If I remember well the “mac” isn’t irish, is scottish XD, I know that beacause they confuse my mother with a scottish beacause her surename, that wasn’t scottish, was arabic XD

"mac" is most certainly Irish. It means "son of" as Gaeilge (in the Irish language). It is common in Scotland also because many Gaels migrated to Scotland, forming the Scottish Gaelic culture and language. Later on, many Irish immigrants would also move to Scottish cities like Glasgow, further propagating the "Mac" prefix. The other common Irish surname component is "Ó" which means "descendant of". The female version of "Mac" is "Nic" (so the daughter of a Mac Domhnaill [MacDonald] would be Nic Dhomhnaill) and the female version of "Ó" would be "Ní" (so the daughter of an Ó Loingsigh would be Ní Loingsigh). Hope this clears up the confusion.
