Aggro from lowered health is called blood aggro. It's normally a typical aggro from undead from ff11 but seldom used in ff14

The palace rage death is always a bummer. It's unfortunately a semi-common interaction between the rage knockback and enemies regenerating health. So what happened was that when you stepped on the landmine there enemies health dropped 80% of its current value but then started its out of combat regen as you smacked it. The server snapshotted the health being removed as what it was when you queued up the attack but the regen allowed it to have the single regen tic of health left =( same thing can happen with enemies like the midge flies 91+ the soulflayers 151+ and wolves 171+ if you get unlucky and rage them mid life steal. Been loving the series so far, thank you for sharing it and keep up the wonderful journey!

So I had an idea for how to work around the elephant in the room that is the Crystal Tower raid series while breaking as few rules as possible and compensating for those that are broken. (This is a bit of a wall of text, so bear with me.) Simply put, the crystal tower, from the perspective of ARR, used to be Optional content, so in that sense one could consider it fair game to ignore the rules for the sake of progress. *However.* That doesn’t mean it should be a free ride. Oh no. My idea is as follows: Rule(s) you may break: You may use the Duty or Party/Raid Finder to complete The Crystal Tower Raid Series. (Your choice of duty/party finder, as well as your choice of ilvl and/or silence echo restrictions). What you are Required to do as compensation: 1. You must queue as the *Healer* Role. (It is your least used role thus far and you just levelled scholar up in this video. It would also be the role that asks the most effort from your current character to achieve success as you have shown you can already complete content with dps and tank roles.) 2. You must complete the Entire Raid Series for the MSQ Requirements *From Start To Finish.* Failing any part of the raid series will mean starting from the very first raid again. (To treat it as one big endurance test similar to how the dungeons have been thus far.) 3. You may not stop to resupply or do anything other than change gear or progress the Raid Series Questline until you are done with the raid series. (Within reason of course, if you’re waiting for a queue you can do general side-stuff to kill time or work towards other long term goals, but priority 1 is the raid once you’ve started it.) These restrictions would serve to force you into a role with your least prepared job/role (healer) and would call for you to perform consistently with that role across multiple raids, with the justification of it being “technically optional” content (as it is technically only mandatory due to shadowbringers). In this way it allows the run to keep going past The Crystal Tower, while also staying as true to the spirit of the run as possible. After all, it would be kind of sad for the run to just arbitrarily end “Because The Crystal Tower Became Mandatory Content Due To Something 3 Expansions Later” as opposed to the run ending because you reached a legitimate hurdle that you cannot overcome solo. Of course this is just my random musings/ideas for this and you might have other ideas for it, but we’re slowly drawing closer to the time where this issue will rear its head, so probably time to start discussion on what is to be done about it.

@@karen-ii2ge I wouldn't say so, since Eos is directly under the player's control and has to be summoned and available to do anything. If it was help from an NPC, then any of a Summoner's summons, Rook, Queen, Esteem and even Kardia wouldn't count.

Fair! She's far more dependent on the PC than the other way around. Eos got close to borderline for me because in the quests she SEEMS to act like an entity with her own will and consciousness, whereas summons seem more like bits of aether, but it's all super fuzzy (and I would be entertained EITHER WAY). (Plus, a challenge like this is less fun if you have to completely gut some jobs anyway)

Like Dedsonic said, the Aery comes to mind immediately in HW as something that will just kill you, almost no counterplay solo. Beyond that though. Post ARR has a few other nightmares. Like most of the mandatory trials. And especially the last trial. Unless they changed it very recently the crysallis I think is impossible synced solo. You have to be a tank to survive triple cast... but you then won't have enough damage to kill the tear in the time stop phase.

Congrats! Always enjoy your vids. One thing I would say though is it's probably worth having the warrior buff up at all times even if you have to do the aoe combo single target as it lasts so long. The buff is 10% iirc, so just use the aoe combo every 30 seconds or so at least until level 50 where you'll get the single target buff enabler. Keep it up! Cheering for you!

Ill definitely attempt it if things start to get super rough. Sometimes the 2 gcds can make a big difference since it keeps me away from storms path heals, but the extra damage could be worth it

Thinking about some of the stuff coming up. I really do think up to the ultima weapon is possible solo, even if very hard like dzaemel. What scares me for you is the post ARR trials. When you do inevitably hit an impassible wall (The chrysalis being the one that I know is impossibe solo synced.)... My point is. When you do hit a wall, I think it would be really cool to continue your journey. I just discovered it and have been going back through the old stuff. Its pretty amazing. Maybe see if you can get through your wall in a duo? And when you exhaust that, keep going till you find the minimum amount of people necessary to beat it. I know it's not entirely in the spirit of the challenge. But maybe the challenge can shift to "How much of the game can be beat solo," rather than "How far can I get solo."

17:21 I'm not sure if someone pointed this out already, but if you use Legacy movement then it turns A, S and D into the same kind of movement a holding W, and will automatically turn your character to whatever directional input you press and let you walk in that direction at full speed instead of doing that "backing up" animation that slows you down a ton. Useful in general (and better than normal movement for the changes to the S keys movement alone so you don't have to turn your whole camera and character just to back up out of an AOE) it would make doing this strat 1000000 times better. Edit: The changes to A, S and D allow you to turn to any direction and move in that direction on the spot without having to position your camera to face that way, its basically controller movement with KB&M. If you've played a game like Warframe on PC then the way the movement works becomes similar to that.

