"Ordinary catholic families cannot survive. They must be extraordinary catholic families. They must be what I do not hesitate to call 'heroic' catholic families.Ordinary catholic families are no match for the devil as he uses media of communication to secularize and desacralize modern society. No less than ordinary individual catholics can survive,so ordinary catholic families cannot survive. They have no choice. They must either be holy- which means sanctified - or they will disappeared". Fr John Hardon S.J Many Catholics easily stray away from the faith that they received. What are the reasons for their falling into complacency, becoming indifferent and even hostile towards Christ and the Christian Faith? The fault with many Catholics is that they think baptism is a graduation from having acquired knowledge and understanding of their faith. After completing their catechism classes or RCIA journey, they no longer seek out opportunities to continue growing their faith, both doctrinally and spiritually. Their only occasion to grow in faith is the one-hour Mass that they attend every Sunday. This is hardly enough to sustain the life of a Catholic. Those who do not grow in their faith are already losing their faith. There is no neutrality. How, then, can we grow in our faith? Firstly, we need to deepen our intimacy with God through Christ. In Christ, we come to know and love the Father. Secondly, we must be rooted in the Word of God. We cannot grow in our faith without deepening our love and appreciation for the Word of God through bible study and most of all, a prayerful reading and sharing of the Word of God. Thirdly, we must seek the support of the Christian community. A Catholic without the support of his fellow Catholics will eventually fall out from the faith, especially when he undergoes the trials and challenges of life, the influence of secularism, and the materialistic, individualistic and atheistic views of the world. Fourthly, to grow our faith, we need to evangelise and be a witness to Christ. We evangelise ourselves by evangelising others. By sharing our faith with others, we strengthen our own faith. By teaching our faith to others, we grow in understanding and clarity in what we believe in. Finally, growing in faith is to grow in our Christian life. This is the most effective form of witnessing. It means that those of us who are baptised must live a life of holiness and purity, free from sin and a bad conscience. A life of holiness and charity are the fruits of a strong spiritual life and a life of hope founded in the promises of God. If the Catholic Church is accused of being satanic, that is no more than its Founder, Jesus Christ, was accused of. When our Lord was on earth, he had the same problem. He was driving demons out, and some said he was doing this by the power of the devil. How did Jesus respond? He said, “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him” (Mk 3:23-26). The Catholic Church drives out the devil, too. This practice is called exorcism. No one can deny that the Catholic Church has been doing exorcisms on people and driving out Satan for nearly two millennia. Therefore, we must reason like Jesus: If the Catholic Church were from the devil, it could not drive the devil out. We shouldn’t be surprised when such charges are made against the Catholic Church. Jesus told us, “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master; it is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household” (Mt 10:24-25). Images and Statues, Relics & Holy Water I. Images and Statues Deut. 4:15 - from this verse, Protestants say that since we saw “no form” of the Lord, we should not make graven images of Him. Deut. 4:16 - of course, in early history Israel was forbidden to make images of God because God didn’t yet reveal himself visibly “in the form of any figure.” Deut. 4:17-19 - hence, had the Israelites depicted God not yet revealed, they might be tempted to worship Him in the form of a beast, bird, reptile or fish, which was a common error of the times. Exodus 3:2-3; Dan 7:9; Matt. 3:16; Mark 1:10; Luke 3:22; John 1:32; Acts 2:3- later on, however, we see that God did reveal himself in visible form (as a dove, fire, etc). Deut. 5:8 - God’s commandment “thou shall not make a graven image” is entirely connected to the worship of false gods. God does not prohibit images to be used in worship, but He prohibits the images themselves to be worshiped. Exodus 25:18-22; 26:1,31 - for example, God commands the making of the image of a golden cherubim. This heavenly image, of course, is not worshiped by the Israelites. Instead, the image disposes their minds to the supernatural and draws them to God. Num. 21:8-9 - God also commands the making of the bronze serpent. The image of the bronze serpent is not an idol to be worshiped, but an article that lifts the mind to the supernatural. I Kings 6:23-36; 7:27-39; 8:6-67 - Solomon’s temple contains statues of cherubim and images of cherubim, oxen and lions. God did not condemn these images that were used in worship. 2 Kings 18:4 - it was only when the people began to worship the statue did they incur God’s wrath, and the king destroyed it. The command prohibiting the use of graven images deals exclusively with the false worship of those images. 1 Chron. 28:18-19 - David gives Solomon the plan for the altar made of refined gold with a golden cherubim images. These images were used in the Jews’ most solemn place of worship. 2 Chron. 3:7-14 - the house was lined with gold with elaborate cherubim carved in wood and overlaid with gold. Ezek. 41:15 - Ezekiel describes graven images in the temple consisting of carved likenesses of cherubim. These are similar to the images of the angels and saints in many Catholic churches. Col. 1:15 - the only image of God that Catholics worship is Jesus Christ, who is the “image” (Greek “eikon”) of the invisible God. II. Relics Mark 15:43; John 19:38 - Joseph of Arimathea sought Christ’s dead body instead of leaving it with the Romans. Joseph gave veneration to our Lord’s body. Mark 16:1; Luke 24:1 - the women came to further anoint Christ’s body even though it had been sealed in the tomb. John 19:39 - Nicodemus donated over one hundred pounds of spices to wrap in Jesus’ grave clothes. This is also veneration of our Lord’s body. Matt. 9:21; Mark 5:28 - the woman with the hemorrhage just sought the hem of Christ’s cloak and was cured. This shows that God uses physical things to effect the supernatural. Acts 19:11-12 - Paul’s handkerchiefs healed the sick and those with unclean spirits. This is another example of physical things effecting physical and spiritual cures. Acts 5:15 - Peter’s shadow healed the sick. This proves that relics of the saints have supernatural healing power, and this belief has been a part of Catholic tradition for 2,000 years. Rev. 6:9 - the souls of the martyrs are seen beneath the heavenly altar. Their bones are often placed beneath altars in Catholic churches around the world. 2 Kings 13:21 - Elisha’s bones bring a man back to life. The saints’ bones are often kept beneath the altars of Catholic churches and have brought about supernatural cures throughout the Christian age. Rom. 13:7; Phil. 2:25-29; Heb. 3:3; 1 Pet. 2:7 - we are taught to honor the people of God and in 1 Cor. 4:16-17; 1 Cor. 11:1-2; Phil. 3:17; 1 Thess. 1:6; 2 Thess. 3:7; Heb. 6:12; Heb. 13:7; James 5:10-11 - we are reminded to imitate them. Keeping relics of the saints serves both to honor and imitate their heroic faith in Christ (just as keeping articles of deceased loved ones helps us honor and imitate them). III. Holy Water Ex. 29:4; Lev. 8:6 - Aaron and his sons were washed in holy water in their consecration to the priesthood. Thus, we see the use of holy water during the beginning of salvation history. Ex. 30:18-19 - the Lord requires Aaron and his sons to wash their hands and feet in holy water before they offered sacrifices to Him. The Church uses holy water for various purposes, and holy water fonts are generally located at the entrance of Catholic churches to be used before the sacrifice of Christ is offered to the Father. Num. 5:17 - here again, the priest uses holy water. God uses natural matter to convey the supernatural, just as God who is Spirit became flesh in Christ Jesus. Num. 8:7 - the Lord says to “sprinkle them with the water of remission.” The Lord uses water, a physical property, to convey His supernatural property of grace. 1 Kings 7:38-39 - in King Solomon’s temple, there were ten large basins of holy water. Holy water has always been used in the context of worship. John 9:6-7 - Jesus uses clay and spittle to heal the blind man’s eyes, and ordered him to wash in the pool of Siloam to effect the cure. Jesus did not need to use spittle, clay and water, but He does to demonstrate that God uses the material things He created to give graces and heal us. John 13:4-10 - the Lord uses water to wash the apostles’ feet to prepare them for their sacramental priesthood. John 19:34 - water and blood flowed from Jesus’ pierced side on the Cross. The Church uses holy water as a symbol of our Lord’s life giving water that flowed from His sacred Heart, and as the property which brings about the power of Jesus Christ Himself, in baptism, the Eucharist, and other sacred rites of the Church.

