I’m so glad I just ran into this. I was blessed with a 60-year career as a studio singer and in the 1960’s I had the honor and the joy of working on the Dean Martin Show for 6 years as a member of an 8-voice backup group, 4 guys and 4 gals. Dean was a consummate professional, so kind and genuine to everyone. The whole drinking thing was an act, the glass had apple juice in it. Yes he loved his family fiercely and he loved us gals but always with the deepest respect. I have the most wonderful memories of those years and truly miss my old boss.

Love this man. My whole family did - father, mother, sister. Classy, cool and laid back (not lazy). How enjoyable to see such a man compared to the boundless idiots we have today.

Dean is probably my favorite male singer of all time. He was the kind of guy you'd like to meet in person. My aunt saw Dean walking through the casino she was at, and she called his name "Dean! Dean!" but he probably didn't hear her. When he saw her disappointment, he stopped immediately, and said hello to her. Regis Philbin used to say that Dean was his favorite singer as well, and in his office, Regis had a lot of Dean Martin memorabilia, and every record that Dean ever released. How great is that...a star idolizing an even bigger star!

Lazy? That's a laugh! He made hit records, he sold out concerts, he made great movies---funny and serious! It was reported that he did not rehearse for one minute when he was starring in his long running TV variety show, yet when a legendary dancer like Juliet Prowse would appear, he matched her step-for-step during electrifying dance segments. I am 64 and I am grateful that I was alive during this era.

A great crooner a decent actor and a stand up guy damn shame some people die but it’s a trip we all make. God certainly has a great choir and Deano is probably centre stage. RIP Deano you are missed.

got to see this magnificent talented man in the early 80's riding in the back seat of his stuts bearcat, personalized license plate DRUNKY! more talent in his little finger than any so called entertainer of today!!!

The bit about ''I try to have a little fun when I work'' is such a cool understatement. Legend has it that his shows were mainly unrehearsed regarding the interviews - I imagine the musical parts would have been rehearsed if only to determine the keys to play in. :)
