@@JoeGoesOver, it also makes it harder to know if they even care about you or not, making you question your whole reality. All I care about him for is that he brought me and my brother our two youngest siblings into this world, and that’s all that matters on his part.

The 10,000 Volt ghost stuck in my mind as a kid. I think it was his backstory. Most of the time when it is a ghost that the gang are up against, it is some long gone individual who nobody left really knew. The idea of it just being some guy that characters knew in recent years who died in a tragic, but avoidable work accident made him creepier to me. "An electrician that we used to know was completely vaporized by electricity because his boss couldn't be bothered with the safety up his employees and now his electrical themed ghost has returned for revenge." feels more like the plot to an episode of Supernatural rather than the backstory of a Scooby-Doo monster.
@JoeGoesOver11 ай бұрын
It does get creepier the more you think about it. Of course, as adults, we know that the power generated by a electrical tower would not be enough to disintegrate a victim. Burn them beyond recognition, yes, but completely evaporate them? Nope. In real life, the lack of a body would be the first clue that Voltner was a suspect. Thanks for watching and commenting!

36:27 If the 10,000 Volt Ghost was scaring off his employees, it makes a bit of sense that Mr. Collins would try and learn how to repair the equipment himself especially once it got to the point where he was the only one left in town. We don't see any other workers in the flashback but I doubt Voltner was the only guy working there. Mr. Collins trying to make repairs would also offer a possible explanation for the sheriff's office having power, he might've gotten a generator fixed while the ghost was too busy looking for the gang and the incriminating book to short circuit it again. Also, maybe it's just because I liked Scrappy as a kid but I always hated the franchise made him a villain in the first live action movie and then made him someone who must never be spoken of instead of trying to make him more likable.
@JoeGoesOver11 ай бұрын
You're not alone in the Scrappy camp and I know there's a risk of alienating some who watch my stuff when criticizing him, but I was a kid in the audience when Scrappy was introduced and I couldn't stand him even back then. Him and Alfalfa from 'The Little Rascals'. I always wanted to slap him hard enough to crumple his cowlick! I did consider Mr. Collins might have been desperate enough to work on repairs himself, and it's possible he was a former lineman before he became the owner of the power plant, but could you imagine Mr. Burns limping toward Sector 7-G to try and get the juice back on? Thanks for watching and commenting!

For the 10000 volt ghost, i'd say that the suit would be somewhat safe, considering he was able to rip off power lines without any problems. those are WAY stronger than a battery pack, and it doesn't take that much electricity to make a lightshow like what his suit is doing. Granted, it would be dangerous for those around him, which would help sell to the townsfolk that it's time to get the hell out of town. What i'm more amazed by is the fact that the suit could go through steel doors. i don't really know how electricity works, but i don't think 10,000 volts is enough to melt steel, no matter what amperage it's at.

Tossing evidence in the swamp would not be a good idea as the paper would likely float to the surface or even just nestle gently on the surface scum. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!

Monsters that were choosen for the 2nd live action scooby doo movie was mostly due to nostalgia factor, and budget. 10'000 volt ghost was chosen for its reference to the scooby doo show being in the promo, that and for plot convience being able to jump from any socket/wires. The episode scene shows Sparky melting the locks on a gate, whereas the deleted costume heist of Coolsonian Criminology Mueseum show Sparky doing the same to let the Black Knight Ghost come in. The directors really wanted CG monsters over practical costumes, so that why Sparky was their favorite. Ghost Clown was swapped for Captain Cutler, and Redbeard was swapped for Miner 49er. Just to name a few.

You have no idea how painful this was for me seeing that I'd missed this while doing my final re-watch before making this video live! If there had been any other egregious mistakes or omissions, I would probably have fixed that and re-upped the video, but to put it in perspective: A video of this size takes anywhere from two to three hours (usually three) to encode on my computer. That's the stage where Adobe Premiere renders the final video file in the proper format for KZbin to use. After that, it takes another half hour or so to upload and then a further half hour to hour (or longer) for the video to go through KZbin's copyright matching search. It gets worse: in the past I've fixed videos that had a mistake, gone through the three hour re-encode, followed by the hour or more of re-uploading, only for KZbin to find a copyright match, despite not finding one the first time. So despite being extremely painful, I just couldn't justify four or five hours of extra work, not to mention the risk of a copyright match, for just one second of screen time. It's STILL painful. ARGH! Though I do appreciate that a running gag is recognized enough that its absence is felt! Thanks for watching and commenting.

