Fun Fact: Paul Stanley wrote this song on a flight to Japan. "That was written in my head, the whole thing," he said in the 2004 book KISS: Behind the Mask. "When we landed, I had to play it to make sure it worked and it was all there. I think most of the time when you write songs that are great, you know it. I always thought 'Love Gun' was a great song, and today, I still think it is a tremendous song. It's probably the song I enjoy performing the most. To me, 'Love Gun' is quintessential Kiss and probably one of the five essential signature songs." - This Song Was In Guitar Hero 6 Warriors Of Rock.

There was wrestler in the old WCW that was called "The Demon" that came out in Gene's make up.only lasted a couple of years Paul Stanley wrote it on a flight from Los Angeles to New York.He went right into a studio & made a demo of it.

Gene Simmons "discovered" Van Halen and helped them put together a demo. At the same time, Kiss was putting together the album Love Gun. Gene worked out the song Christine Sixteen with Eddie & Alex then had the rest of the band play it exactly the way the Van Halen brothers played it.

I was in 3rd grade an 9 when their albums were new in 75. My friend and i drew pics of them in class a ton and I got the albums and some teen mags about them. They did have problems though because religious folks said it was kids in service to satan etc.... Huntington Wva had them play once and then banned them. I still wish I would have got to see them in concert.

Ace Frehley is my favorite. You need to hear him sing "Rocket Ride". He pretty much played all the instruments on that song and also did the vocals. His vocals are unique and cool.

My favorite member of KISS is Ace Frehley, who helped instigated my obsession with guitar. Played Kiss Alive and Kiss Alive 2 for hours jamming with a tennis racket until I picked up the instrument that I've played for over 40 years now. Since you mentioned Deuces at the very end of this video, the song Deuce is worth a listen for sure.

Great reaction! .. and yes, they have been “disco-metal”, particularly on Dynasty - check out Charisma and Sure Know Something from that album as two other examples from Gene and Paul, respectively. Paul Stanley was such as good singer at his peak that he was the final Phantom of the O pera for the 10 year run at the Pantages theater in Toronto. Saw that show twice and met him privately inside the theater by total luck of timing. Complete Gentleman. Didn’t have me kicked out or any bull like that. at his peak I would put him up against any other singer, including Freddie Mercury. But he definitely wasn’t disco, per se. He was challenged during the disco era to write a disco song and proved he could not only write one, but wrote an absolute banger with I was made for loving you. But his contribution to Dynasty, Magic Touch, was a totally melodic rock ‘n’ roll song. But honestly guys, if you haven’t already done it, a two for one with Detroit Rock City and Deuce live from the 2000 “farewell tour” at the Meadowlands in New Jersey is absolutely phenomenal, and includes the actual original for members. Otherwise, Black Diamond live from 1975 on “the midnight special“ show is absolute blood and guts hungry Kiss!

They all came up with their own characters,, they were popular WAY before "I was made for loving you" that came out in '79 , ""Love Gun " was 1977 this album was when they were at the pinnacle! They had made for tv movie & everything but the album ALIVE (1975, Gold) made them really hit, they made Alive II (1977 2x Platinum) right after this! "Beth" off of Destroyer (1976)won a peoples choice award.🤘😈

There is a wrestling connection with KISS. Gene decided to introduce the KISS Warriors in the WCW. There were to be 4 wrestlers, each representing a character from KISS. They introduced the Demon, played by Dale Torborg. However, the Demon was never a real fan favorite, so the other three characters were scrapped.

I was made for loving you was a song that Paul did because he said it would be easy to ride a disco song. It is their biggest world wide hit but they had a lot of rock before that. When I was made for Lovin you came out is when they started going downhill for a little bit

KISS more than any other band in history followed the trends in music. When they started, big over the top rock was popular. They did the disco thing when it was popular, luckily that was only a few years. In the 80s they took off the make up and embraced both hair and glam metal. Check out Lick It Up for the former and Tears Are Falling for the latter.

In fact KISS was never a disco band, it was one or two song in 1979 on the Dynasty album, they've always been a Rock N Roll/Hard Rock band and went different phases through the years on different albums, Pop oriented album with Unmasked the next year in 1980, a concept album in '81 with Music From The Elder wich was a total flop and a great heavier album in '82 with Creatures Of The Night, would be nice to see you guys reacting to songs like War Machine, Creatures Of The Night. Some non-makeup era songs like Unholy, Thrills In The Night, Heaven's On Fire, All Hell's Breakin' Loose (with Paul rapping a little for the verses).

I have been a KISS fan for 46 years and I can guarantee that they are definitely not disco metal (whatever that is). "I was made for loving you" was the sole and only song they ever did that had disco vibes (and Gene still hates the song, he often said that in interviews). If you want to put a genre on KISS then what they are is 'glam rock' or 'hard rock', at least considering their 70s stuff. In the 80s they got more elements of 'AOR' and 'hair metal'/'glam metal'.
