I rate Jordan very close to SFM and above Manie with 2027 in mind. Finally Cameron gets his chance. What are the odds for Eben and Rassie both getting awarded? Both deserved it last year.

Gat in gatland may refer to gate or goat, land is place, etc. Then Gatland can refer to soneone living by the gate of a piece of land, I assume like some watchman😅 or on a land with/or where goats live. Proberly from old english. I can be way wrong if it was dutch or afrikaans and it refers to the rear-end or "godverlate wêreld".

The two players I would like to see back in the squad: Edwill van der Merwe and Evan Roos. The question is, at whose expense? Mapimpi would probably have to make way for Edwill, but he has been in great form. Tough decision, but Edwill is arguably stronger, better defensively and equally as fast, even compared to Arendse. With Wiese’s current form and Hanekom’s arrival, Evan’s only chance would now be at openside flank, perhaps in place of Marco. Like Andre, Roos has been showing his individual dominance and aggression his entire playing career, and has been given the freedom at the Stormers to so. He just has to learn how to use his natural talent while being a team player who follows the system.
@megafoonsport2 күн бұрын
That last sentence seems to be the key aspect for Roos
@jacobcoetzee38492 күн бұрын
@ He has played 6, 7 and 8 for the Stormers. In his own words: “There is always room to improve but it has been great playing all three positions as it broadens my expertise. No 6 and No 8 are quite similar, there’s not too much difference and I am able to play the same kind of role there, but blindside flank is very different,”
@sportrocdoc22372 күн бұрын
Andre is a good player and is the only realistic replacement for Damian. You are talking about details, like where he sets up the ruck, so he needs more game time. I like Elrigh, but he needs more size, don't think he gives us go forward in the tackle.
@cobusbrits22 күн бұрын
Very surprised at this strong team. It was only when I saw the bench that I realized this is about wanting to inflict pain. Gatland is going to pay for his BIL theatrics. I dont believe a word when Rassie sweet talking Gats about losses and the lonely spot as losing coach. This is going to be a massacre in the vein of Bulls' 2007 win over the Reds 92 - 3. I was there and not sitting much as we had to get up cheering another try. I feel for Wales, poor sods... Rassie retired Eddie Jones, going to do the same to Gats.
@Supermezzman2 күн бұрын
Interesting take. Could be right. But as harry says Wales always tough match for Boks and it may take some time to quell them. Problems if they score early and take a lead. They have some decent players
@cobusbrits22 күн бұрын
@@Supermezzmanhard to believe Rassie would be that cautious after Aus whipped Wales that bad. I always wondered what could make established Boks still so hungry to play and not drop off. Deep down I think players know how ruthless Rassie can be which showed when he pulled Manie so early from the SF in the WC. They both love and fear Rassie in equal measure because they know he knows his craft and are not afraid to do whatever is neccessary.

Hahaha, it seems like Harry really doesn't like Esterhuizen. Sorry mate, but I'm a fan. I think he has some brilliant skills. I don't buy your comment about the flyhalf having to clean the rucks when André plays. If you saw how he was utilized at Quins you saw Marcus Smith flourish because of him. He has a lot of skills and I think he just needs more time in the saddle. Unfortunately his bans and injuries really hampered his chances, but we shouldn't forget how well he combined with Manie last year vs New Zealand and Argentina. A worthy backup for DDA. The question is, will DDA go to the next World Cup?

@@megafoonsport You guys are brilliant with replying back. I must say it is appreciated. My concern is that when does building depth reach dimishing returns and at the sacrifice of cohesion and game time for players. Depth is as much about risk management for the 2027 world cup as it is about a smooth transition of the guard post 2027. I do feel that regardless of squad depth, SA rugby will face a slump in performance post 2027. I'm thinking to far ahead now.....go Bokke!!!