Likewise. I am Episcopalian. I wish that my Church would involve themselves with understanding the demonic reality & Practicing exorcism. I am trying to learn on my own. I DO believe, & it IS my experience that anyone--even a non-believer--can cast out evil in the Holy Name of Jesus. Jesus, Himself, *_WILL_* INTERVENE & CAST OUT DEMONS. Whether the person affected by the demons, or doing the casting out is a Christian. But,of course, one who has made the Sacred Covenant of Baptism with Jesus, & walks the Path of Discipleship of have more power & ability. But, Jesus is the Elder Brother & Savior of ALL OF US, & WILL HELP ALL OF US--whether we understand & appreciate Him, or not. Jesus is PURE Love & Compassion . He will help ALL OF US, REGARDLESS. I have never tried this on a practicing satanist, who willingly, purposely comports with evil. I have only done it with people who WANT to be released, or who have no understanding to even KNOW that it is the demonic that is their problem. I am _very clear_ that the reality of demons is an huge factor in what goes on in our lives & this world. It may not be full-on possession, but there is constant, regular stream of demonic obsession & oppression. And, satanism & the dark occult is woven into EVERYTHING & getting WORSE. (I have been studying satanism-- *_NOT TO PRACTICE, BUT TO KNOW MINE ENEMY_* -- & now that I know what to look for, I can see it EVERYWHERE. 💔 It horrifies me & breaks my heart. And, I can see how SO MUCH of what is happening is the unfolding of satanist agendae. Now that I am understanding more about satanism, it is very clear to me in ways that it never was. New Age stuff, & the normalization of occult practices & witchcraft, in particular, ESPECIALLY aimed at & amongst *_CHILDREN_* 💔 It scares me, & sickens me, & breaks my heart.💔) And, I think that we all need to be aware of this (in a grounded, calm, non-hysterical, not-freaked-out way), & act against it. We are in the end times, & the Bible says that it will be "as it was in the days of Noah" , & that the gates of hell will be opened & the residents loosed upon the Earth, & the Nephilim will be loosed as well. I, frankly, do not believe that we can solve the problems of this world WITHOUT recognizing this & taking ACTION against it. We are, *_in stark REALITY,_* engaged in _Spiritual warfare._

