i bought some veggy chunks when i was inna jamaica last november, just seen this video tonight and i cooked some with onion gravy and scotch bonnet, IT WAS FANTASTIC!!! if i didnt know it was veggy chunks i would swear it tastes like and texture like liver and onions!! very suprised and pleased

We used these a lot when we lived in St Lucia. Our boys called it "inflatable meat" because it so readily soaks up the liquid. Great stuff!

Sorry it’s not just Jamaican as far as I know every Caribbean Island ( I get offended when ppl say Jamaican as it’s the only Caribbean island). I know you might say Jamaican because you are there . Personally I feel it was wash because in those days the rice was not as processed and it was mostly white rice which has a lot of starch and little particles in it. I remember as a child we had to picked them out first before our mom washed it

I am in Jamaica for a week and almost every restaurant is meat especially chicken. I have been eating mainly vegetarian, but more vegan. This video reminded me I can use vege chunks. I am going to the market in St Ann’s bay now to buy some vegetables and pick up some chunks at the grocery store.
