Honestly one of my favourite rat cage tours I have ever seen (and I've seen many in the 8 years since I discovered petubers) It's absolutely fantastic. You can just tell that safety and also enrichment is at the forefront of your mind when setting your cage up. It is absolutely brilliant. The colours work so well together, I'm just in awe right now. Imee's World aww you're welcome :) it is well deserved, it honestly is fantastic :) I've wanted rats for the past 8 years but have not ever been in a position where I feel like I would be financially able to care for them but hopefully in the next few years I will finally be able to and your cage will definitely be what I will be aiming for mine to be like. The foraging toys are just fantastic ideas and not something that I would have thought to look for, I will definitely be recommending them to my friend and also the ikea tie rack, it's genius! :)

You can save so much money on expensive tubes, hammocks and tunnels by making them yourself. The hammocks I make are super cute and only take half hour to sew together! I buy fleece from Poundland and b&m or buy big duvets and cut them all up! I make 6 at a time so I can just replace when needed. Rats cages don’t need expensive items. I’ve saved so much money on making my own items. Hammocks can cost anywhere from £10-£30 I made a rat tunnel out of fleece that came to around £5.

For my rat I actually used recycled paper cat litter. They can chew it and it won’t harm them, it’s very absorbent and super soft

I use daily essentials 3 for my 3 parrots. I also spy foraging toys that are on my wishlist for my Indian Ringneck. Great cage though. I prefer the largest cages myself so this one looks great.

im getting this cage for my 2 babies for christmas (there not babies now but i still call them it) and they love hammocks so im putting there old one in buying a small floor one aswell as using the 2 yellow hammocks supplied. im also thinking scatter feeding with museli cause they love it,and feeding would be easier and easier to get my hands in too,i cant wait :D

Hello. I might not be noticed but its worth a shot. I just got some 8mon old rats girls form someone who needed to rehome them. I noticed the one always stays inside the bottom hut and makes weird sneeze like noses. Her eyes and nose look clear tho. The other one will go to the top area and sleep in the open. Ive owned rats before and this seems odd to me

Mimi Foxx rats normally behave oddly when you first get them, but if it continues for a while and/ or the rar looks in pain then take it to a vet

Yes it could be that your rat is in a new environment as new smells can make them sneeze. However if this persists then I would take a look at your substrate/ environment and remove anything dusty or scented that may be an irritant. Also keep a close eye on this, as it can be a symptom of a respiratory tract infection which is very common in rats. A vet will be able to confirm by listening to the chest for any inflammation/ crackling etc. though sometimes this is audible by just listening to them breathing.

god I want to have rats so badly, but I can't quite afford a big, spacious cage and the things that come along with it, and I don't want to settle for anything less. I have to quistions my rat bit 2 people in the ears pretty hard I guess cuz he draw blood. Yes but you can make the cage a little smaller I would go on rat cage calculator on Google that will help with any cage problems and if you are getting girls then YES get them everything you can my girls are insane and play with every thing they also rip things up so keep that in mind😀

one of my rats recently got into and ate a crayola colored pencil. They're non-toxic and my vet had no concern with it, so if a whole pencil won't hurt them when eaten, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about if your rats end up chewing a piece of cardboard that was drawn on. It should be fine ;0;

I would say that they are probably not, because even if they are non-toxic to us, that doesn’t mean that it’s non-toxic to them. I wouldn’t take the chance and just keep it plain.

Hi, I'm looking at getting 2 boys soon in a cage this size but doesn't have the ability to be split/made smaller like yours (it's one big/tall compartment).. was wondering if you had any ideas on blocking off the top half of the cage while they're settling and opening it up after a couple weeks? Could I make a mesh ceiling type thing...? Have plenty of stuff to fill the gaps but like you said it would be nice to bond with them in a smaller space to start with :)
