Interesting tidbit... the 360 degree view from Mt Diablo summit allows one to see more visible land than any other summit in California

Beautifully done! Reminds me of the natural beauty around us and the joy of why we ride!

I live in Hawaii and am coming over to CA this fall to ride a bunch of your climbs. These two are on my list.
@smouvemouvesАй бұрын
Excellent! Depending on when in fall, that's usually a better time to climb those mountains. Both mountains are exposed to the sun, so you'll want to check the forecast carefully.

Nice one, thanks for sharing. If this is your idea of fun check out the Devil Mountain Double, also in April every year, that throws in Patterson Pass to make it an even 200mi and 21k feet up.

OH DAM! That sounds WILD, but I'm going to check this out! Thanks for the recommendation!

Great ride and gorgeous scenery. Just the right time of year while the Bay is still green!

I really wish it could look like that year around! Soon as May hits, the land turns back to brown rust 😅

Thats a great ride. I did it unsupported with a friend back in 2016 while planning our Ham/MtD/Tam ride. Going up the wall that is the backside of Ham cemented our choice of starting in SJ and finishing in SF.

What an epic ride!…🤙🏽 I don’t road bike, but I do mountain bike & enjoy long ride’s. 11K ft of elevation in one day is quite insane…lol Really awesome video!…🤙🏽

Thank you!! I rode into the last big climb with limited energy then had to descend down Mt. Ham in ICE COLD conditions! This ride was a serous battle of extremes!

The last 200-300 yards to the summit are pure hell. The only climb I can imagine that's worse is the climb out of limantour beach.

There are also long tough climbs in the high mountains of the Eastern Sierra-Owens Valley: Onion Valley, White Mountain, Horseshoe Meadows and others. The west side of Sonora Pass is especially hard for the first few miles up from Kennedy Meadows. See PJAMM Cycling for climb profiles.

Look up Mix Canyon out of Vacaville. Top of Diablo is 450 yards at 16% - Mix Canyon has a mile of that...

Great ride. I attempted Mt. Diablo starting from Fremont, but IT band pain forced to take the bart back home. The most agonizing part was riding from Fremont Bart to my apartment. You did it like a champ 👍.

Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear that you had to bail out from attempting Diablo from Fremont. Are you going to try again in the future?

So awesome. I've been riding for years and never had the courage to do a Century. My legs start cramping at the 50 mile mark almost every time. I still haven't figured out how to eliminate that issue but I just wanna say I'm super impressed with your ride. What a great achievement. Congrats 👏

That must have been a cold descent down Mt. Diablo. I would have frozen for sure. Sorry about your crash the prior year. I guess this was something of a redemption ride for you. Nice video and music. Thanks

How much car traffic is there on Hamilton compared to Diablo (esp on the East side)? I've never made it down that way. Nice ride! It looks like a memorable one.
@smouvemouves3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! The car traffic on Hamilton is nothing compared to Diablo. During the week, you won't see much in the way of car traffic at all once you get past the East San Jose foothills - it's very sporadic. On the weekends, you can expect to experience some car traffic, but it's minimal as compared to the incredibly busy Mt. D. On the east of Mt. Ham.... you'll see maybe less than 5 cars. 😅 There's nothing but open backcountry on the eastern side. But, it is MUCH steeper than the west (more popular) side.
