My boyfriend came home late one night after bowling. He came home so excited bouncing up and down. And with much curiosity I asked what had him so excited. He quickly pulled out this CD, popped it in the player and exclaimed he had found our song! It was true we both had broken roads that led us to each other. We had both been married before and hurt by others. I couldn't agree with him more. We were married a few months later, we had the most beautiful wedding. Just six months after our wedding he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. I was with him every step of the way, I went to every chemo therapy , every surgery and every doctors appointment. And after it had spread to his brain and he began to have seizures I took a leave of absence from work to be with him. And then some four and a half years later I watched him step into eternity. He was such a trooper and never complained not even once, he handled the cancer and his eventual death with such grace. The Lord knew that I needed him and he needed me and I do believe this song more than fits us. I just love this song. He's been gone for eight years now and this song still brings a smile to my face.

You know as a Youth Pastor, when i read the lyrics and listen i see Jesus on every line. I don't know if that was the intent but it appears there is a greater depth to this song than we may see on the surface. Thank you!

I've had ovarian cancer for 5 yes. & my partner had a heart attack 6 mths. ago we've been together for almost 26 years were both still here pushing thru which I believe has happened cause of our love & gratefulness for each other. And for our faith in Jesus. The Broken Road song has bought me so much comfort & peace with its beautiful lyrics.. Thank U Rascal Flatts for your amazing music.

This song hit really close to my heart. My only son died at the age of 22. Him and his girlfriend had been dating ever since they were in 8th grade. They graduated together and went on trips with both families and he and she could walk into each other's house's without having to knock on the door. He had torn his rotator cuff and he was still in some serious pain and he got mixed up with some bad people who didn't care about others as long as they got their money through selling pills and other meds. My son's mom had already set up surgery for him in a few months to repair his cuff. His girlfriend got pregnant and they were looking forward to having a child together and they knew they were young, but would have plenty of help from each other's families. The baby was born and it was a baby girl and she was a doll baby. One night they were going to have dinner with his Mom and he loved his mom's cooking. By this time my granddaughter was 3 months old and they had moved into a nice house and both were working and she was going to college to become a hairdresser. Before they began to eat my son went up stairs to the bathroom and was gone for a while and his mom was wondering why he wasn't back by now, so she went upstairs and knocked on the door but she didn't get an answer back so she called her husband and he kicked in the door. There laid my son face up and not breathing. The rescue squad was called as his mom and her husband was doing CPR. No heart beat and by the time the rescue squad got there it was to late he was dead. They found out he died from a overdose of fentanyl that he had gotten from these people he should not have been missing with. Now there baby had to grow up not knowing her father and it kills me every time i look at her beautiful Blue eyes and blonde hair. It's been 23 years now and i miss him and i hope i get to see him again. This song was one of their favorite songs..

My nana loves this song so much. 9 years ago she died form stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. She stopped treatment a month before she had died. I never knew she had related so much to this song . She would hold me close even while she was dying. She fought so hard for us but she in a better place. This song chokes me up every time because this song played at her viewing. I sang it crying on her dead body holding her white jacket. I was blessed to have that woman in my life. So many of his songs bring me to tears because of him. I have spent over 30 years trying to find a woman to spend my life with and I swear its not as easy as people think it is when you have a heart of Gold. Women always say good men don't exist if that were true I wouldn't be sitting here with the heart my mother spent most of her life trying to raise me with. I wish for just one moment women would realize its not as easy for us men who want to find happiness to have to be judged for the actions of other men....I am a one woman man for life and even if i have to spend the rest of my life to find true Love I will Life can try all it wants to send storms my way.....As Garth brooks once said in one of his songs.....With the good lord as my captain I will make it though them all.