The best way I've heard SMN/SCH sharing levels explained is this: You're actually levelling Arcanist; the game just treats SMN and SCH as ACN wearing one of two different 'outfits' that have new skills and change its Role. This is technically the case for *every* Job based on a Class; you don't get Warrior EXP for example, you get Marauder EXP. I don't know exactly how they hacked in the later Jobs that don't have Classes, though.

Im really exited to see how far this solo run can get to. Obv crystal tower would requre an exeption to the solo rule for progress, especally the first duty where you'd have to have at least 13 ppl (Solo +12 gamers) total because of the 2nd path. Other then that I'd like to ask if there would be little side-quest episodes where solo would try to see if he can beat The Warring Triad bosse, ect.

@@honeydarlinggaming9156 well crystal tower labyrinth is impossible to solo due to the 2nd route needing at least 15 people (dont know if you can go to 13peeps without triggering enrage) to clear it 4 people per sigil to stand on and 1 person to damage the mob spawning otherwise enrage will trigger wiping the groups. Yoshi P did state they might end up doing a Crystal tower revamp that can be done with a trust so maybe in the 7.x series after they do the trials.

There is a reason the mob survived the mine in POTD. You see while exploding silver chests do damage near 80% of your max health, mines do relative damage and take 80% of your current health. Same goes for mobs

HELL YES SCHOLAR MVP~ (not really thou, Rath is just that awesome) im sorry, Scholar opened my eyes to the majesty and joy that is Casters, and I'm a Sage Main now, defaulting to red mage when I wanna just deal tons of damage. so seeing Scholar here just....makes me so, so happy, since its the class that made me go from liking and having fun with FF14, to loving FF14 and actively trying to learn all I can to help other players and enjoy myself plus in-canon, my character had the same eye-opening experience thanks to it (she's half-garlean, and thought she COULDN'T use magic, and now adores it and studies every vocation of magic she can) There's also some funny echoes of my own journey here, since I played Ninja until the end of ARR, then got Scholar after playing Arcanist on a whim of curiousity. (it's even more funny since I started leveling arcanist in the background around this same point- thou I didn't unlock Scholar til a good bit into ARR patch stuff)

If you wanna explore the multi-control-scheme-drifting approach further, you could try a gaming keypad like the Razer Tartarus or an Azeron. It's more like using a mouse+keyboard than a controller, but you still get analog stick movement. I've been using the Azeron Cyborg for over a year and it's legitimately the best gaming peripheral I've ever owned.

Fates are fine so long as you aren't just expressly joining other people for it. For instance, if I start a fate and someone joins, nothing I can do, but if I follow people around for a fate train, that's not allowed.

If you somehow get to level 70 before beating ARR (which hopefully won't happen, maybe a crafter or gather could get there) Reaper has one of if not the highest damage output of any job at level 50, hopefully a day where this knowledge needs to be used doesn't come but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

It'd have to be a level 70 combat job...and, like samurai, Rath would need to craft an appropriate weapon in order to use reaper. Which won't happen until heavensward at the earliest (there's a single crafted extreme weapon....which doesn't actually need extreme drops)

Blue mage isnt actually unlocked until after The Ultimate Weapon MSQ so you would have to do that normally.

I wanted to like FF14 so badly but as a solo player I had stop bc the game absolutely was not solo friendly. I know a lot of ppl will say stuff like "Well why do you play a MMO if you wanna play it solo?" Or "MMOs are meant to be played with ppl if you want a solo game go play a single player game." The answer is solo players like myself wanna enjoy these games just as much as you do just without the need of being forced into playing with other ppl. I am returning to the game though bc I heard they were adding trusts to all the dungeons so I won't have to be forced to play with others and so far its been great

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem all dungeons are getting this treatment, only the ones relevant to the MSQ for the time being, so any dungeon unlocked as side content doesn't seem to be getting Trust/Duty Support (these are the same, yet also different) added on. There's also the matter of Trials, or the boss battles, none of these have Trust/Duty Support except for one Endwalker Trial.

You can enjoy it by watching other people play it. Its the same was me wanting to play 1st person shooter games but hating 1st shooter camera, can they fix the camera to make them 3rd person ir shoulder? No ofc not.

@semekiizuio I think they added a 3rd person mode to the new cod lol and yeah I already do watch ppl play it I just don't enjoy it myself it's just not the same as experiencing it yourself

a bit late but think the lock on feature could make you run perfect circles by just holding down one key. might be usefull in the future tho

Lock on sadly doesn't help with spinning large enemies as it has you run around their hitbox and you have to be inside the hitbox.

Solo to an extent. This game forces you to group up for raids & you need to do that for the crystal tower series or you cant progress the entire story which I think is kind of messed up but thankfully the only tough one is labyrinth of the ancients, world of darkness may seem daunting but its actually easy as long as you can survive the first boss.
