Finally Christmas is over so I can now go full steam ahead with these videos without any distractions. I hope you like this one. We only have 1 song left on the Master Of Puppets album. I can't believe it. Everything on this album so far has been unreal. This is my reaction to hearing Metallica - Leper Messiah for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

Good to have you back on Metallica mate. Actually the album Master of Puppets is preserved in the Librarybof Congress as one of the best Metal albums ever made for its significance and effect and the fact that it is relevant at anytime, however it is way way waaay to early for you to pick a favorite Metallica album. Every song on this album talks about an issue be it political social etc this song is about religious institutions namely the church. What i advise you to do is now that you have listened to these songs at least once, do it again while pulling the lyrics out and you’ll realize Metallica’s poetic genius and lyricism and you’ll realize all the “bars” they got.
@carlgibson285
@carlgibson285 8 ай бұрын
A lot of people underestimate just how important James' vocals are when it comes to what makes Metallica great. There are plenty of other thrash metal bands out there who are just as good, if not better, than Metallica when it comes to song-writing and technical ability, but nobody has a voice that fits the music as much as James. As you listen to more Metallica, you'll also notice that James' voice changes significantly between albums. His voice on the early stuff is way higher and more aggresive than the later stuff where he actually learns to sing properly, and yet each vocal style is perfect for the songs they feature on.

I love the sound of Cliff’s bass in the intro to this song. It sounds incredible throughout, but that riff-you clearly felt it, too-is so brilliant, and powerful. And that is the thing about *Puppets*; there is not one track that I skip on this album, and all the riffs are past memorable-they’re infectious. Whereas EVERY other Metallica record has at least one song I might skip. Yes, one song left, I think: ‘Damage, Inc.’. The album closer and fastest track on the album. Now, then: They were clever, stickin that fucker onto the end, as all it does is make ya want more. More of that song, more of that record. It makes obsessive fans of us, because I know when I first heard this album ~age 12 or so, I listened to it over and over. I learnt all the rhythm guitar parts, then, later, I learnt all the leads. Then I joined in the role of Kirk in a Metallica tribute band. I had to dye my hair and get it permed, lol. I had an early puberty so I had no problem growing young Kirk’s signature wispy moustache at 15. But we had a grand time. We terrorised and thrilled crowds throughout Central North Carolina. Absolute blast. The point is, Metallica were dead brilliant self-promoters, and they turned a rabid cult following into international superstardom-something that’s not happened on their level before or since. The Beatles could’ve pulled it off if they’d toured relentlessly, as Metallica do; however, then we wouldn’t have gotten the Beatles’ most brilliant music-the stuff they came up with once they’d given up touring and sequestered themselves in a studio.

I first heard kill em all around 1985 and was an immediate and permanent fan for life! I’ve only seen them about half a dozen times starting in 86 prior to cliffs passing. My greatest mom moment was in 2018 when I took my 2 boys (17 and 22 at the time) along with my 4 nephews to see them. It was all of their first times! I raised my boys on Metallica and I obviously rubbed off on my nephews lol. When my youngest literally bounced out of the arena after the show screaming that I was the best mom ever I was so proud!

Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING explains the feeling you get the first time you hear a Metallica song. That reaction of yours when the song finishes and you’re sat there not speaking, with that look of bewilderment on your face is literally all of us. Listening to prime Metallica is like a religious experience, it isn’t just music, it’s a fucking experience. They’ve been my favourite band since I was 11 in 1992 and I still remember the first time I heard them. It was the Justice album and as Blackened played, I was pretty much sat there in shock with my mouth wide open. Now, at 43, they’re still my favourite band and I’ve managed to see them live 11 times. Most recently at Download festival last year when they headlined two nights. Seeing them live is spine chilling and you have to do it. Loving the reactions mate, keep them coming 🤘🏼

Their first 4 albums (and many say 5) are genre defining masterpieces from beginning to end. Just savor those albums and try to ignore that from the 5th album on they evolve into a different, less musical, less complex, less consistent, and in my honest opinion, a far less interesting and inspiring group. But the first four records are so good that it has made them legendary. For a band to make even one amazing album, beginning to end, is a rarity. To make two, in a row, deserves respect. To make three in a row cements a band as important. To make four, in a damned row, makes a band into living legends. Not many music artists are thought to have made FOUR acclaimed albums IN A ROW that changed the face of music in their time and remain influential to what came after it. Regardless of their questionable output over the last couple of decades, they are the most successful metal band of all time. And with sales upwards of 120 million, are the ONLY metal band on the list of the 50 biggest selling music artists of all time (at around #38), regardless of genre. That’s how important they are to metal. Their World Wired Tour, which began in 2016, is the 14th highest-grossing tour of all time. Again, the ONLY metal band on the top 20 grossing tours. For a band in a genre that was always considered subculture to rival the mainstream is nuts. For good or bad, Metallica made metal mainstream, and brought it respect from the industry and society at large. That’s no small feat. Bad ass sweatshirt, uh, jumper?

It’s the first song, and our first exposure to The ass kicking sound, and their introduction onto the music community who was busy listening to garbage pop music and disco. This album debut in 1984 and song blew everyone away, and influenced most of the rock music you hear today.

A recommendation is to have the lyrics up. There song are more deep in meaning than you can imagine. Absolute best lyricist.

For anyone wondering about the story of this song. It is about televangelist and other religious leaders using religion to get money by lying to people. For example like you hear in the song "Send me money, send me green, heaven you will meet Make a contribution and you'll get a better seat" saying that these preists, pastors and others will take peoples money and lie to them about "getting a guaranteed spot in heaven"

I took my Ride the Lightning concert T-shirt cut and sewed it into the the back of my denim jacket (battle jacket). Saw twice with Cliff. You might like Testament with Scholnik on guitar, the older they get the better they get. Try Symptoms.

If you listen to the sound engineers, all early Metallica has the bass tuned down slightly to enhance the double guitar sound. It was part of their sound strategy and what made early Metallica part of what it is. Don't listen to the haters go on about justice. It was done by design and not out of spite to Jason.