I am also not Catholic, however I believe that many Catholics will be saved because they repent their sins to Christ Jesus and Believe in their heart. I knew an older woman years ago (she likely is with the Lord now) that taught me a lot and she went to many churches in the area because she said the only truth that was 100% correct is the Bible. Man corrupts she said, and man corrupts scripture so we must pray and study. At the end of the day though I believe that you must believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and died for us as our savior and that you need to repent of your sins to Jesus. I do not believe that any man can forgive your sins, only Jesus as our intercessor before God the Father. Jesus truly God and truly Man came to save you as well. Repent of your sins and trust in him.

This interview answered a situation that was brought to light a few years ago, regarding a gentleman discovering a small box at the Masonic Lodge with photos of my Mother’s parents and myself. This has been very troubling for me, not knowing why, other than to KNOW that it wasn’t for good reasons. As a teenager, after months of indoctrination to enter the Rainbows, I had decided not to follow through. The night before initiation, when the candidates were taken into the ceremonial room of the lodge and given a run through. It was then that I was told that I would have to swear allegiance to ancient false gods. This didn’t sit well with me, having accepted Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and Savior. The podcast had been coming up on my feed late at night, when I certainly did not want to engage in the spiritual warfare listening to would undoubtedly bring... I can not thank you enough for this informative interview. I am now armed with the knowledge that I have been seeking for several years. With diligence, the Grace of God and the Sacred Blood of Jesus, I will break the generational curses placed upon my family. Godspeed 🙏🏻.

