@@AshtonGarlandno hes quite literally demanding that the gang give him the "blank" sheet of paper they had, really heat-activated photographic evidence that wouldve incriminated deacon carlswell, the creeper, of his larceny. it sounds like "creeper" but its "paper", the screenplay and the subtitles both agree, and otherwise it would thematically make little sense.

Here's a simple idea that might've helped Carswell as the Creeper, 1- swipe money from bank before going home 2- don mask of any other random human being 3- rob bank w/ disguise and gloves. P.S. Don't bring your bank keys with 4- file report that some dude broke in and robbed the bank. 5- problem solved, no supernatural stuff to explain or anything. Obviously, this would've had to be done before the guard got suspicious and put the camera up too, but he clearly made it more complicated than it needed to be, no supernatural elements were needed here.

Hyde planning to turn shaggy into a frog is based off Jekyll (both the original and his descendant) being a chemist. Hyde was the result of Jekyll taking a serum, so it's understandable that he might have serums with other effects
@JoeGoesOver
@JoeGoesOver 7 ай бұрын
It still makes you wonder what was going through Dr. Jekyll's mind at the time. I mean, HE knew he wasn't really a ghost (or a successful scientist). Wouldn't it be awkward for him to go through all the hassle of making Shaggy think he was about to be turned into a frog, only to have it not work? Would they just stare at each other uncomfortably until Jekyll slowly pulled the sheet over Shaggy's head and shamefully exited the room? Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@JoeGoesOver, or he could kill the poor guy by experimenting on him. It’s actually very common for horror video games these days to have an insane plot about experiments gone wrong where they transfer a human consciousness into inanimate bodies and it becomes a murderous vessel that can somewhat retain its human consciousness. Five Nights At Freddy’s (aka FNAF as the community loves to call it), Portal (it’s not a horror video game and more a puzzle platformer, but it does have disturbing lore), Poppy Playtime, etc. Our boy Shaggy is lucky this is the 60s, and the worst thing to experience would be murder, cause who knows what sort of horrific fates would await him and the gang in our modern day horror..

I think Jekyll was planning to kill Shaggy when he was seemingly about to turn him into a toad. He'd make him drink a test tube filled with a mad science-y looking liquid that's actually just poison. If he succeeds it's the same as any other murder, but if Shaggy escapes he'd think that Hyde really could have turned him into a toad, something that a normal person couldn't do. That would definitely help to convince the superstitious meddling kid that Hyde was the real deal. If Hyde was stopped before he could kill Shaggy through a more conventional, the fact that he didn't follow through on the threat would prove that he's not really a mad scientist with superhuman intellect.

I think the cops didn’t get the evidence because they weren’t expecting carrier pigeons; like using a teddy ruxpin in NCIS to hack a gov agency the defenses are not designed against old ways. Rake of justice lol….and that’s a good point that the guard didn’t tell the president about the camera cause he’d probably be fired if he did or it would be sabotaged. Good points on the creeper but I think a lot of his iconic comes from the fact he’s yelling paper in such a way that you could think he’s saying creeper like I did for years like a Pokémon. It truly sad how much the plot of mysterious mask mix up fell apart. Even today with no context the car chase is still amazing and “I can make you happy” is the best of the seven Chase songs from where are you.

@@acefist5502 Unfortunately, I can't give a concrete date for the next one. At the time I'm responding here, the script is complete and I have about 1/4 filmed and perhaps 1/3 of what was filmed edited. Like a lot of smaller KZbin creators, my filming/editing is sporadic due to full-time job, family and household demands. It's essentially a "write, film and edit when I'm able/motivated" kind of thing. I'm also a bit hamstrung now by some loud landscaping work going on next door which keeps me from filming when they're working. This is on top of the loud traffic outside my house that sometimes doubles the amount of time it takes to record due to ruined takes.

