As a Pole, I was very pleased to see old Polish-manufactured Fiat 126p cars in Havana. Amazing. I took a taxi, and my Cuban cab driver had a degree in physics and computer engineering from MGU and spoke Russian. I've studied both Russian and Spanish, and it was awesome to meet a cab driver who spoke exceptional Russian and also English (and obviously Spanish). The guy won a Cuban national award for computer engineering in the 1980s, but then he discovered that he could make more money driving tourists around in his cab than he could by working as a computer engineer. So look, Cuba has cab drivers who speak Russian. Polish Fiat 126p cars on the street. Plenty of cheap beer, and lots of high-rise concrete buildings. Finland deserves some extra points for being the homeland of the "three stripes" brand. Karhu made the three stripes brand before Adidas, Adidas just bought it in the 1950's for around 50000 Finnish marks and two bottles of whiskey xD
@wxl25623 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say so much the "three stripes brand" but I do agree. As neither company now takes recognition as being the "three stripe brand" - Adidas may have bought the possible trademark and used it as a selling mark. But it now seems to be something anyone can use. As well seems to just be what people know Adidas for, although both companies now have an actual trademark logo. I think I know more people that remember Adidas for their "pot leaf" logo - or as some older folk call it, but I mostly buy it for the quality and branding. Rather the three stripes. I respect Karhu as I do Adidas quite a bit - but hopefully we can come to an understanding, that Nike is western rubbish.
@wxl25623 жыл бұрын
I did have a good laugh though that the founder of Adidas was willing to purchase the three stripe design patent for cash, as well, whiskey. Two bottles of whiskey. Nothing classier than that.

@@yocapo32 in my country, alcoholic means (by law) drinking alcohol every day. Doesn't matter the amount or the actual drink or anything, lol :)

@@nightelfland1778 In my country alcoholic means that the person drinks as a habit and if they can't skip their schedule or it causes them difficulty (let it be 2 beers a day or a party at every Friday), then, they're alcoholics.
