The name Devo comes from the concept of De-evolution. Devo took performance art to a whole new level. Absolute misunderstood geniuses. Basically the more we advance as a technological society the more we de-evolve as humans. This song is about overcoming hardship and facing difficulties head on. Fun fact the members of Devo met at Kent State University and a couple of them witnessed the infamous Kent State Shooting in 1970.
