1978. Ties to prog band Island (pretty 'out there' 1977 album called Pictures) & Brainticket. As Pete said Vic Vergeat is the highlight here - he's got several solo albums out that I'm still hunting down under the Vic Vergeat Band. I do have the 2 disk collection called Prog Exhibition 2 - Il Festival Della Musica Immaginifica that features a couple of their tracks (along with Steve Hackett, Richard Sinclair and Arti & Mestieri). My album ranking: 1. Dreams 2. S/T 3. Tomorrow Blue & Stop This Crime/Hate To Hate (one combo release) 4. Behind The Wheels 5. B.U.F.O. (pre-debut from 1970 but was initially rejected) 6. Open Fire - Live In Basel (archival) 7. Yearnin' Learnin' - Live 1978 (archival with less than stellar sound, the vocals are almost lost). The 15 minute "Who Knows" is pretty good but can also be found on Open Fire - Live In Basel with better sound Other releases that I don't have: State Of Grace (2021), The Real Thing (live/archival 1994), Live at St. Joseph (archival/1972), Rarities (1992). There are also 4-5 boxes/collections

Up until a couple of days ago didn't even know they had other stuff post the 1st three albums so I can only rank those three. 1. Self-titled 2. Tomorrow Blue 3. Dreams

Bijelo Dugme ( White Button ) or SMAK ( disaster ) - great prog Yugoslav bands from 70 - ties . Pop Machine , Time , Leb i Sol ( bread and salt ) - they were all popular in Yugoslavia , still stars . It's very interesting . Also band " Korny Group " - first album . Check when you had a time - you be surprised with quality of musicians .

Excellent band, but I think it hurt them badly when they lost their first lead singer.
