That quote for powder coat is cheap compared to out here. One of the guys was quoted $1200+ for all four flares. Been thinking about inners(new ones) matte black diy, and powder coat myself from Napa paint. Really making me think about investing into raptor lining some parts. Awesome video!

Dude, no way I could ever spend tht kind of money into powder coat of something I’m going to destroy... my soul would be screaming in rage every time I hit it... knowing I could have used tht extra $1k into something more useful... Glad to hear u enjoyed! If u go aluminum u don’t have to coat it either 😊
@Venom-kq5xz4 жыл бұрын
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD ya that’s why I’m glad about the front inners I’ll be getting. As for the flares I’m leaning towards Metalcloak or nemesis ind, but I was thinking steel for strength but that’s more weight. I have been on my flares before and can understand why steel would be the better choice with some raptor lining.

Check out spraymax 2k spray paint. It's a 2 part clear coat that has hardener in it like professional painters use. They have primer and basecoat but I've just used rustoleum then spraymaxx clear coat. I did my Savvy front bumper with the stuff and it looks professional. It's great stuff for spray paint areas, makes the spray paint last longer and comes out with a hardened finish. I also taught myself how to powder coat and did my wheels, innere fenders, recoated my RK control arms and springs but it's not easy to get it right. My neighbor built an oven out of a an orange metal jobsite box and random oven parts, you can put everything in it. fully agree with you, spray paint or raptor liner the parts that you are going to scratch up. Thanks for making the videos man. If you're ever in the denver area reach out. I'm @Jeepjeep303

This is a very well done video Mo. I love that you come out of the gate and say it's not the best option but for the price and what it offers, it's a good option. I think for somebody who doesn't wheel their Jeep. Powder coat is probably a really good option. But stripping powder coat when it starts to really get chipped and worn away. It is definitely a mofo to strip. I have powder coat , raptor liner ,bed liner and spray paint on my vehicle. I have to agree that the raptor liner and the bed liner are my go-to's for the price point and for the protection.
@JLLIFEOFFROAD4 жыл бұрын
thanks for watching brother. Agreed stripping powder coating is a messy hell. So will stripping RL in the event I decide to do it, BUT the task will go faster. And I completely forgot to mention in this video, raptor liner is great because it is flexible... ugh, amateur mistakes hahaha. Thanks for watching Mark, appreciate you!