She end up being at my house for four hours, groan, moan it sounded like an animal noise and then she looked at me and asked “Aren’t you afraid of me?” I said no. I know Psalm 90 by heart and I couldn’t remember even a first word. She said that she is tired lay down, while she was on my sofa I searched psalm 90 on my phone and read it continuously. When she left I felt off emotionally, physically and spiritually. I re-blessed my house and with holy myrth put crosses on the wall. It took me five days to recover and I had a communion. I prepared well for communion with fasting, praying for this person, spent days in prayers and silence. Only after communion I felt relieved.

Superb dialogue guys and this priest has a way of hitting his message hard in ways we can relate to. Having experienced evil first hand many times in my life I can totally relate to his words. Don't under estimate just how widespread demonic oppression and influence are. The danger about it is that hides its motives and effects really well. The only way to avoid or fight it in your own personal life is to attend the sacraments, especially confession, regularly and pray for the grace of humility. Without humility cannot have wisdom. It is a catylist for evil for pride to be exercised. It leads to anger, violence, temptation, temper, bad choices and many other sins. With pride we fail to recognise our own failings and forget to pray. Confession, the Eucharist and daily prayer is essential. Place a blessed St Benedicts medal in each corner of your home, wear a miraculous medal and be selective about what you invite into your home especially where the tv is concerned and computers and ipads etc. You will be attacked in various ways including your health. Pray and persevere and you'll beat it all. Perseverence of some issues may relate to sins carried yet forgotten...pray hard.0 Ave Maria

Excellent? Interviewers are all over the map with their questions. They're interviewing an exorcist, and so you think they would ask: how does the exorcist prepare for an exorcism? What are effective tools in an exorcism? Failed to ask the priest basic questions about his exorcism experiences. Ones that went well. Ones that didn't. How did the priest become a more proficient exorcist? Does he use Latin? Agreed: Father John, interesting and smart. The interviewers: far from skilled in the art of conducting an interview. Did they prepare for this interview? Or just show up and start asking random questions?

@@douglasfaulkner2586 Hey Doug! Thanks for the feedback. Of course having a conversation vs a strict Q&A format can sometimes lead to missed questions/opportunities. We strive to do better with each interview we do and are thankful for constructive criticism. That being said, and no offense here, sometimes questions one may find interesting or important, we do not. Or it may be the case we felt they were answered. Fr. John was quite thorough (from his training to numerous case examples). He also had a story he could not share publicly regarding an exorcism that didn't go well. We respect those wishes, and he had freedom to share what he was comfortable with. It sounds like you're seeking more of a step-by-step guide to an exorcist's preparation, and what a priest does during such an event, which this episode was not about. The theme was what families/individuals could do if confronted with such a situation. While the convo entails many other details, we weren't locked onto your above line of questioning, obviously. If you're interested in more minute details of exorcist preparation and/or the rite itself, you may try Googling the many other exorcist interviews online, or reading a book of such details (there are several).

There was a “crazy” guy who lived beneath me in Manhattan. He’d get ideas that certain people in the building were placing curses on him and he’d pound on your door, stick notes under your door daring you to come out and “fight him like a man” in the street. Other times, he’d be very pleasant and mannerly. I knew he was from Brazil and worked as a drummer in different clubs. One day my next door neighbor told me he’d spent over an hour kicking the wall next to my door while I’d been at work. I found his note challenging me to fight. Now, he was a large man, muscular, maybe 25ish. I’m female, was in my late 40’s, on the petite size. He knew what I looked like, so coming out to fight him like a man was ridiculous. Maybe I was crazy, but I went to his door with the note, and decided to confront him. He’d really messed up the wall and I didn’t want to be blamed for the damage. He replied that he as sorry, but he had not kicked anyone’s wall and hadn’t written the note. He seemed all mild-mannered, very polite, but when he opened his door to slip back inside, I saw he had on the wall a gruesome mask of a goat with its tongue out and on the telephone stand beneath it, a statue of a stooped over man. It creeped me out. Later that night after he left for work, I slid a Miraculous Medal, a St. Benedict Medal, both blessed, under the door jamb. I also sprinkled Holy Water on his door, prayed a decade of the Rosary and Prayer to St. Michael before returning to my apartment. A week later from that Saturday, I came downstairs and discovered the landlord directing movers or junk haulers, take your pick, supervising his stuff leaving the apartment. He told me he’d received word from the man’s mother that he was in the hospital after an overdose and that she was having him move back home to enter rehab in Miami. She’d wired the money for back rent, damages, and the movers and cleaners. This also kind of flipped me out. The landlord asked me about the wall beside my door, if he’d done it. I told him to ask the lady next door to me, but most likely, he was the guilty party. I asked whether he’d seen the creepy mask, but the landlord hadn’t payed attention. He was just annoyed at having to spend his Saturday taking care of the apartment cleaned and rented on so little notice. I never mentioned the blessed medals or Holy Water because I knew the landlord was disdainful of religion in general and of Catholicism in particular. He liked me for paying the rent on time and for keeping my place neat and tidy, so no sense in getting him riled up.

