Rage Against The Machine is basically a rapper (Zach De La Rocha) over a hard rock band, always political. They came out starting in 1992. The lyrics here are all original except for that double-time section; that was all Denzel in place of where the guitar solo originally went. This is a generally respected cover of the song, being a pretty fair example of what it sounds like, while also bringing something new to it. Judging by your reaction here (and you mentioning liking rap/rock earlier), I think you'd love just about any track by RatM.

Yo KSO, There's never a bad time to grow your channel. It doesn't have to be failing to benefit from broader horizons and bringing eclectic heads and different genre fans together. You already mixed it up with international artists and crossover acts like Ren and Ed Sheeran so Rock isn't a big step. Rage Against the Machine is like a gateway drug for hip hop heads to get into rock as the mixed race front man, Zack De La Rocha raps and at a high level of lyricism and flow too. I'd be shocked if you didn't like it fr fr. Personally, I've enjoyed your reactions to a variety of stuff, starting with UK reactions but not limited to. I'm an eclectic fan myself and would enjoy your reactions to everything from Afrobeat to classical Indian ragas. I'm SO HERE for you checking out RAtM. I missed them in the 90s cuz I'm an acoustic folk person and in the 90s I was *deep* into that. But I worked at a music store for like 4 yrs so there was all kinds of music I was exposed to that I'd have never heard otherwise, and RAtM was one that stuck with me until they'd worked their way into my *political* consciousness past my little girl fears of how "scary" and "angry" they sounded.

I grew up when Rage were at the height of their fame and saw many bands cover Rage just like this. Their influence was immense. Hahaha. Those Rage subs are a real thing. Rage Against the Machine is the real deal. They are rock, but they are hip-hop too. The frontman Zach de La Rocha could stand with any rapper in the 90’s when this song was out. These are Rage lyrics, but Denzel threw a verse in here. If you check out Denzel Curry, I’d recommend the trilogy of videos, 1) Black Balloons, 2) Clout Cobain, 3) Vengeance. Very underrated video trilogy. They all tell an amazing story.

Honestly I was never into Denzel but once you start to listen to his lyrics you notice he’s special. Lyrically and creatively he’s elite but ultimately I’d say a lot of his beat choices mean his music’s an acquired taste

The shit he is saying sounds like he wrote it right now. Zach has done songs with Killer Mike. He is very much a rapper. They have amazing funky grooves to their music and Tom Morello is one of the greatest guitarist of all time. I truly hope you check out RATM. The song you just listened to is about our military spending. I would love to see you react to the original with the lyrics. You will be hooked. “Killing in the name of” is about racist cops. “Down Rodeo” is about classism and racism. They do not have a bad song.