So how did Dovely get her hands on the Gator Ghoul costume anyway? Surely Beauregard Film Productions would've taken the costume with them after filming wrapped up. Maybe it was left behind after some stuntman got jealous over not being cast in the lead role and attempted to sabotage the production.
@JoeGoesOverАй бұрын
Jesus, that's all we need. TWO Carls walking around! But for what it's worth, film studios aren't always the greatest when it comes to cleaning up after a shoot. Costumes and props are designed to look good for the limited amount of time it takes to film, and won't necessarily hold up long enough to be reused effectively. Thus, they're often simply discarded or given away after filming wraps. It's not uncommon for famous cinema items to be held in private hands for decades [ACE DECADE] after production ends by people who simply snagged them out of a dumpster.

You say that you are bad at science, yet you make a good point about why the rubber suit is dangerous for Voltner. One thing I learned from watching MatPat’s Avatar The Last Airbender video on waterbending is that water is super conductive, meaning electricity can flow through water faster than anything else, because the salts in water are what make it super conductive. And since we humans are 50-75% water, electricity will flow through us by extension if we swim through water that was conducting electricity. We also know that ice and snow are water that have solid forms due to the slow/inactive kinetic energy of water molecules, so Voltner should’ve been electrocuted by the battery for the costume as soon as he put on the rubber suit in a snowy environment, let alone every other day that he was wearing the costume. He was wearing an amazing suit in the wrong environment and using actual electricity as part of his disguise. He should’ve been toast long before they could even enact the scheme..

Ah, two childhood favorites. I must say, I'm surprised by the great scores seen in the season thus far, however I was expected both of these baddies to have quite good scores. Fun Fact: As a child, I created this monster for the Scooby-Doo show called the "Lion Creature of Shanghai", basically a humanoid lion with bird-like claws that glows and turns people to stone (he actually just kidnapped them and put life-like stone dummies in their place, a re-hash of the Mummy from WAY!) . The whole point of this was to scare people away from a prestigious tower in the city of Shanghai, where they would melt gold and shape them into everyday objects to smuggle to America. I remember thinking it was such a cool idea that the creature could've trapped Shaggy & Scooby in the room where the melting happens, and would've allowed them to suffer death thanks to molten gold. Out of curiosity, what do you think would be a viable D.O.O score for this random baddie from my childhood? And, once again, fantastic video, Joe!

Without seeing the "episode" and going solely by your description: DESIGN: 2.5 out of 5. Sounds profitable, but as you mentioned, turning people to stone was used before as was scaring people away from a historical location in order to loot it, not to mention reshaping gold to smuggle it. OUTFIT: 4 out of 5. Unique design, and it sounds like there were special effects. It would only have to be drawn as scary with prominent fangs and sharp claws to maintain this score. OPERATION: 3 out of 5. Without being able to see them interact with the Gang, this one is impossible to rank, but I always give props to any villain willing to kill for their scheme. D.O.O. SCORE: 3.2 out of 5. Congratulations! Your lion creature did better than the majority of the villains from 'The New Scooby-Doo Movies'! Thanks for watching and commenting! Also kudos to a childhood well-spent using your imagination! Sounds more wholesome than mine, at any rate, considering I used to craft literal medieval torture chambers out of shoeboxes to torment my Star Wars action figures!

I don't have any Christmas special planned, at least not at this point. My channel is a one-man operation from top to bottom, so my videos are uploaded almost immediately after completion (after giving my Patreon supporters a chance to see them first). And while I spend a couple of dozen hours or longer producing each video, that's in addition to my normal day job which doesn't allow me the time required for additional stuff. It's worse, too, that I can really only concentrate on one video at a time and am just incapable of multitasking my output. I'd love to blame that on not having a thyroid anymore, but as my oncologist once so painfully put it: it's not the cancer that did that to my brain. (he was obviously hinting it was an age thing more than a cancer thing) I think most channels that do a special Christmas episode are the full time creators who always have three or four videos ready to upload at any given time, which gives them more leeway to plan stuff out like holiday specials.