@@angelanetherton8240 Angela, Its really too bad you and your family are suffering through this. I know from personal experience how terrifying this is. I spent years being terrified of this very kind of thing your discribing ! Yes, ...you can as a Baptist get holy water. Go to any Catholic church and ask them. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to give you some don't be afraid to ask. As Catholics this is what we're here to do ! While your there ask the priest to pray for you . Their prayers are powerful and will provide you with peace and wisdom while your going through this battle. If you continue to have these problems call the priest to come and bless your house. Again, they're more than happy to help people struggling through these very things. Whatever you do, "DON'T," and I mean "DON'T" try and have a seiance or use a quoija board ! These entities are taunting you and your family to give them an open door so to speak to let them into your lives.( As christians we don't have to ! !) If you use those things you'll open doors you wont be able to close. I can tell you that you can, through the Lords and the Catholic churches help get beyond this thing. I'm living proof ! Msg me if you need help..... GOD BLESS ! ...👍🫂🙏✝️

@@angelanetherton8240 P.S. Angela , Iv never heard of a Christian bookstore carrying Holy Water. It's not my recommendation for someone to go anywhere for it but a Catholic Church. Thats why people of all faiths go to a CATHOLIC church to get these holy things. They're blessed by a Catholic priest for this particular issue. And they won't charge you a thing. They'll pray for you and your family as well . And that you just can't buy ! ...🤷👍✝️

This was amazing, as a lapsed Catholic due to bad things happening around me growing up, I truly do believe that the devil walks amongst us…though lapsed if I am visiting a city I always go and bless my self in a Catholic Church…but holy water and salt is an excellent second.

Really enjoyed this interview. For all the problems which every institution has the Catholic Church was the first Christian church on the planet technically and there’s some thing about good Catholic priests - they seem like scholars and incredibly educated in the deep roots of Christian tradition. When I hear somebody like an evangelical preacher - they don’t generally give me a sense of peace like this priest does. This is probably why high-level masons take an anti-Catholic pledge. If this original church goes away Christianity just gets diluted into a variety of different things.
@rihardsmitrevics3 жыл бұрын
Catholics are the oldest and the original church. They have tradition(books from apostoles and saints) and scripture(Bible, the main thing from Jesus and Jews), modern Protestants only have scripture thats why they are not as appealing. To have appeal the church has to have culture not only borders commanded by God. If your group is not uniqe in any way why just not surrender and become a part of the confused grey mix that America is today?

Good priests are definitely a rock. Thank you for appreciating what's good about the Catholic Church and the richness of it. I came back this past year as an adult and am astounded to learn about the heritage and the really deep spiritual and theological answers that we weren't taught those kids and that is sadly not taught to the adult laity so much these days either. When it comes to problems that the church has developed in the past almost 100 years, one thing that a lot of people don't realize is that the church was deliberately infiltrated by Communists and radicals and the orientation of men who were going to cause the sex scandals in previous decades, which was done on the order of the Kremlin from the 1930s through the 50's until certain things became a self perpetuating culture in the seminaries. It was Satan's greatest assault on the Church. When you think about it, what Church is the most attacked and criticized? The one Satan hates the most.