You make many valid points, but to be fair there were mitigating circumstances during that season, primarily the introduction of music chases sequences. I think this was a big reason for the lesser villain motivation and scripts. Plus the audience at the time likely would have been little kids under the age of 10 who wouldn't have been completely thinking things out like an adult. As for Shaggy's and Scooby's antics in escaping from the villains in costume, I still to this day have no issue with it. I certainly had no issues when I watched them as a child and I see nothing wrong with them now. The TV gag from the Hyde episode would have been reflective of TV at the time - a kiddie show (a clip not shown here which preceded the one you did show) which was not uncommon, and a mock B Western which would have also been on TV at various times. Besides, Scooby was a dog, so Running Dog makes sense. American Indians had dogs after all! RE: "Mystery Mask Mix Up" - you nailed the what could have been the moment Fong could have ended the mystery early on by taking the list out of the mask when the kids weren't looking and sent them on their way without any of the action that followed. However, you have to admit the car chase through Chinatown AND the hotel was pretty awesome! Probably one of the best in the show's run! The storeroom explosion: It's true someone might have heard it had it gone off, but the walls of the temple looked pretty thick and it's possible they could have muffled the noise somewhat. If anything, as a child I took more interest in the lines: Villain: "We will build a new storeroom!" Shaggy: "But who's going to build a new us?" That always stuck with me about the fragility of life and how important it is to avoid dangerous situations. May sound silly, but it sticks with me to this day! Probably because my parents used to say, we could always get a new [object] but we can never get another you! Made me appreciate life more. RE: The Frozen Fright - Good issues you brought up, but I used to wonder about the caveman that was written up in the papers; was there REALLY a caveman or was it all a ruse to begin with? Perhaps Professor Wayne set up the "discovery" and the shipment of the caveman knowing it would drift towards Oceanland. Then Shaggy and Scooby hook it first and so begins the story. Maybe there never was a caveman to be found. If there was we could have had a note that the actual body had been recovered and was being handled by some scientist group. RE: The Creeper - I think there was too much focus on the excellent chase scene early on in the episode and the baby chick who imprinted on Scooby. You're correct on Carswell being the thief but he would have easily been the focus of an investigation once the books didn't jive. It might have made sense if he had a partner whom he was setting up for the fall, then was caught trying to leave town with the cash and the bank guard tied up in the basement. RE: How can Scooby Villains have the strength they might not ordinarily have = there was a theory bouncing around at the time SDMI as airing - that magically the villain would gain additional strength of the creature he or she was assuming. Some attributed it to "The Entity" in that show, but why not attribute it here? What's the fun of cartoon physics if you can't use it??
@JoeGoesOver

The original premise of the Scooby Gang was to have been a rock band, thus giving them a reason to travel the country like nomads and the chase songs were likely a result of that early planning. Filmation's 'The Archie Show' featured musical numbers and was also big a few years prior to 'Where Are You?' and Hanna-Barbara never missed a trend they could cash in on after it was no longer popular! Admittedly, Scooby was made for kids, but it's still fun to discuss these things later on through adult eyes. In my case, having grown up with Scooby it was interesting watching the episodes along with my own children, but I couldn't help but notice all the little details that didn't make sense when you know (as an adult) how the real world is supposed to work. This was particularly true when my daughter and I were repeatedly watching 'Zombie Island' (which came out two years before she was even born) and it dawned on me just how many people the Cat Creatures had to have murdered over the years and thinking, "This is a Scooby-Doo film, right?" She asked me to do the math which is how I ended up with my first Scooby video (the 'Zombie Island Murders' was written first, but published a little after my 'Crimes' compilations). The dialogue in 'Frozen Fright' explicitly stated that the real lost caveman is what gave Professor Wayne the idea for his idea to dress up as a fake one, so it was absolutely a real thing (in the Scooby-Dooniverse, at any rate). Thank you for your thoughtful comments and I hope you keep watching my future content!

This may be the Scooby-Doo version of "Brainstorm/Green Needle" where some of us hear something one way and the rest another. It makes more sense he was yelling "Paper!" since the whole reason he was chasing the Gang was to get hold of the paper that would incriminate him.

@@elizabethrosebentley1969 That's because there was no incriminating paper involved in that film. In the original episode he's shouting "Paper! Paper!" because that's what he wants from the gang. Later installments go with "Creeper! Creeper!" because that's what people often assume he's saying and there's no paper involved in the plot.

Can anyone explain how Scooby doo monsters have super strength and how they can: Smash a their own human fist through a paint canvas Lift a table with a 50 pound dog and a 128 pound teenager in them and throw the table so hard it breaks a wall even through they are overweight How Dr Jekyll could ram his fist through a wooden door and not get hurt Or how Mr carlsworth could rip apart a cars seat and practically destroy half of it and run close to speeds of 50 miles per hour while being a overweight 50 + year old man

Well I never get why Hyde would wear a bucket hat instead of a Top hat because he was around the Victorian era since he has a deferent designs in the media mainly making him look Hulk-like being and yes his design which did creeped me out especially in the intro years ago especially when after he steals the jewel, sneak into the van and kidnaps Shaggy For the part where Scooby and Shaggy are Chinese people it was a different and especially what’s more expensive the animation or the cast Funny how you mention about a caveman opening a door because aren’t cavemen supposed to be simple minded being because all they do is hunt and mating all day, I figured that the Caveman is supposed to be based on the Iceman which disappeared because we never found out that is it real or not and I never understood why bring the caveman to ocean land instead of a museum? Lastly I never knew what the Creeper is especially the Jeepers Creepers one which I know isn’t the same but I read on the Wikipedia that the Scooby Creeper is based on the Brute man from 1946 and he does like Frankenstein monster and the Ghost of Mr Hyde I figured that there is a strange pattern on the villains in Season 2 and 3 of the 60’s Spider-Man cartoon where the villains who are not the traditional Spider-Man villains are all green skinned for some reason and as I said in the previous videos that just like the Caveman episode being John Carpenter’s the Thing I said that the Return of Flying Dutchman episode is secretly a Scooby Doo episode. After the next one can you Ranking on New Scooby Doo Movies where they team up and the Scooby Doo Show?

As long as I don't get too burned out, it's looking more and more likely that I'll be hitting 'New Scooby-Doo Movies' at some point.
