I remember being a stagehand and being in awe of rascall Flatts bass players bass rig..one big roadcase with a 8x10 cab 2 bass heads (one for backup) and within the same case 3 or 4 basses

Dave was the lead guitarist in my band in 1988-89. He's such a good guy, and I'd love to check in with him again. He's the only one of us who really made it in the music industry, and he sure found a unique path for himself. He was building masterpiece guitars back then, and repairing complete wreckage into instruments that looked and played like they were new. I miss ya Dave! (The Donster Monster)

(From 11 years ago) David Graef was the lead guitarist in my band 1988-89. He absolutely is the greatest guy in the world. I'm so glad one of us made it in the music biz, and he's they guy who deserved it most. If you ever see him again, tell him the Donster Monster says hi, and I'd love to catch up!

Ubers/ Exxstacys/ and Marshalls through 3 different sets of Cabs? 😮 Crazy what needed to be done in 2009 for fabulous tone! Nowadays you can run an Axe fx or Helix direct and capture SUCH a close set of tones. God bless tube amps but wow it musta been a project back then each night

@jordandcarson For all intents and purposes, an RG-16 is like having a GCX and Mini Amp Gizmo in one box (except better :) ) You can switch between two amps and channel switch them with either an RG-16 or Mini Amp Gizmo / GCX together.

@jakebooking13 Remember, these guys usually walk all over the stage and out to the iddle of the audience during a lot of their performances so switching between pedals or changing the modulation/effects depth from song to song. The tech may be responsible for the other backup band musicians effects as well.

@jakebooking13 Most big name musicians have intricate setups - you would be doing your concert goers an injustice if your rig fucked up and you had to figure out what was busted in the middle of a performance. Also, the tech will generally be able to work with vendors concerning the newest technologies and products such as switchers and power distribution.

kinda seems lazy and way too rock star to have your tech do ALL your patching and switching. It seems like that the equivalent to singing to a vocal track
