Song is from 1913, "O, Brother" brought it back into the lime light. Everything Home Free does is vocal, they are an All Vocal Country Band, their words. But they do Boys II Men, Megan Trainor, Cam, also do lots of songs with the original artist. Like Oak Ridge Boys and "Elvira", or Lee Greenwood with "Proud To Be An American". Mixes like, "Country Fried Pop" or "Butt's Remix". Seen them live and it was incredible. They are like 5 Tenors, 5 Altos, 4 Bassos, 5 Beatboxers.... in one band. For you guys info: Austin Brown (Hat, center front, High Tenor), Rob Lundquist (overalls, left front, Tenor), Tim Foust (long hair, right front, Basso Profundo), Adam Chance (hat & black vest, left back, Baritone, goes by Chance), Adam Rupp (suspenders, right back, Beatboxer). Listed each and their normal 'spot', however these brothers can do anything. All I will ask is really get to know what each is capable of doing in different songs/genres before you listen to "Mayday" the Cam cover.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group

The Soggy Bottom Boys did the track for the movie with Geo. Clooney, but the original is from 1913 -- an old mountain Bluegrass song. Home Free did it masterfully without instruments, and is my favorite vocal band. Tim's low notes as bass rhythm and verse, Austin and Rob with their soulful tenor, Chance with his baritone harmony and "mouth harp", and last but not least, Adam on percussion and "nomonica" (as the fans name it) -- what a cohesive group of mixed talents! Keep following Home Free -- they won't let you down.

A lot of people characterize the top three acapella groups as high school cliques: Pentatonix are the student council, Voiceplay are the theater kids, and Home Free are the guys having a tailgate party in the parking lot. You really hit on the persona of the group very quickly. In their music videos, their behind the scenes videos, and interviews they come across as very approachable, fun guys. Some of their music videos (Hillbilly Bone, Land of the Free, Brother, Snapback, Friends in Low Places,...) will make you really wish you could hang out with them.

They competed and won the same show as Pentatonix (no the before their name, just PTX or Pentatonix, lol) the next season...season 2 of the Sing Off! They are both phenomenally talented and use their voices to create all the sounds and instruments you hear. Its a Johnny Cash cover...yes its on the O Brother Where Art Tho? Soundtrack, but not their version, the other one.love that you guys gave this a try...I HIGHLY recommend their Butts Remix \Medley its completely up you guys alley as far as humor.😄thanks for checking this out🎶🔥✌

They can make you dance, cry and make you fall out of your seat laughing. It is all vocals but when they colab with other artists who use instruments you will see the instruments. Thanks for reacting to Home Free.

If they use an instrument you will see it. The beatboxer, Adam, can simulate all kinds of sounds and we all say he must have swallowed a drum kit since it sounds so realistic. The didgeridoo sound is being made by the last person you see at the end of the video. These guys won season 4 of the Sing-Off show. PTX won season 3. We call the harmonica the “nomonica” since Adam is making the sound from his throat. They just came back from a European tour. These guys are world class too. Every sound you hear on this recording is made with the human voice.

Welcome to the rabbit hole boys! I can't believe you're just discovering Home Free!! There isn't really much competition between the 3 top groups (Pentatonix, Home Free, and Voice Play) mostly because all 3 groups are talented and offer something different. As a happy Home Fry, I can tell you....they are even better live! They have a huge catalog, cross genres (everything from Opera to country, Pop, classic rock, and even Gospel). They don't do covers. They do upgrades. They also have some phenomenal originals as well! Three of the members are exceptional writers. I am glad you discovered them at this time of year, because nobody does Christmas songs like they do! Sit back and prepare to be WOWED! There is so much more I want to say, but I'll leave some for all the other Home Fries to share!

Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Man of Constant Sorrow is an old bluegrass song from the 20's. These guys are Masters of all musical genres. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.

I enjoyed your reaction-quite thoughtful. Their version of Do You Hear What I Hear? is phenomenally complex. It was arranged by the beat boxer Adam Rupp and it is truly a feast for the ears as there is soooo much going on in the background and the setting of the video is pretty cool too. I can listen to this song year-round. This will be an interesting and joyful ride should you continue on this Home Free venture. They recently returned from a European tour and were in Australia back in March performing at the huge country music festival there called CMC Rocks (Zac Brown band, Hardy,Cam, Morgan Wallen were among the performers). But they do soooo much more than country. They are about the feel of a song and the conveyance of it and are definitely not about glitz or glam.

They call themselves a band, a "vocal band." Their beatboxer, Adam Rupp, is phenomenal. Their bass, Tim Foust, says he tries to sound like a bass guitar as much as possible, AND he has a great voice, with a 5-octave range. Chance, who played the jaw harp in this one (you called it a dijeridoo) makes guitar sounds, as do the others. Mix in a lot of wailing, soul adlibs, a gospel vibe, or yodeling -- just great SOUNDS -- and you've got #homefree gumbo. Every video is a different vibe. You never know what you're going to get. Musicians love them.

