Welcome back to another Reptile Expo Video! Be sure to answer Adam from Wicken's Wicked Reptiles' Question of the day! Thank you to all my viewers/supporters who stopped by to say hello, and congrats to everyone on their new beloved pets! Lastly, I would like to clarify that the sickness with my frogs is not chytrid! It's all very concerning, but we will get to the bottom of the issue! Thank you so much to those who purchased an animal from me at the expo! As always, a big thank you to my Reptiliatus patrons for their additional support www.patreon.com/Reptiliatus !

QOTD: A little different for me, as I'm in the States. But I volunteer with USARK at the USARK booth at NARBC shows, and have my own USARK table at a local show in Michigan, and my favorite thing to do at expos is to engage with people about reptiles and USARK. Making people aware and updated on any alerts. Being able to raise money foe USARK through donations and merch sales. And we usually have an auction item to try and garner some money for USARK as well.

I am an educator at the Oregon reptile expos and my favorite thing is meeting new vendors as well as first-time expo goers. Getting a snake-phobic person to hold a snake is always cool but seeing a child's eyes light up is even better :)

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss :( But wow, that expo looks amazing! I'm going to a small reptile event next weekend which I can't wait for, but so wish we could have expos of that kind of size and with so much variety here in Korea (Korean expos are 80% cresties). Great video, keep up the great work!

So sorry to hear :( one thought that came to me was regarding soil/plant healt? Might be mistaken but some plants looked a little bit sad? Perhaps not, but just a thought if something was off with the soil/moisture levels it might affect the frogs? I’m no expert on those plants though & I know you know a lot about plants, but just a thought! Hope you find the cause & best of luck!!

Did you quarantine your new frog before putting her in with the males ?
@Reptiliatus Жыл бұрын
This frog came from Mark Pepper of Understory Enterprises. While I would generally quarantine most animals I bring to my home (as you have hopefully seen in most of my other content), I did not do that for this particular animal as I trust Mark and know she is healthy and captive bread with the best care. I am more concerned about her well-being going in with the males despite the fact they have been consistently healthy for 3/4 of a year. I agree that, as a general practice, all new animals should be quarantined, so I appreciate you sharing that question!

Quick question. Why buy leaves instead of just gathering them from your yard?
@danasmith8557 Жыл бұрын
I get them from my yard and boil them
@lindsayschmidt2177 Жыл бұрын
If you get them from your yard you have to disinfect them by either boiling them or baking them in the oven because they could have microfauna on them that are harmful to your pets.
@samisamara4600 Жыл бұрын
Because they could have mites

I must admit that hurts me to see so many poor reptiles constricted in such a tight space and bright lights.. cannot imagine how stressful it is for hundreds of animals to be like that for so many hours. Surely there must be a way where everybody wins
@shamrock6008 Жыл бұрын
In fairness, the sun produces way more visible light, uvb etc than some flourescents in a building. I get what you're saying, about the tight spots. It's like any expo, gotta show off the wares, and not everyone is going to travel to say port credit pets for a reptile if they live west of the GTA.
