i lost my ex of 10 years, even tho this is a break up song, it makes me think of her. we broke up, but always were connected by our daughter who we both dearly love. she use to wake up and cry, and said the thought of me dying haunts her. years later, we would part ways, but we always held a special place in each others hearts. we use to talk and have this relationship that no one understood but us two, the grief that haunts me is that her and i didn’t work it out. as deep down we both know; we both wanted it to work: pride and past actions made us both feel we couldn’t move on. now i would give any thing just to tell her what she means to me. the last year of her life she use to say, this life is short, i can die any day, please be nice to me. i kick my self for not being with her, or being the last one to love her, or hold her little hands. now i wake up crying and the reality of her death haunts me. she always asked me to protect my daughter with my life, and i will keep my word with her until my life is over.

I listened to this song every day after my ex did me wrong. I just KNEW it would be relevant some day. Sure enough... his life is crap and his sister told me how he felt about everything. My ex and I over a year would sit in my room last year listening to this song. I cried over how sad this song was and he hugged me telling me he would never put me through this. This would never happen. Well let me tell you something, he ended up cheating on me. And this is when you realize not everyone stays true to their word. And of course we had our own problems and I'm over it and have a new boyfriend that treats me better than he ever did. But this isn't about me. I want you all to know that it does get better. And the crazy thing about a breakup is thinking about all the good things about your ex when the relationship was total crap. Don't let them upset you. Get out there and meet new people! Man this song hits home for lots of us. I was in this situation too and after trying to fight for someone who don’t care much for you it’s better to just let it go. Easier said than done but it does get better. Trust me on this the way she treated me and I still would have dropped everything with her just looking my way but I just can’t do it anymore. Being left in a different state and in a hotel until I was able to fly back home killed me.