They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

This is one HELL of a rabbit hole to go down in. I'd suggest, to see their range of covers and talent: - End of the Road cover by Boys II Men - Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers - Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist Sing Opera - Brother - great singing and hilarious video, with an elf, a wizard, and a Star Wars storm trooper - Butts Remix - and if you want to see what the Home Fries call the ' nomonica ', check out their cover of Garth Brooks' "Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up". And, finally, look up Adam Rupp beatboxing. It'll blow you away. Also also: the other leg of the tripod of the Big Three for acapella is Voiceplay - True Colors - Valhalla Calling - Seven Nation Army - Dream On - Hoist the Colours (from Pirates of the Carribean) - Creep

This group began in Minnesota. The Rupp brothers started the group. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer. Chris left a bit after they won the sing-off (the year after Pentatonix won). They added Rob (bearded tenor) next. Tim (bass blaster) is from Texas but was asked to join HomeFree on a cruise to fill in. They soon asked him to stay. On another cruise, the group met Austin (the other tenor) and they got along so, when an opening developed, they asked him to join (just before their sing-off appearance). After Chris Rupp left, HomeFree found Adam Chance (known as Chance) to fill out the five part harmony. Adam and Rob still live in Minneapolis. Tim and Austin (Austin is originally from Georgia) live in Nashville where the group does a lot of their recording though their engineer team is based in Minnesota. Chance (from Alabama) lives in California. These guys tour extensively and recently finished an international leg in Europe. They have now switched to their Christmas tour. After the holidays, they will, likely, take some much needed rest, and then head out on the road again. They might not have as much acclaim as Pentatonix but they are just as prolific. I love 'em both but love HF just that much more. The other group (of the big three) is Voiceplay. There is also one more group that is on the rise called The Bass Gang and they have collaborated with some of the other groups bass singers.

Very good reaction. I think Home Free and PTX are both incredible a cappella groups. Voice Play is another a cappella group that is phenomenal, but they are all 5 member groups with a beat boxer. If you want to blow your mind, listen to Voctave. They have 11 members, (5 women, 6 men) and they are literally like a vocal orchestra. Their Great Movie Medley is an homage to the composer John Williams, where they cover songs from his many movies like Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. The other one of theirs that blows my mind is their Nutcracker Medley. But really any of their songs are incredible, from the very high sopranos to the low basses. All of their members could easily have a solo career but lend their incredibly talented voice to this group instead. Also, unlike the other 3 groups that are all full time groups, VOCTAVE is the side job for these people. They all at one point have in the past or now work for Walt Disney World in Orlando, singing with either Voices of Liberty in the American Pavilion at EPCOT, and/or they sang with the Dapper Dans on Main Street at Magic Kingdom. They sing a mix of Broadway, Disney, Christmas, & Americana styles of music. Check them out, I’m sure it would be worth your while. Their wall of sound will blow you away.

The song is way older than the movie. The movie made it popular but it’s about 100 years old. Home Free is amazing. 5 talented men. The beatboxer was doing the harmonica, drums and other sounds. Chance (back left) was doing the mouth harp sound (sounds like a didgeridoo). They are country but sing all genres of music and love to be silly. Try the Butts Medley, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. 🤣😍

Enjoyed your HF reaction. Like your Braves hat. I’m a Home Fry. Hope you’ll do more HF reactions. They are phenomenal and just good guys!

I Love watching you two react to these acapella groups but I must let you know there are three main acapella groups out there Voiceplay is the next group you have to do between these three acapella groups you will have so many songs to go through you will think you will never get through them all, but since Christmas is coming up you should do there original song Champagne Taste (On a Beer Budget) (not Christmas) then follow it up with the sequal to it their Christmas song Full of Cheer (another original by them) please❕❗☺️☺️ Oh and if you wanna see an acapella battle just watch Voiceplay featuring Home Free when they covered Survivor together, that was funny to watch❕❗ 🤣🤣

Dan Tyminski and Ron Block played this live at the first Crossroads Guitar Festival and it’s an incredible performance. Not on KZbin anymore, though.

I've seen them dozens of times, they do all genres. Tim has the deepest bass in acapella rn and adam(beatboxer) is best in the business

Thank you would love Listen to the Music. They just released a live concert song Sea Shanty Melody. You will enjoy both.

You could check out the Riff-Offs from the three Pitch Perfect movies if you want to see an accapella style battle 😅

#HomeFree - my favorite Acapella fellas and they never disappoint. They do a lot of different genres and they are extremely talented individually and phenomenal as a group. You will if not already be bombarded with suggestions from any and all #HomeFries that see you reacting to specifically #HomeFree and other reactions of genres we're just really partial to the #HF gentlemen. 🤭 I do recommend Butts Remix or Medley, Can't Stop the Feeling (Justin Timberlake) and the percussionist and freak of nature solo by #AdamRupp. Two others songs that showcase their many talents How Great Thou Art (beautiful scenery filmed in Austria) and Do You Hear What I Hear (breathtaking ice maze filmed in Minnesota). They can be extremely funny but the vocals - always rock solid just love their antics. Sorry for the novel but ya gotta go down the rabbit hole. Ciao

You guys might be interested in listening to the Charlie Daniel's Band's song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia ". Some say that it could be considered the first rap song produced. (Even though it's country).

Every sound in the recording was created by mouth, even the crackly sound of an old record on the player.

New sub here for # HOMEFREE. And I think y’all are pretty honest with your opinions. Thank you for the feedback on HOMEFREE.

5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, 2 baritones, 1 sub woofer bass, and 1 human sound machine beat boxer, that is HOME FREE. stack that up to any other group or band, for they are a band with Adam Rupp as their beat boxer. don't believe me check out their cover of the Doobie Brothers classic rock song -- Listen to the music. you don't miss the instruments. or their cover of "love train" and many more. and the classic song American Pie with the man himself Don Mclean. but you must check out Home Free song "Butts melody aka Butts Remix"

Home Free is really beyond words! Of the three big acapella groups is my favorite (the only ones I listen too except for the occasional visit to the others), not because they’re “better” than the others but my favorite. They sing every genre, and do it well, with seeming ease. Keep on going down the rabbit hole guys and I promise you won’t be disappointed with any of their songs…covers and originals!
