+Michael Boyd "[n-word] living life like a beginner this is only beginning (kill a [n-word])" Not only did Rap Critic miss all the relevant words, but I did too. For a while I thought it was: "and I'm living life like a Buchanan this song be gettin' it (kill a [n-word])" It's only that the first word gets censored in the clean version that tipped me off that my transliteration was off.

Some respeck on my name! Man that fool made us look stupid. I seriously think bird man thought this was a clever damn publicity stunt to sell records off some bizarre curiosity of a so called "gangster" crying and begging for some spek on his name. Lord. And then he pulled up on Charlamagne? It had to be a setup. I just thought t was so damn dumb no way it was even partly thought out. But bird man has been way buried under the spotlight and wasn't seeing light for a hundred years so bam he pulls this spek on my name stunt drops a typical bird man single and makes a few grand to fly his boy friends around. Ugh. Mannie? What did you ever see in this guy? Juvenile? Wayne? Why this fool? BG? Turk? Why? What was bird mans claim to fame? Or was he a leach? Saw some real talented guys hanging out making creative (have to admit that was creative banging music in the 90s..block is hot. Phew) and just took over somehow and suckered them all out of probably a cool billion total. Easily.

Holy shit. You're 22? God damn. I thought you were 30 something. Also, I think the popularity of Young Thug, Fetty Wap and so on is because we're so used to overly polished voices. When people hear someone sound weird, we listen. Even if it sucks. I like Young Thug sometimes. He's got a weird enough voice to add to some songs.

Young Thug has a wide appeal because of his personality he portrays in his songs. I don't think they are lyrically deep or profound at all but he raps about hood rich lifestyle which appeals to a lot people. but he is also really weird (you can't tell me that a guy who sometimes wears women's clothes, refers to his friends as "babe" or "lover", does a shitton of drugs, and carries assault rifles everywhere he goes is not weird) so he also appeals to really weird people who are into rap.

MABK 1988 No doubt there are hundreds if not thousands of people in the music industry who are gay and closeted, but what in the holy fuck does that have to do with a "gay agenda"?? The "gay agenda" doesn't exist and never has existed. It's what ignorant people call social progressiveness.

Yo, I heard it, too. "G-g-gcluck!" Honestly, the beat is dope, but the lyrics didn't age well. Put on the sub titles and your TV will say "unintelligible" 😅

That masculine Young Thug line you said aged poorly since the 'wearing a dress' thing. but his 'Chanel' line makes more sense.

Seriously though I think it's just me growing as a person and a music listener, but I find that all the vitriol I had toward songs I deemed "Stupid" or "not Hip Hop" just because I didn't like them at the time has gone away and coming back I can actually appreciate them. I wonder if rap critic ever feels the same way.

Man, I hope that the Rap Critic will touch on House of Pain more deeply at some time. They are one of my favourite rap groups ever, their album "Same as it ever was" is a damn good sophomore album (Top 3 of my favourite rap albums ever, my cousin lent the CD to me and I nearly destroyed the disc, because I listened to it so much) and it is a shame they aren't talked about too much these days.
