I am attempting to learn rasqueado from your tutorial...my question is, is it more difficult to learn rasqueado strumming on a steel string guitar? I have a classical, but I play a steel string dreadnought most of the time...is it going to tear apart my right hand nails playing rasqueado on steel strings?
@ThePrimordialBeing
@ThePrimordialBeing 8 жыл бұрын
+Oscar Washburn Steel strings are not good for rasgueados, reason would be, that they have long sustain which is not desired. Sounds mash up and cutting percussive sound is not possible to achieve (maybe with muting, or on electric guitar with electronic sound alterations.. I don't know..). Other than that, nails will suffer a great deal, unless you glue some extremely hard material instead of artificial nails which is a common practice of flamenco players. (Maybe a nail polish enriched with titanium particles?)
@SpanishGuitarSchool
@SpanishGuitarSchool 8 жыл бұрын
Yes. True. The metal strings create too much uncontrolled harmonics, and playing "forte" would produce so much frequencies, that the needed accented bass melody - disappears completely. It is a bit more difficult to perform, because of the behavior of the strings when tensed to proper tension. But the real problem is the sound and processing. The electric guitar is primarily a melodic (opposed to harmonic) instrument, and it's sound usually gets heavily processed. That's why it is often a problem superimposing just three notes, (two is fine, but third note already creates a chaos of frequencies), when you use some guitar processor and it's sounds. So, you'd have to set some clean sound to begin with, but that extra portion of kinetic energy that produces great sounding "rasqueo" with the body of the guitar, has no where to go, and it just disperses with no effect at all...

This is confusing-why does it all ends unfinished? Seems to me that the more correct title would be -part of lesson free.

Have U got the suggestion on "how to solve that issue", perhaps...? It is not that it never ends, IT DOESN'T EVEN START, because I just name and mention all the rasqueado techniques at the beginning...? Do you suggest THAT I DON'T EVEN MENTION IT, BETTER...?!?

Is it so hard to understand that this is an advertising movie for my website..? The website is the most powerful and the most COMPLETE LEARNING PLATFORM, with software, and sample players, PDF files, and other stuff as well. AND THE TUTORIALS ARE JUST ONE SEGMENT OF THE ENTIRE PLATFORM FOR MASTERING THE SPANISH GUITAR...!

Hi, Thanks for taking your time with answering to me. Clearly-it was hard enough for me to understand that your video is basically a promotion of your websites rather then a lessons in itself. Which is just fine if that is made clear so I know what Im going into when I choose which video do I spend my time with. It sounds like you have have put a lot of work into your websites and you would like people to join in. However, I was really just searching for for a particular topic between many videos out there and yours looked promising. But comparing the title with the content I feel a bit fooled. Its more of a -teaser- then a -free lesson in my opinion.

I did not mean to suggest anything really, I was just asking whats the meaning of a guitar lesson ending in the middle of a sentence. But thanks for being interested in what I would suggest. I have two different ideas that would make me as a ‘customer’ enjoy your work more. 1) Keep the video as it is but make it clear in the title. ‘Rasqueado Abanico examples’ or so. Or 2) Introduce the Abanico styles just as you do at the beginning and then give a full lesson on one of them (and maybe just short samples of the rest of them just as it is done in the this video). That way it is s free lesson and it still shows what more is there to get on your websites. Thanks for your interest Filip

Thank you for being so kind... :) When you yourself have to produce a bunch of video material all at once, edit and cut it, after recording, writing the script and playing the part, there is so much pressure, that often you just can't get up and refresh, however you might need it. And once you hit the record button, there's no stopping however dry your mouth might feel, and there is also nobody around to pass you that glass of water. The new stuff I am making now I can do much more "tranquilo", with much less pressure, and no deadlines, so it won't happen again. Come to the Live Chat please, I have a gift 4 U... spanishguitarschool.com/contact/
