The song is a stream of consciousness, he admitted, and the focus is simply to show his mastery of technique. RM did 9 different flows here. All of RM's work are based on deep lyrics but not Joke. Joke is full of wor play. This song was a slap to haters who criticized that he cnt rap fast or flow hard as "he had become an idol rapper" n said his rap was based on only lyricism n delivery. Also mocked him for persuing his career as BTS. Joke was his answers to those so called " rappers" who only spit words like 'bibidi babidi' (basically just saying any word that would go with the rhythm without having any actual meaning). Like that through Joke he showed that he can rap fast but good rap ain't just about speed. Just being fadt doesn't make it meaningful. It was a clap back to haters! "joke” this one is my favorite all the time, 9 different flows, no chorus just straight bars, 74 syllables in just 9.5 seconds, almost 10 syllables per seconds

Actually yes Suga is one of the fastest rappers in K pop, along with Changbin of Stray Kids, Zico of Block B, and T.O.P. of the daddy's of K pop, BIG BANG. But in this song Rap Monster (now you see why he went by that name, which BTW RM now stands Real Me.) was clocked faster than Suga. And did you happen to notice the breathe control or should I say the fact that I think he took a total of three breaths for the whole video. Also, you have to remember when this video came out, the k pop industry was popular, but they hadn't realized that they could put sub titles in. It was fans that were doing it....adding their own subtle to help. So there is another video out there that has sub titles in English, Thai, and one other language. But u can look up the lryic video...it does the same thing. And if you like this song, you should check out, "Do You," talk about a clap back at the haters....HELLO!!! Or he has a song with Wale called "Change." And another with Warren G. called "P.D.D." There is so much more content for BTS, I don't think u guys even know....let alone K pop itself. I'm gonna give all credit to the original commenter who is RM biased (Sonakshi Awasthi). She comment this on another "Joke" reaction video. Here it goes: "Joke" is a diss toward the mentality and senseless outlook of the present day rappers for whom rap now means something that just has to be about speed, no lyrical content/meaning required. When our Joon (RM) left the underground rap scene, his "hyungs" (older rappers) mocked him for being a kpop rapper, which according to them, means that he has to rap slower in order to fit the mood of the song. He no longer should be considered a real rapper. That's when he made "Joke" - the fastest rap in the Korean industry, becoming the second fastest after Zico (another Korean rapper). He has basically rapped entire paragraphs in seconds. He wanted to make something so unachievable that nobody would ever have the audacity to question his rap skills. This rap uses the "stream of consciousness" technique, like Eminem, when you focus on talking fast using whatever words that come to the forefront of your mind. A good portion of it is focused on parodying those type of rappers, which is why it's just a stream of words that has no meaning. But the beauty of it all is that he isn't just babbling nonsense, he's actually making a lot of sense. So he's basically demolishing them at their own game 🤣🤣 He's going really fast, but at the same time having genius beautifully put-together lyrics, all culminating to form one of the greatest disses of all time. 😌 (I added a few things of my own) You guys should definitely check out the lyrics, and more from RM. and the rest of the rapline.
