Yo what's up Trash Talkers. It's surreal to see so many people loving my video through the years. This is Curtis Moss, the drummer from the Tool video. I'm 24 now, and have a band called Backhand Blue based in Nashville, TN featuring Macy Addis and Eli Dykstra from OKeefe Music Foundation. Thanks guys!

They all play their request when they age out of the program. Most of the videos you see, one of the kids has reached their end at the school. I believe it's 19 but not positive. If it was the drummers request, it would be as he was exiting.

The way I heard it, Kala Rose went to a concert to see some of her favorite bands. There was to be an autograph signing and she was excited to get some of the musicians signatures. She was told the signing table was set up and she went to get in line. The table was for her. In the line was the bands she was there to see...to get HER autograph!

There is a TON of amazing content on the O'Keefe channel. This stuff is like 10 years old, they're all grown up now. The singer grew up to become quite the vocalist, has her own band etc. The drummer is the real standout imo here. He has his own channel now and that young man is a BEAST. Playing polyrhythms at his age, crazy. Watch it again and focus on him, kids nuts. The bass player also very good.

Theres a lot thats amazing with this cover and its how me and a lot of people realized the singer (Kala Rose) has got some PIPES. The drummer is amazing and all the extra elements (bongos, piano) just make it different and original. A lot of these kids in this performance and in O'Keefe's Music Foundation (Ill call it OKMF for short) have their own bands now too, including Kala. Theres also another Tool cover they did where Kala was also on vocals (the song Sober, maybe next Tool Tuesday? *wink wink*). Kala is an amazing singer and has improve with time and age. I can see u guys loving their covers of Korn's Freak on a Leash and Black Label Society's "Crazy Horse" as well. I cant say it enough, every kid that has became part of the OKMF has gone to give timeless covers and be able to form amazing bands. I hope to see you two reacting to more covers from OKMF in the near future, same with Kala's band, Saving Escape, who released an EP that was dropped in 2019, I believe, with 8 songs that r all bangers. Fun fact: This cover got local radio airplay in a few towns in Ohio and Kala and another member of this cover lineup were interviewed on a radio station as well around that time too. Ive also heard this cover on the radio once in Wisconsin, which happily surprised me.

Thank you for doing this. Support the foundation by diving into some of the other incredible songs kids are covering under the foundation. TOOL songs they have covered are good. Pull Me Under , the Dream Theater song is excellent , plus Crazy Horse and Cry Little Sister are done , then you get into Slipknot songs. Enjoy brothers.... PS I'm certain interviews the foundation has commented their thanks to TOOL for their support

@@TheJaxxT you're not wrong...it's the same girl, Kala Rose. today she sings in a blues/rock band called Saving Escape. they self-released an album in 2019. Kala also came back to the foundation to do one of the five different 'The Pot' versions, she sings in the 2nd version. the female bassist in the 1st version is also a member of Saving Escape. and the drummer in the 3rd version is the same drummer as in '46&2', just a few years older. the 3rd version is killer, check it out if you haven't. i posted links to the 'The Pot' versions here in the comments.

@@godscoldhands77 oh so you’re a part of the foundation then I assume? It seems like an incredible place. If we didn’t live across the pond, (I’m assuming you’re in the US) then my son would’ve definitely been a part of it. He’s a self taught guitarist now, and it was from around the age of 15 when he first started. He’s absolutely incredible if I do say so myself. Gojira are his influence, and he doesn’t miss a note from any of their songs. Granted he’s coming up to 22 now but I’m talking when he was younger. The technical side of Gojira was no problem for him. I know he would’ve started at a younger age if we had a foundation like yours here nearby. It’s super impressive hearing about how the kids have progressed from the foundation and I wish them every success

@@TheJaxxT oh, no...i've got nothing to do with the foundation, i'm just curious and interested. i'm german living in germany... just following the yt channel of the foundation for a bunch of years, watching almost every video they upload and being totally impressed by the talent of this young musicians. it was the Dream Theater cover (Pull Me Under) that got me hooked a few years back, Kala became my favorite and so i wanted to know what she's doing with her talent outside of the foundation. yeah, Gojira is great, quite technical and not the easiest stuff, it sets the bar high.:) i myself played drums a while back, had a band (thrashy stuff like Testament), recorded a few tracks in a studio and played a lot of local shows. so i'm also familiar with the theoretical background. keep supporting your son.! it's the best feeling when your parents (or mom) are supporting what you love. i know this from my own experience...i began playing drums in school at the age of 14. i was so pumped to this that my parents bought my first drum kit as a christmas gift a few months later. they were supporting me all the time. that's how it all started...but i don't play drums anymore today.

YAAAAAASSSSSS! My children! They have many good ones! Go down the rabbit hole. They do Sober as well. Kayla is older and playing the guitar. Another good one is No More Tears!!

I may be in the minority, but something about the arrangement on the sober cover didn't work for me. I do however love that video in spite of that, mostly because the performance is superb and that freaking kid with the shovel.

@@bipbip1029 I love their cover of No More Tears in spite of the little guy dropping his sticks. It shows they’re learning. He just pick ‘em up and comes right back in. Usually you get people interested with 46 & 2. Then they go down the rabbit hole. I’ve been watching these kids since they were performing in the mall and the video quality was horrible.

I think the singer is like 20 now and she can sing so much better now. Her voice is amazing. You can find her name in this videos description so look her up.

This young girl sounds a lot like Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf. These kids are awesome! They did TOOL proud. I even love the piano element being included into the song.

Im searching you guys react to this and I wanted to say that this is what kids can accomplish with encouragement, nurturing, and freedom to explore creativity...these kids are GIFTED BEYOND most professionals.PHENOMENAL musicians... Every one of them!! Never underestimate what a kid can do...and the O'Keefe music foundation is an OUTSTANDING thing for these young people who have both an interest and passion for music.thank you for your reaction to this....also,rhythm is both a natural gift and a learned thing.however,if a person has no sense of rhythm then it will be much, much harder and sometimes not possible depending on the individual.🎶🔥✌

Yes you can Patience and creativity can go along way in helping a student with this sometimes difficult task. A great teacher understands that every student is different and will do whatever it takes to help a student learn. Clap, sing, draw, dance, and eventually, your natural rhythm will shine!
