My husband spent the majority of his life hiding his feelings as he was raised to be a tough man. Turns out he is really an emotional man and I’ve seen his cry many times and his emotional sensitivity makes me love him more. His emotional world really opened up with the arrival of the grandkids. They are his world and they have him wrapped around their fingers.

This song was inspired by a real event. Reba and B&D have been friends, for decades---they opened for her, when they were first starting-out. They've been to each other's houses, been on vacations together, and their families are close, too. When lead singer Ronnie Dunn's daughter wanted a horse, Ronnie told her "no", cuz he was afraid she'd fall-off, and get hurt. She called "Aunt Reba", and Reba called Ronnie and gave him what-for, and he got his daughter a horse, and wrote this song!!! 😂 Reba was a real-life cowgirl, was, with her siblings, her father's ranch-hand. She competed, as a barrel racer, in rodeos, and won some---her father and grandfather were world champion steer-ropers---so, riding horses is in her blood!!! Fun fact: Ronnie showed-up, one time, wearing a rodeo belt buckle.... Reba asked him where he got it, and did not hide the fact that she was very unhappy that it had been given to him, just for singin' at a rodeo, and he hadn't *earned* it !!!

Reba is a real-life cowgirl. She grew up on a ranch, was a champion rodeo barrel racer and her father was a world-champion steer roper. You should react to the official video of her duet with Cody Johnson (a former bull rider) called "Dear Rodeo." It's a lament about their having to leave the rodeo to follow their singing careers.

Remind me of my Grandaddy… he was 93 when he passed and born to in 1925… he never really stayed I love you but he showed it… he was just raised that way. Then my Grandmommy died in 2012 and my Mom in 2017 and after my Mom died he was ready to go and we lost him just 4 months after my Mom passed… but in those 4 last months he told us that he loved us every chance he got! Side note about him because I’m proud to call him my Grandaddy… he was in WW2 and was a POW, he was put in a firing line to where they were going to kill him and others but by the mercy of God something happened right when they were about to fire and it all got called off! Miss and love you always Grandaddy!

The kids, I get it. My daughter who is 26 now has a two year old girl from a divorce. I did all I could to expose her to all sports and she settled on soft ball. I coached her teams, for years She made the high school team at a top school. I trained her to defend herself in self defense along with how to use a gun if a life is at stake. She shoot better than me now. Master class training with some of the best on the east coast. Now we are watching her daughter when she is working her job. The love that little girl gives us warms the heart. Time to do it all again, do it even better, and so grateful to do so. The best to you and yours.

Now this one is sort of a true story. Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn was talking to Reba one day and told her that his young daughter wanted a pony/horse and he was trying to decide whether or not to get her one. Obviously, his worry was that she would get hurt learning to ride it. Reba, with extensive experience growing up on a cattle ranch, encouraged him to buy it and explained to him that it would help develop her courage and determination learning to keep getting back up whenever she falls. Ronnie followed her advance, wrote this song, and the rest was history.
