I think that tag 2 is better than tag 1 tho. Tag 1 is great and it’s fun but the arenas are way longer and more difficult so dying and having to restart the whole arena is frustrating. Tag 2 also has more of an emphasis on doom being badass. He rides dragons, becomes ammo, and kills satan

I wish they had made the Ancient Gods one larger expansion pack, and given it more time in the oven. Kind of like how PS4 Spiderman got the Miles expansion, where its almost a mini game on the side. Having all the levels available, a single hubworld, and more time to develop enemies and balance things would have been great.

I think I must be one of the not-so-many people who actually finds Doom 2016 to be the better game over Eternal, at least for my standards. While Eternal does have better weapon balance, replay value and enemy and environment variety, I find its extra silliness and fourth wall breaks excessive at times. Also me coming from Halo games, I actually quite enjoyed 2016's multiplayer and customization options and I LOVED Snapmap and found it criminally underrated and Eternal ditching it and only having Battlemode just immediately dunked my enthusiasm for it. Eternal to me is kind of a one trick pony. It's a damn good trick but still. If only at least that Horde mode they added had co-op or something...

BFG edition DOES indeed change the level design in some places. For example, the original DOOM had an area in hell with zombies. It isn’t there in BFG edition. There are other changes, too. Also I agree, having more ammo and more light harms the “survival horror” element that I felt playing the original, where at various times, I was barely on the verge of running out of ammo.

Actually most of the reason for people not liking Doom 3 comes from the fact that it doesnt really play like a traditional Doom game. It removes the feel of a fast action fps with horror theme imagery inplace for more of a survival horror story and gameplay. Basically, if i want to play Doom just give me Doom. But if i wanted to play Resident Evil, i wouldve popped the disc in myself or play it directly from steam/console. I personally still have a heart for Doom 3 though its my least played Doom game for that reason that there are just simply better survival horrors out there to choose from that picking Doom 3 is kind of an oddball choice. Either way, doesnt take away from the fact that its still solid in its own merits

3 is absolutely amazing!!! The only doom I constantly come back to again and again. The expansion pack: resurrection of evil is equally as fantastic! You will not be disappointed.

the exact doom tier list I would make, we have very similar taste. only thing I would do is bump up doom 64 to B-tier and TAG2 to A-tier. also, side note I just want to get off my chest: doom 2016 *technically* got me into the series. I played the demo and was very impressed, however I decided to play the games in chronological order, making it the fifth game I played overall.