The devil hates the Catholic Church because it is the Church which Christ Himself instituted. He will try everything to break it up and the clergy is attacked all the time. Jesus promised us « .......the gates of hell will NEVER prevail over it ( HIS church) . «

Wow! This was the most impressive person of faith I have ever seen so far. You can feel his love for God through the screen. He feels very solid. His understanding reflected in his way of explaining and simplifying things. He is awesome. He put so much into perspective for me and confirmed so many things I've felt coming. He hit them right on, and it feels good to know that I sensed these things and they turned out to be true. Now I can go forward with the confidence behind it that will make all the difference, thank you!!!!

This is true. Approximately twenty years ago, I and my two young daughters had the chance to visit for weekends over the course of three years, the actual house in New Rochelle, NY where St. Elizabeth Ann Seton lived with her uncle and aunt and cousins. The house, to this day, remains a private residence. Well, when I stayed the woman always offered me the room where Elizabeth Bayley (Seton) most likely slept as a child from the age of eight to fourteen. The woman was a former Catholic NY Puerto Rican who married her boss who was a Greek orthodox pathologist. On one visit, my older daughter dragged me up to my St. Elizabeth Room to show me that in the dresser there were old, ashy used joints and under the bed were used condoms. It THOROUGHLY sickened me. i brought it to the attention of the woman who apologized and said her husband's brother was attending law school in Manhattan and had been staying with them. Six months later, I returned and the brother in law was also there. However, he had been sleeping on the couch in the living room because during a snow storm, the roof above the room he had formerly defiled collapsed under the weight of the snow. Ironically, in St. Elizabeth Seton's "Remembrances' she wrote "I found God in a blade of grass in New Rochelle when I was ten years of age". Elizabeth Seton had a name for the devil. She called him "Sam". Since I was born in an Elizabeth Seton hospital, placed in her orphanage in NY until the age of three and educated by her Sisters of Charity of NY until the age of eighteen, she, the Saint, has ALWAYS been with me. Closeness to a Saint also means that you easily recognize the devil and will usually be fighting him throughout life............The best part of this story for me was the hilarity of how the 'sinful' brother in law was so petrified by the roof caving in that he never returned to that room again............

This is a Great conversation and this Priest seems like a very intelligent and gentle Man. My Grandfather died when I was 14 years old and I missed him terribly as he was always very kind to me and had a great sense of humor. When my little Sister had her 1st child my Grandfather returned in Spirit and protected my Nephew from his dad who was an emotionally abusive asshole. None of us knew what was going on really until my Sister asked my Nephew who he was talking to and playing with in the back yard and he replied JOHN. When asked for a description of JOHN, my Nephew described our Grandfather perfectly, a Man he had never laid eyes on much less known. One of the points this Priest touched on which I believe people don’t realize is the Spirit world is all around us at all times and the warring between good and evil never stops. This Priest is so well educated and it’s a shame most people who work in Churches these days don’t seem to be. I’m an old time Conservative Lutheran and was educated by Benedictine Nuns and attended Mass every Friday at school even though I wasn’t required to as a non Catholic. The reason I went was because one Nun who taught Psychology and Humanities was so kind and never talked down to the non Catholic kids or differentiated between different religious beliefs among students. As Christians I believe we must all Honor each other’s chosen Religious practices and stand together as The Family Of God. I believe there are benefits to be had from each and every sect of Christianity and we are fools not to accept what each denomination has to offer. It’s my Prayer that God Bless this Man in his work and each and every one of us.

The demonic hour part, mine was around 2am onwards before 4am. This was because someone was using black magic to subdue colleagues. We all had some "visitation", strange things happened, pain lots of body pain. Eventually I asked many people to pray for us, it goes on and off but whenever we feel he went to visit these mediums for help, it starts all over. We are still trying to fight it. What amazes me he gets away with it. I hope God avenge us for all the damage done.
