Good choice. As crows can remember faces, remember the deeds of said faces, hold grudges, follow you around the world, and can communicate their trust/distrust of individual people to other crows. Also, if you wanna get on their good side fast, kill an owl if you see it encroaching on crow territory or nests. Owls are violent towards crows and the crows hate them for that.

About the woodpecker on the utility pole. Woodpeckers are known for jamming their head violently into trees, and there are actually two (2) reasons for this. The first one everyone knows, they are trying to get at their food, larvae and such, that live in the wood. This can be a somewhat lighter, irregular pecking. The second is a strong rythmic pecking, trying to make the most noise to attract a mate. Since it's not looking for food here but for maximum decibels, it works amazingly well on things that aren't wooden, such as utility poles.

I was waiting on the edge of my seat for the bluejay. 12/10 indeed. I have seen them divebomb cats, dogs, and people with zero hesitation. They'll get the whole flock in on it. With the doves in my backyard I would disagree on that, if anything I would call them oblivious. Sometimes that obliviousness leads them to be chill and not care about the other birds around them, other times it leads them to claim a part of a railing near where we have a bird feeder and violently chase any other birds that got near, it wasn't eating from that feeder it just wanted that spot to itself.

The Turkey Vulture being on the list is the testament that everyone has or will have a weird addition to the birds they see in their backyard or nearby, for me it was a Peacock who hung around for quite a while before disappearing as mysteriously as when he had first appeared, about a 1 or 2 out of 10 in terms of violence, the Cats weren't too fond of his presence and would harass him until he charged at them at a slightly faster pace than his usual leisurely stroll, otherwise a well mannered friendly fellow that insisted on being an alarm clock for the entire suburb :p

since this post is likely from someone in a country that isn't Australia, i'd like to rate some of the birds i see/hear in my yard :) *Magpie - 6/10* considering how absolutely violent you guys can be, i'd really expect this one to be higher. not only do i see you inciting violence on innocent people's hair, but i also see you having duels amongst your own kind purely because they lived a singular tree over from you. however, i'm only giving you a 6 because you're just defending a territory that's rightfully yours and that's honestly pretty likeable. besides, you're actually a lot more timid and lovely when you aren't tearing strands of human hair from their roots. your warbling calls are beautiful and your pride in your land is admirable. you're a pretty solid bird :) *Butcherbird - 1/10* you are one of the most chillest little goobers in my entire yard. all you do is fly around and sit on things, enjoying the view as you look around for something tasty to eat, living the simple life full of curiosity that the smaller, fightier Minor birds just don't understand. you're like a travelling visitor, hanging out for a bit and then flying away back to your nest in the trees. you're doing great hun, keep it up :) *Cockatoo 0/10* i've never seen a single one of these guys ever provoke anything with anyone. really all i've seen them do is scream bloody murder whilst flying through the skies at the slightest sign of thunder and to be fair, that is a completely reasonable reaction to have. good bird with a cool hairdo :) *Rainbow Lorikeet - 2/10* a true icon of beauty in Australia. stunning. fashionable. charming. these guys just kinda hang out in the spider flowers (Grevilleas) out the front and eat. they're a lovely thing to see and i appreciate their presence in my yard :) *Kookaburras - 1/10* pretty little fellas that just kinda hang out and hysterically laugh at absolutely nothing every so often. that's a mood if i've ever heard of one. good bird :) *Minors - 5/10* do not be fooled by the tiny innocent appearance of these dudes, they are secretly a supergang of mobsters that attack every other bird they come across. if you are a bird and exist you are on their hitlist and they will not step down. they're like primary school bullies in bird form, masters of harassment. fortunately for the other birds, though, harassment is really all they can do, so other than getting their lunch money stolen, Minors are pretty harmless. funny little bird :) *Crow - ????* just kinda... bounce around and stuff. ominous and beautiful black voids that just kinda scream and waddle around and if that isn't a good bird i don't know what is :) *Pluther - 12/10* think Magpies if they were twice as feared and dangerous if you provoke them. thought getting your hair plucked out was bad? these fuckers have _talons_ and shit. they'll be all fine and dandy at first and then you take one step close and boom. you just got pluther'd and you didn't even know it. watch out...... *Galah - 0/10* unbothered. laying in grass. happy. in my lane. focused. flourishing. i've really only seen these guys hang out in big patches of grass and just lay there with each other and honestly? that's the kinda life i wanna live. pretty pink and grey dudes who just hang out, what's not to love? amazing bird :)

I would argue that the brown-headed cowbird would be a 10/10 for violence for the simple fact that when the baby cowbird hatches, it will push the still marinating eggs out of the nest and declare supremacy. Cowbirds are parasitic birds and they are the most violent when they first hatch.