I have been a country fan since the Garth Brooks days...uhm... I love this band and I always have and this guy is one of the best singers in history and he doesn't get credit for it. Pay attention to the details when it comes to his voice when he hits 15 notes in 5 seconds. Up up down down left right left right b a start. Also his vibrato is.... Well I'll just say it leaves me speechless

The first time I heard this song, I thought I was so in love with a man that did nothing but hurt my heart and soul. Now I know that this song is really about my faith. Me and God have been walking a path together all my life. I'm embarrassed to think at the times I forgot HE was with me. He held me during my painful moments in life and cheered me on during my happy times... He's never left me. And now that I'm a little older and wiser, I never want to take my faith for granted.

The songwriters said this Bless the Broken Road song was pitched to Reba, Faith Hill and Collin Raye to record but they ignored it. Rascal Flatts liked the song but didn't record it for their album Melt stating their Melt album had enough ballads. Finally in 2004 they recorded it for their album Feels Like Today and it becomes their signature song.

Lyrics I set out on a narrow way many years ago Hoping I would find true love along the broken road But I got lost a time or two Wiped my brow and kept pushing through I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you That every long lost dream lead me to where you are Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Yes it did I think about the years I spent just passing through I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you But you just smile and take my hand You've been there you understand It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true Every long lost dream led me to where you are And others who broke my heart they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know it's true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Yeah And now I'm rolling home Into my lover's arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you That God blessed the broken road Ooh, ooh That led me straight to you

My ex-husband dedicated this to me when we were still dating and this song has always been so special until he had his bad relapsed and wasn’t able to come back anymore. Listening to this song brings some bittersweet memories but I would always be grateful for all the 7 years that we shared together.❤😭

I just want to say thank you for recording this song. It was the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding. I waited 50 years to find my perfect man and I went down many broken roads to get to him so this song means a great deal to me. We recently learned my husband is in stage 4 of COPD and this illness will eventually take his life so I cherish every day with him. We may have 1 year we may have 3 or even more but every time I hear this song it takes me back to our wedding day 9/7/2013 and I will always be grateful for you for recording it and singing it.

This song was playing on my radio after I just picked up my boyfriend in Lexington Ky. I didn't know he was going to ask me to marry him that day. But when that song was playing he ask me how I liked that song? I told him I really liked it, and I ask him if he liked it and he said yes I do. So later that day we were at my home in Pikeville Ky. and he told me will we got our song now all is left is you say yes so he got down on one knee and ask me to marry him. We are a good friend of mind to sing that song at our wedding and everyone their loved it, it was simply but very nice at the same time. And now after each year we play this song all day and it ever gets old. Nearly 5 years of marriage and we are more in love than ever. So thanks Rascal Flatts for this amazing song. And I hope one day that you guys will come to a concern near us so you can sing this song for us. so again thanks so much.

This is one of the most meaningful RF songs. I just randomly started singing the chorus of it this morning during devotions, and it led me to this video from 10 yrs ago. Ironically, my 2nd husband & I will be married 10 yrs in May and I couldn't be happier! God certainly did Bless the Broken Road (and it WAS broken) that led me straight to him. I'm going to listen to this to celebrate with him on May 1! Thank you for this song and its meaning to me after all these years.

I had a long life of drug addiction. So many wrong decisions. So many broken roads.I dedicated this song a time or two to what turned out to be failed relationships. I listened to it today for the first time in sum years. And with my new ears I know now that this song could only be truly dedicated to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My broken past led me straight into His loving arms. And I'll never leave.

The broken road lead it back to the love of my life that I gave up on and now we find our selves back together some 12 years later. I truly regret the years I've lost with the one woman who's truly loved me more than herself. God gave me a second chance and I won't make the same mistake twice.

I set out on a narrow way many years ago Hoping I would find true love along the broken road But I got lost a time or two Wiped my brow and kept pushing through I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you That every long lost dream lead me to where you are Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Yes it did I think about the years I spent just passing through I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you But you just smile and take my hand You've been there you understand It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true Every long lost dream led me to where you are And others who broke my heart they were like northern stars Pointing me on my way into your loving arms This much I know it's true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you Yeah And now I'm just rolling home Into my lover's arms This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road That led me straight to you That God blessed the broken road Ooh, ooh That led me straight to you
