What causes a 3 beep alarm in a Hoshizaki ice machine?

I had the same ice machine call a week ago. The manager stayed with me and watched what I did. He was worried that he would have no ice on Valentine weekend. Same busted up ice guide, same blocked pump, and no ice in the bin. Of course, the same thing blocking the pump. When I started ripping things apart, the manager thought it was over and left the room. 30 minutes later he came back just as the machine was going into harvest. The look on his face was priceless. You just gotta love hard chunks of ice hitting a plastic ice guide.

Thank you so much for the video, that fixed my machine in few minutes and also save money. I need to replace Cube Tray soon as the plastic part will keep breaking and it will cause the same problem again, I'm wondering why they do not have proper strainer to catch these kind of broken parts before the pump or inside the tank itself!

They should make a stainless steel cube guides that ice harvests with some force!

I frequently have the one beep issue and every now and then it does the 3 beeps on my Hoshizak km-201bah. I had it checked out and he couldn't find anything and said it could be the control board. My machine is in the garage and sometimes the water inside the machine gets very hot and the water in the pipes in the basement doesnt get hot. It'll do this in the winter, too. I bought it new in 2018, and it started doing this about 4.5 years later. What do you think?

Hi Dave , got a ice up problem on a Km 2600 machine, I noticed on harvest the suction pressure will only get up to 74 psi , this is a air cooled machine and would expect over a 100 psi on harvest for the assist defrost , any thoughts on what could be the problem. Hoshizaki is making ice but it will not release ice from cells or evaporator. The copper lines do not get hot to release the ice. There is continuous water that eventually releases ice from evaporator. I finally got the 3 beeps. Any suggestions? I am new to the field so any feed back would help.. thanks

If it's a Hoshizaki that's less than three years old, check your evaporator plate no matter what!!! I've changed three in one week on different machines less than two years old. They're having sort of manufacturing problem

Also set your dip switches 1 and 2 to on, that also helps eliminate freeze ups!

If you can get evap plates. There’s so back ordered. Find a bad plate and get on the list.

i have been doing the warranty work for all 4 major brands of ice machines for 20 years and have never seen a bad plate on a hoshizaki that was less than 10 years old and i fix 5-7 machines a week for all 4 brands and even some of the made in china unknown brands...i have seen plates damaged on hoshizaki machines that were only a few years old due to it freezing up so bad it warped the plates out but that is not a factory defective plate.....i have seen scotsman & ice o matic plates go bad in less than 3 years but never hoshizaki

You would think that by now Hoshizaki will have an error code for a frozen evaporator. Either a temp probe on the evaporator/suction line or low water pressure safety that will make the board turn off the ice machine to avoid freeze ups.

Good vids ! I Thought that first one was going to be a r-290 with clamp on on it. You know we are going to be seeing it. Gas & go on R-290 you know it’s coming ! 😂 I Wonder if we can order stainless grids from hoshi ? There was more than 1 piece missing. Do you try to hunt all the pieces down or just flush the sump a couple times , open check valve and look in there & call it good. I like to pull the plastic grate and see if any other ones are ready to fall in and break off the ones that are loose. I Think it’s the Super cold water making the plastic brittle over time. I Think it’s Wise to Replace the Plastic Grate / Order one & throw a Freshy in there. I Wish hoshi had a Mod / screen / inline filter to Mod these units. Maybe some screen door material & rubber band on sump outlet ? Then put hose over it.
