I always know when Mark enjoys something, and it is definitely rare when he doesn't, yet he is polite and respectful. I always worry about him since he ate that spoiled meat, but he has traveled around the world and knows what he is doing. He is one of the kindest and most positive inspiring people on KZbin. He is a blessing to watch and I hope he is able to continue for a long time to come, no one is like him.

I don't know where you'rrle from but I'm Filipino and even I know that there are street vendors out there who are too lazy to clean their isaw (grilled intestine). Selling unsanitary food is not only disrespectful and lazy but it is also illegal.

I think he just goes to well known places that generally have good food. Especially in Thailand, he goes to popular and well regarded places. I don't think he is bieng fake. Its probably a good policy to only review good places. You don't make enemies. And you get to enjoy the food. Most people watch mark to live vicariously. Not necessarily to find a hidden gem or an unknown place that has amazing food.

Also I respect mark a lot. Even if he doesn’t like the food he try’s hard to still be respectful about it and if he does spit the food out he does it off camera. Unlike a lot of other food reviewers how they spit out the food and make alot of unnecessary noises. From watching a couple of comments from his videos many expect him to be a hard food critic and fail to recognize hes not, hes a food observer. People cant stand that and say hes "fake" because hes "too positive", they rant that his content is "trash" because he dosent go off Gordon Ramsay style like some Foodtubers. He wont pull a Bourdain and give critical opinion. There are probably thousands of "influencers" that get the job done. The fact is Mark"s channel's an observational channel on food rather than a critical one. if you want basic exploration of cultures around the world and their cuisine, The Mark Wiens channel is for you, if you want objective food criticism, Mark Wiens isnt for you. a quality honest food criticism channel i suggest is Daym Drops.

Well I did not like him at first, because a friend introduced his channel to me as a food critic, so that's what I expected to get and he's definitely not a food critic. But it was simply due to a false expectation based on a false channel description by my friend. Once I realized this is not a food critic channel, I started to enjoy his videos. He only fucked up when he was in Munich and ate a white saussage with the casing. That was really painful to watch as a Bavarian.

Food should rarely be wasted such as being frozen and unprep or just spoiled or unseasoned or too much seasoned or salty or fatty. Every pallet is different and cultural shock is real. Not everything prepped is edible. Some reviewers on youtube will purposely go to known 1/5 star restaurants just to give them a 4/5 to be "different" or go to 4/5 restaurants to give 2/5 for clout. You will see few genuine reviewers like Mark. He isnt on youtube for clout. He is humble and give honest reviews.

I don't know why, I just find Mark Wiens to be unauthentic and his reactions to be so over the top like some sort of hype beast Twitch streamer from 2017.
