Hands down. ABSOLUTLEY THE BEST "SMOOTH TEXTURED LOOK" video with the best looking results! But , beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thank you for this video. I've seen a few people that have used Raptor like that, but they don't really explain the mixtures. I had an older truck I did the conventional way and it came out perfect but looked like an uber apocalyptic tank. Now I have a newer truck with super thin factory paint that chips when the wind blows. I like the look with the hvlp gun for a less doomsday appearance.

Yes I agree, the hvlp is much better for a less Mad Max look

Cool video man. I like the texture. I was able to get a similar texture with 2 coats, 70 psi while standing around 2-3 feet away. After eat coat if you stand about 3-4 ft back and lightly mist spray over your coat it really evens things out and fills in the large gaps between the clumps of liner.

About to do the rocker panels on my truck with the raptor liner. Nice to see a new video with the HVLP gun thanks!

Make sure your prep work is A+ quality. I raptor lined my rockers over a year ago and they started rusting through in a few months due to bad prep work. Eventually I will have to cut out the rockers and weld in new ones. But my truck is also pretty old lol

@@ItsStuder oh man that would suck lol. Mines a 2014 ram just has some rock chips. Alaska problems. I’m going to sand everything and prime the rock chips with etching primmer. Then shoot the color matched raptor liner with the 2.5 hvlp. I’m wanting the same texture as you got it looks perfect.

Yeah that should work. Mine is a 2003 and my rockers were holes when I got the truck. It's still better now than when I got it. But eventually it'll need replacement.

Looks good. What are the effects of overspray? Did you need to protect your work space? Thanks for sharing this info

I have a trailer I'm building ,using fir plywood and it is 5x5x8 teardrop ,I'll be using 2 gallons,could I mix gallon portions ,I am using a 2.5 mm gun as well?

Do you recommend the 2.5 tip? Another guy said 1.3 tip with 30% reducer to get a smooth finish like that. Thanks! Buying the gun from harbor freight and spraying tomorrow.
@TeddyxxMexx2 ай бұрын
1.3 is too small, even 1.7 i personally used & it was difficult to get it come out spraying really good.
@islandj39 Жыл бұрын
You get a much finer finish with higher PSI and a 1.8 tip. Instead of spongy orange peel it looks like 220 grit sand paper.

You’ve done this with a 1.8 hvlp with raptor liner? Please share more details

Cool video but when you said grams instead of ounces I was dazed and confused.

Any idea why mine turned into rubber 30 seconds into shaking it? #Stumped Thanks in advance...

No spray action or gun info? If spending time & money, why not fix the crack? I don’t understand. ASE Master Tech - Retired
