Love the content, you guys are great! My wife went through about 6 months of morning sickness while we lived abroad. It makes is a lot harder away from home with familiar foods and smells! I know this is long in the past now, but thank you for allowing us along for the journey!

I know this part of your travel is behind you. Johan you should be commend as a husband, a sailor, a future father. Oh Malin, your little bump is going to be a strong Viking or Queen by the time birthing comes around, you are amazingly stoic.. Johan and Malin, I loved this video but it was hard to see Malin feeling so sick. It's bad enough to be seasick in rolly conditions but to be pregnant and feeling ill with morning sickness is like a double whammy. I remember a day in rolly conditions and I turned green in about 20 minutes but I was lucky that we got on a different tack and the boat stopped rolling. Poor you. I hope San Francisco treats you well but right now they are getting some bad earthquakes which seem to give the ground a rolling kind of shake. Johan, I loved your technical sailing commentary. It's great to hear someone talk about the challenges of long distance sailing who is knowledgeable about the local conditions involving offshore winds, currents and tides at the mouth of San Francisco Bay. I was surprised to see how quiet the shipping traffic was. In Vancouver, you can't believe how many ships and ferries, pleasure boats and sailboats and seaplanes that are all coming and going. It's a madhouse. I thought SF would have been the same. Have a good rest.

So sorry you are sick so much. I to was sick and had a hard time keeping food down. Only mine lasted the whole 9 moths. I was not sailing though. So i really feel for you. Our daughter was worth it when all was done. But miserable going though it. We had a 2 year old son who was very active. So i am thankful that this is your first. You need the rest. Not sure if it will help but ginger and a complete B complex is great for motion sickness. And you always need more B complex when pregnant. Fresh ginger is best. You can eat it or make a tea. But a good brand of Ginger tea would work. Be safe on your travels and Congratulations.

Been following your vids for a long time and they seem to be getting better. By now you should be safe in SF, hope you have a great time there. I know Calif well after 30 years in southern Cal. On your next stop I hope you will make it to Santa Barbara. The marina there is across the street from the main section of downtown Santa Barbara. Restaurants, shopping, and things to see to the max. The weather there is perfect. Keep safe and hope the nausea fades soon, it should.

I loved the video today. I have some history with that bridge having visited the park there while on leave from my US Army training at Ft Ord, CA. In May of 1969 I got to see it from the air as I flew back from the war in Vietnam - what a sight! In my career as a Radiographer I met a deep sea diver who held the world record for the deepest dive as a hard-hat diver. He did inspections and maintenance on that bridge. What a job he had! Safe travels and good health to both of you. Especially to the mother to be!

It's nice to see you sailing on open ocean and longer distances again, even though I'm sorry it makes Malin sick. I wonder how Johan likes to organize his watches and breaks for solo night sailing in a crowded area like the SF Bay entrance. I guess you don't stay awake all night ?

I usually take catnaps of about 10-20 min with alarm set depending how much traffic there is. The entrance was only a few miles so that was easy to stay awake for 😊

Your videos are great. I've never seen a video of a boat entering under the Golden Gate Bridge. What a great experience. Thanks for sharing. So sorry Malin is suffering with sea sickness due to the pregnancy. I've had my wife aboard and offshore when conditions were not good. I felt sorry for her sea sickness, and did all I could to minimize the movement of the boat. But there's only so much you can do.

Aquatic Park was my second home when I was a Sea Scout in the 70s. Working on my dads 30 foot crab boat coming through the Gate could be an adventure, large swells, following seas, and very low stern freeboard made for some not so fun experiences.

One of the things that helped my wife with baby-sickness was hard candies. They sell special pregnancy ones on amazon but it turned out just regular ones worked and were 1/5th the cost. Hope you feel better soon Malin.

Chris Perkins for me it was a 2 lb bag of peppermint candy. Ginger candy is also good for nausea.

I am praying your nausea has gotten better. If not ginger candies are good to keep on hand. I had severe morning sickness with 2-3 of our sons and time is what helps. It may be a wives tale that says nausea indicates a healthy pregnancy. Regardless I hope Mailin is better.

Love this episode. RAN is sailing very well, captain !! The cockpit table will be a great addition to your floating home. Wondering if Malin would be more engaged in sailing (like taking the wheel, etc.) if that mental engagement might help not get so ill. But then, I have never been pregnant. ✨💕✨

Aquatic Park is a great place to anchor. The wood boat museum is great, Ghirardelli Square is fun and tempting to try all the chocolates. If too early you can always anchor is Drakes Bay then take the coastal route in. You avoid all the drama of big ships coming in a out. Anyhow you are past all this now so next time. Hope Malin is feeling better in Newport.
