Join me for a very rarely seen Songkran 2023 festival in a small Thailand village. Not the same Khao San Road, Silom or Pattaya Songkran festival that is loaded with 90% tourists. This is a unique view of how Songkran is celebrated in a small Thai town, local style. Today I take you to Khok Mo, about 4 hours northwest of Bangkok, Thailand to witness this yearly water festival in a way very few foreigners ever get to see. Starting with a traditional Sonkgran ceremony at the Wat Khok Mo temple where the elders will have water poured on them as a sign of respect from younger people. There will be plenty of water fights, both stationary, and while in moving vehicles. Next, I jump into the back of a pick up truck and move the party to the first house along the route. It's a wild mobile Sonkgran celebration as I take you to several houses in this small village to eat food, splash water and observe the monks, and others, partake in this anual water festival. Such an amazing event, very few foreigners get to experience Songkran at this local level. I'm thrilled to share this small village celebration of Sonkgran 2023.

For 3 days, the streets of Bangkok and every part of Thailand has been transformed into a water war battleground. People of all races, genders, religions, ages, join this war with smiles and laughs. We Thai people are glad that Songkran in Thailand brings happiness to everyone. We promise next year we will do better for all lovely visitors. As a Thai person, I would like to thank all KZbinrs who publish this video clip to the world.

As a villager from a remote rural, Songkran was a significant festival for all ages of villagers. It is a family day and everyone will reunite to pay respect and get merit from the elders. Seeing this reminds me of my childhood day. It's pretty nostalgic

Wow, that's really great Songkran fun. Rural areas are the areas where this tradition is best woven. One thing that Thailand and the United States have in common is that it is a pot that unites many different ethnic groups in the country. But if you want to know what ancient Thai people looked like. People in Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Uthai Thani, Sing Buri, Suphanburi Overall, it is the central part of the country. Former Thai people who are really Thai will have a tall body, similar to people in South Asia, their skin color will be dark. The easiest way when you go to different regions in the country and notice the Buddha statues carved from ancient times is the shape and face of people from different regions. Yes, it is that way.
@arrukkikrina2755
@arrukkikrina2755 Жыл бұрын
Back 40 years ago, when I was a child, we were taught to drink a lot of milk to have a tall body. When the Japanese invaded Thailand, the Japanese were very small. The Thais called the Japanese the Thai-Thai people and the Japanese did not hate each other because when the Japanese army traveled through Thailand. They did not harm the Thai people. To this day, the people of these two countries still respect each other. Okay, I'm a little out of the ordinary, back to drinking. Many of my friends drink milk and some of them drink milk like water. Many of my friends are over 180 cm tall, some are 190 cm tall, but for me I do not like drinking milk, I do not like the smell of it, so I am only 171 cm tall. But what do you know when Thai people are 180 cm tall ++ It will look ugly as they get older, they will lose some personality. Some people walk with their necks bent, some people find it difficult to use public services because all sizes in Thailand are mostly for the shape of Asians. Normally, clothes are harder to find. Especially shoes And the interesting thing is that people who drink a lot of milk to make their body height are often short-lived and tired easily, and this is a true story from my life experience. I think nature has created people to suit the terrain. It is the most complete. Another thing I want to ask you is, have you ever noticed a tall Korean or Japanese person? They have a long body but short legs. I think it's very unbalanced, so I think it's because of an era in the 30-40 years when there was a crazy milk-drinking campaign in Asia. To have a tall body like Europeans

Been to Songkran many times but, only a few times in "farang locations" (Silom, Kohsan, Chiang Mai...) - I'd MUCH rather go to a "locals" event. It's good to see someone post an experience from Songkran for what it truly means. On a side note - you definitely need a more colorful Songkran shirt!

This is the real tradition of Songkran in Thailand, it time of New Year celebration, we will go back home, go to the temple and meet our old parents and bath them or just wash their hands and feet to pay respect and let them bless us for New Year, the water war came from children and teenager playing until now many people around the word think Songkran is only water war.

Thanks for visiting the local area of Thailand. Your video is the only one I have come across that shows traditional Songkran. It definitely reminds me of my childhood. It is different from Songkran in big cities. It shows bonding of people in a community, respect for elderly, caring for one another, and simple way of living in Thailand. You truly experienced real Thailand. Subscribed!

I admire you try to access the roots of our culture. Thai people believe that water is washed away dirt. We therefore compare the water to cleanse the bad things out of life. In the new year of Thailand We prefer to clean the house with water. After not doing it for 1 full year And when everyone in the family wet Therefore splashing water together And ask for blessings from parents and adults in the family That is a wonderful blessing for life. Including making merit in the temple as well Thai temples will clean the Buddha image on the New Year as well. The origin of Songkran Thailand It is good that you come to experience the Songkran in the countryside, it's simple, beautiful and not crowded. Happy Thai New Year ❤🙏
