@robsmith9612 жыл бұрын
@@canontheory I see the fourth game as kind of being in-between. It still had the feel and graphics of the old games, but it was a very different game. The first three felt like they were all really the same game but with different planets and weapons/gadgets with some improvements made with new games. I wish R+C kept going like it had been after their first four games, but understandably they evolved to what they are now. I understand it, but I do not like it (to paraphrase Clank in UYA).

@robsmith9612 жыл бұрын
Way better. I do not understand the mentality in how they approach it now. We live in a world where so many people are afraid of being offended and a great many people react by trying not to offend. Then we end up with generic music that feels like it has no real substance and all it does it blandly exist. I admit this may be a stretch, but the overall mentality we see these days gives me suspicion that maybe it leaks into things like this. Instrumental music seems like it is seldom creative anymore.

@@robsmith961 i think its more devs/people who work on games just got burnt out over increasing demand for game content over the years. publishers want more in less time + they want to cater to the lowest denominator so they dont allow full creative freedom to the designers/devs
@20000dino9 ай бұрын
@@robsmith961 Found the conservative trying to justify anything with "people being easily offended these days". Not only is that statement is incredibly ironic, considering who's constantly p*ssing themselves over absolutely nothing (and considering the marginalized people involved in the music scene that this composer was inspired by), it also has nothing to do with the matter at hand. This all boils down to money (ironically so, considering what the original game was all about). We're in the age of remakes and remasters which care more about profits than to understand the artistic appeal of the original product. They settle with the most stale, mainstream direction possible because they know it will sell. It's not about people being "easily offended", it's about more exposure to the same thing they're used to. Take Pokémon Shining Diamond and Pearl as another one out of dozens of examples.
