The problem with dp isn't necessarily killing him, which is already considered impossible, but that he doesn't stay dead. He's been brutalized in every way possible. Crushed, flattened, incinerated, melted, dismembered, torn to shreds, disintigrated, vaporized, and any way brutal way to die. Even Thanos couldn't do it. And that is still without dp using the continuity stone, which is still not considered fully canon, but lets be honest, with dp constantly breaking the rules of continuity (and every other rule for that matter) what isn't considered canon for him?

What really makes this scene work is Deadpool’s humor. Humor is one of the five stages of grief. Even in his depressing circumstances, he’s still got a great sense of humor in him. It’s one of the ways he knows how to express himself when he’s suffering internally. He appears to be a badass hero and a man full of humor but underneath all of that, there’s a broken man. He lost his wife, his good looks, and his family.
