I've been playing guitar since I was about 10 years old. I just turned 46 today. I can say that I have what I call a Discerning Ear for good music and good musicians. And jerry reed is world class top of the heap

Jerry Reed was a guitar master , great singer, actor and entertainer. What an amazing talent he was. Jerry managed to impress the great Chet Atkins enough that he performed and recorded many albums of Jerry's songs. Jerry also inspired many of todays modern great guitar players. The world was a much better place with him in it. R.I.P Jerry. You will always be one of the greatest ever !!

Complex picking and all that moving bass and melody work on the left hand. Just beautiful. To be able to play it would be a great achievement but to sing over it like Jerry did, quite remarkable.

Guitar player for 50 something years and to me this is simply exquisite.......the guitar work and the singing. Took me hours and many repetitions to get fairly close, but now I want to buy a nylon stringed if just for this one song! Mr. Reed was a genius. I heard it somewhere that when he was young he told people he would be famous

I've often thought that if I knew I was going to die in 4 minutes and I only had time to hear one last song, this is the song I would choose. Jerry Reed is the greatest to ever touch a guitar. On top of that, he could have had a successful career as just a singer. He was the whole package.

I've been thinking back a lot lately about Glen Campbell and Jerry Reed, those were great times back in the 70s. Does anybody know if this clip was from when Jerry was on the Glen Campbell Goodtime show? I'm trying to figure out if this would have been around the early to mid 70s, since Jerry was in Smokey and the Bandit in the late 70s. He looks younger here, but maybe not.