All of this makes me wonder of a possible D.O.O score for the villain in a planned crossover of mine Ghost of Shiho Minazuki(story title: Tank’s a lot!) The plan is that Erika, real name Emi Minazuki decides to get revenge on the school she goes to due to feeling they were involved in the death of her great aunt, the aforementioned Shiho Minazuki, so creates a costume using glowing and other special effects and props(projectors, wires, the works) to further sell the concept that the ghost of Shiho has returned, while at this she not only scares off any snoopers but also sabotages (Sabotage? How? When?) the school in order to get it shut down, she also remotely operates abandoned tanks to make it look like they’re being controlled through spectral forces. She uses them to do a lot of chasing the gang around and in one scene traps the gang and would’ve ran them down with said tank, but ends up bringing a lot of crates down on top of her, this is actually how she is caught(and the only reason she unintentionally brings those crates down is due to the plot needing it to happen, if it was realistic Emi would’ve killed the Scooby Gang). The only evidence of her crimes is that she left her diary in her room, but did have the foresight to use a dummy body and actual blood to make it look like she had been drained of her life by the ghost. The plan is that when the school she went to is shut down forever she’d move to the other school involved in Shiho’s death and use sabotage (Sabotage? How? When?) to get that one shut down forever to, and again was willing to silence ANYONE who got in her way. But her worst part was using a tank to tow the Mystery Machine onto the school ship. As then it was a matter of time before she got caught. Although it could be that she was afraid the Scooby gang could ruin her plans(apparently Velma and Daphne knew someone at school b), so disposing of them now would be better. I hope it’s at least more than Carl the stuntman(F@#£ing Carl the stuntman) Either way. Love this, also wonder what a potential D.O.O score for bad guys in Funky Phantom/Speed Buggy/Josie and the Pussycats/Jabberjaw would be
@JoeGoesOver11 ай бұрын
Your enthusiasm definitely shines through. It's rough trying to assign scores to unproduced scripts (or even ideas) because so much can (and usually does) change between the page and the screen! It'd be interesting to see someone tackle the villains for those series, but that's not in the cards for me. To be BROOT-ally honest, I wasn't much of a fan growing up of any of the Scooby clones, though I did enjoy the Josie comics, but mainly because they'd appear in collections that featured Jughead. 34:26 lol what? 😂 your son is immune to snow or something? Also, yes, I do have a tendency to unzip my jacket or occasionally remove the bed sheets on top of me. I live in Miami, so I have a very volatile body temperature, and as part of living with autism, I compulsively switch to whatever keeps me from either freezing to death or burning hot enough to sweat. I suppose Mayor Dudley is like me if I had been born in Winterhaven rather than Hialeah where we don’t even know what snow is (personally I actually saw snow in my father’s home country of Chile when I visited and I was annoyed about finding out it was no different than squishy ice. I was expecting puffy clouds and what I got was ice that wasn’t contained in cube shapes. The movies really did not do snow justice). I wonder if Dudley is so used to snow that he barely bothers that much anyway.

Like the Windmakers, The 10,000 Volt ghost was more of a Supervillain rather than a Scooby-Doo Villain. I mean, If I have a Suit that regenerates Electricity capable of Melting Locks and Walls, I'd just use it to Take Over the World, Not Sabotage (How When?).

You make a good point. About the only difference between Voltner's creature and a normal Supervillain is the former skulked around while the latter is generally out in the open putting people's lives in jeopardy.

here are all the 5/5 scores given to villains in the scooby-doo show so far since I thought I'd start a new list afterthe scooby-doo show: the gator ghoul: Outfit the 10,000 volt ghost: Design nolt many so far but we are only four episodes in and I'm sure there will be more lateer on down the line. I will update this list nexttime if there are new 5/5 scores but if not then I probably won't but we will see.

I have a lot of hope from just the first four episodes that there will be more 5s to award, even if done so begrudgingly at times!

My theory is all the series and movies up until A Pup Named Scooby Doo are in the same Scooby Dooiverse

Except that wouldn't account for age. We're talking nearly two decades [ACE DECADE] for the Gang. Sadly, Scooby wouldn't be around that long! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!

Great video as always. I would also love to see your take on actual hollywood movies. From 80's and 90's even. You go into so much dept and point out so many stuff that i feel you would be a great movie critic or praiser also.

I have done a few videos like that some time back, but those were mostly covering films I loved as a kid that had aspects that didn't age well now that I'm an adult and can understand things better. Those videos are the most disliked on my channel, probably because people don't like hearing criticism about something they loved, despite the criticism coming from someone who loved the films as well (in fact, loved them enough to spend a couple of weeks producing a video about them!). Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing!
