@@Silent_Shadow and how are you doing today? When I read your comment the first thing I heard was Kate Bush's voice singing Don't Give Up, do you know that song? It's a duet with Peter Gabriel it's lovely, let them sing to you sometime today. Reply to me if you ever need more reasons to not give up I have a million of them, lost my dad to suicide when I was twelve and have battled those feelings for myself for 40 years, don't give up don't give up the world needs you✌✨

The video of Ronnie showing this to Jacoby before it was released is amazing. He was shaking he was so nervous, and Jacoby loved it and gave him his blessing 100% This version, really allows you to deeply understand the huge magnitude of the lyrics. It’s the version the adults who loved this as teens, really hits home now more, well done to FIR & Ronnie, powerful is an understatement

I don't think it's possible to judge which is "better" because they mean two completely different things. This version feels almost like a sequel even though it's the same lyrics. It's the voice of the same character as the original, but 20 years later. They survived but never got the help they needed. They've managed to repress over the years but they're still dealing with it, and maybe there's been a new trigger in their life. The original was with the desperation and power of young angst; the conviction that "my life shouldn't be this way and I'm angry". This version is a much older person who no longer has that strength to keep fighting and is just crying out for help.
@mirandacoulter888

It’s two sides of the same coin. The rage and then the despair. One’s no less important or less real than the other. It’s just that progression of emotion.

I just thought of something else....I think the two versions are a perfect analogy for real life, how many people out there have lost a friend or loved one to suicide, and everyone says "OMG, he/she was the life of the party, the one everyone wanted to be around, he/she is the last person we would have thought was in that dark of a place!!" Jacoby was screaming those lyrics at the top of his lungs, but they were disguised under a kick ass beat and some crunchy guitars, just like we hide our pain by putting on a happy face. Damn, Ronnie is schooling us by using Jacoby as a conduit, the man is brilliant!!

Papa Roach's "Last Resort" was a song that came out in 2000. It was much faster paced, and was a bit of an "angry Teenager" style song. But with the same lyrics. Many people used it to 'rage out' to after bad days at school, loosing a game, or just bad day in life in general. For some of us though, it was a quit literal life-saver song, even in its faster-angrier-version. Ronnie captures what this song was for those of us who were kept afloat by the original song. 6:59 - 7:42 = the battle far to many of us fought, given in music form. And not everyone won their battle.

This is my take on this. Papa Roach's song was great for its time! It was more of a rock bop that made you want to get out of your seat and had that whole "teenage angst" in it that we all love! This version tho, the lyrics are the focal point and it brought a whole new meaning to the song. I didn't realize just how heavy (lyrically emotional) it was! It's like 2 different songs, you can't truly compare them

Papa Roach is a band that I wasn’t really into so I don’t know their songs and of course I’ve heard the original version. Having said that, this song hit me like a freight train, I didn’t realize this song was so damn heavy. Sh*t I had to stop to hold back tears in a couple spots that it’s so relatable or that it took me back to a time I was in the same position, felt exactly the same. Now I’m gonna have to check more into both bands how does the saying go? Better late then never.

Okay WTF Ronnie! First he does this with his own songs, now he's covering other bands songs and doing the same thing? What can Ronnie NOT do someone please tell me, what can Ronnie Radke NOT make sound beyond words incredible? OMG! I LOVE this song and this makes me LOVE Ronnie and Falling in Reverse even MORE! Anyway this song HIT/SMACKED me HARD, the lyrics are so hauntingly beautiful and relatable I've been really struggling with depression for the last few weeks now. The last couple of days have been the worst, I've NEVER thought about taking my own life or cut myself and I NEVER would. BUT this song is depression/anxiety in a nutshell, the raw emotion in Ronnie's voice is insane. You can feel it in your soul literally OMG! I'd LOVE to see Falling in Reverse live, I'd lose my voice screaming the lyrics to all the songs they played. Popular Monster would make me have zero voice cause I'd scream the lyrics to that song so loud, I'd bawl my eyes out too, and if they played this song I'd cry harder.

Honestly preferred the Papa Roach original. I feeI this makes the song too sad where the original was more angry and I think that fits better. You're not feeling sad about doing that if you're telling people. Sadness is more when you're sad first and then thinking about the act. I like both bands probable know Falling In Reverse a bit better as a band. To each their own.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I never much cared for Papa Roaches Last Resort, even though I was and still am a huge fan of papa roach. I had the Infest album and Last Resort was the only song I ever skipped, maybe because I always heard it everywhere lol. I found 'Between Anges and Insects' to be the superior song on that album. That said, now listening to Ronnies version, it gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it...He DEFINITELY did it better. And now I love this song.
